I hope some people are managing to enjoy their day.
Christmas songs and prosecco at 7.30. Best thing is eating those mini sausage rolls for breakfast.
Chocolate next!

Surprisingly much better than expected. I really missed having my parents here. We visited and delivered their dinner but their health is poor so too risky to have them here.
Didn’t miss all the others I normally cook for though! Much more relaxed with just the 4 of us.
DH is great, the teens were lovely and were so pleased with their presents even though I had cut back a bit and I felt like everything just went right. I even got lovely presents including a special extra one from Dd bought from her meagre student loan!!
Just missing my mum and dad.

It was good, in the end. My eldest 2 dc were at their dads until 6 (we alternate) and I really missed them. It was made worse that DD13 rang me as soon as she woke to chat to us all before she even went downstairs/ opened presents. She said she’d rather be here.
Youngest 2 woke as I deposited stockings at 4 (I was up til 1.30 wrapping so not much sleep).
But... youngest 2 dc loved their presents as did dh, ds8 is convinced he woke as he heard Santa (he kind of did) and was extra excited, DM and DF called round in the evening (not seen them indoors since before March), eldest 2 dc absolutely loved theirs too when they came home, and I was in regular contact with DD13 by text all day so not really apart (DS15 isn’t big on communication!)

Mine was absolutely fantastic, I'd been feeling the vibes all week and having lovely pre-christmas moments. Received more cards than usual. The 25th was simply lovely. Now tapering off through Boxing Day and a little sad it's over tbh Xmas SmileStar

Yes had a lovely day. Looking forward to really relaxing today though as it was quite busy yesterday

@Frenchdressing ugh I hate that. I hope you’re ok and things improve

@bloodywhitecat sounds as though you have a lot going on! Pleased you had a good day

Ours was great overall. Teenage son had a bit of an ungrateful moment after phoning two friends, one of whom got an xbox and the other a ps5. He knew he wouldn’t be getting anything like that but had a bit of an it’s not fair moment and was a bit of a shit about it. He did redeem himself later though.

Apart from that the children were all great and we had a lovely day.

Thanks @Parbor

Yes. Just DH, cat, hamster and me. I was worried for a while about DD(18) at her Dad's. He is a workaholic and when I spoke to him a few days before Christmas he hadn't really sorted anything. Usually I can make up for his lack of effort but this year I couldn't because she couldn't spend some of Christmas with me when the Christmas changes were announced.

I managed to get my gifts to DD and she opened them on Zoom and after our frank "chat" her Dad got his act together and sorted decorations (which DD happily put up), got presents, snacks and sat and watched films with DD.

After reporting her happiness at her Dad's new changed behaviour and my gifts arriving I relaxed and really enjoyed Christmas with DH.
