I hope some people are managing to enjoy their day.
Christmas songs and prosecco at 7.30. Best thing is eating those mini sausage rolls for breakfast.
Chocolate next!

Yes, I'm on my own but surprisingly chipper. Have had a few glasses of champagne but the turkey is cooked and resting and the rosaries are in the oven. Looking forward to a nice dinner and probably a snooze afterwards

Kab30 · 25/12/2020 12:28

I am normally rushing around as ring a pub ....but today relaxed morning with my 4 lo and dh ...first time in 20 years xxxx Merry Christmas xx

LittleLottieChaos · 25/12/2020 12:32

@Whatayear1234 he is down! Woooooooo we win. We can hopefully eat lunch whilst he is down, so that’ll be great. Thanks, Merry Christmas! I can’t wait for the older years as I didn’t much enjoy baby or toddler stages...

Pinkchocolate · 25/12/2020 12:34

Rubbish morning here. DD17 didn’t even pretend to look happy with her gifts and has already told me she’s disappointed. I’m gutted. She’s never been an ungrateful brat before. Have had a shit few months so was hoping for an easy day but no such luck, I was in tears before 10.

rooarsome · 25/12/2020 12:36

Without wanting to jinx it it's been good so far! Choc croissants and bagels for breakfast, kids actually grateful and playing with their presents, baby sleeping peacefully...

MarciaMarciaMarcia · 25/12/2020 12:39

I live overseas in a hot country with low covid. We rented a lovely villa with a pool for the week and had a wonderful day. Happy kids, despite it being very low key compared to other years and then a nice lunch in an Irish pub. Going to watch a movie and finish the prosecco!
Fantastic day Xmas Smile

SingingSands · 25/12/2020 12:40

Lovely here. Eldest teen now has a part time job and has spoilt us all with beautiful presents! Youngest is playing away on his new electric piano.
We've had sausage sandwiches for brunch and I'm now on the sofa with coffee and lebkuchen, watching The Snowman.
FaceTimed the in-laws and spent 25 minutes talking to their ceiling or the top of their heads 😁

Whatayear1234 · 25/12/2020 12:46

@LittleLottieChaos woohoo! Enjoy your time x

Our Christmas is actually busier than usual, it's normally just us but are seeing ILs today instead of tomorrow, and going to seey mum tomorrow as her support bubble.
We've been up since 5:30, presents opened by 7, we've had bagels and smoked salmon for breakfast. Two DCs are asleep, eldest is watching a film (and trying to stay awake) and DP and I are relaxing before we start getting ready to head out.
Been a lovely day so far. Hope everyone else continues to enjoy the day, it's nice to actually have something to celebrate and enjoy after this year.

Lottapianos · 25/12/2020 12:56

Lovely here. Just me and DP, so peace and quiet. Not missing family at all - no travelling, no boredom, no claustrophobia, no stress. Did a workout this morning and been for a sunny walk so feeling good. Roast chicken dinner in a couple of hours. Chocs and cake and mince pies to dip into later. Nicest Christmas I've had for many years

Funkypolar · 25/12/2020 13:22

Just me and DH. Our last Christmas just the two of us before our baby is born. Had waffles with blueberries and maple syrup, smoked salmon blinis for lunch and having a roast chicken dinner later.

Watched Muppet Christmas Carol. Still in my PJs!

My son has managed to ruin Christmas again by being an ungrateful moody shit

delilahbucket · 25/12/2020 13:29

Yes a lovely day with the three of us (me, dp and ds12). Boys are playing on the playstation currently while I drink mimosa's 😂. Breakfast was a leisurely affair, everyone pitching in. Turkey is cooking, going to see how the Gravadlax turned out as I've not made it before.

ChaToilLeam · 25/12/2020 13:30

Stressed. Was crying. DP asked me what I wanted and still got it all wrong. I don’t want to be ungrateful but he just doesn’t listen. Ever. Last night he left everything in such a mess and I ended up having to tidy everything before i could even start cooking.

Chunkyetfunky90 · 25/12/2020 13:39

@LittleLottieChaos
I feel your pain, hopefully he’ll nap soon

TWBAEM · 25/12/2020 13:42

Lovely Christmas here! Children are no longer toddlers (@LittleLottieChaos - it does get better!!) and are currently playing with their new toys. They awoke early but didnt come in to us until 7am. I could hear them whispering to each other from 6am "is it 7 yet?"

With only online church and no family around to restrain me I fell into my bad habit of trying to save time and we ended up eating at 1230 (earliest Christmas dinner we have ever had) - I was aiming for 2pm Blush I also made the mistake of making the same quantities as usual, plus some extra side dishes when there is only 4 of us, rather than the usual 8. I am now lying on the bed like a beached whale while DH tidies up.

I had a wobble when we first sat down for lunch, but managed to pull myself together and actually we are having a lovely day.

Pipandmum · 25/12/2020 13:45

Yes! Opened presents at about 10, had French toast, worked out cooking schedule. Now my son is about to walk the dogs and daughter is putting together something she got for Christmas and we are watching It's a Wonderful Life, soon to get the turkey in and set the table.

QuantumJump · 25/12/2020 13:47

We're having a lovely time. Just the five of us as PILs couldn't come as planned (tier 4). DC loved their presents and we are about to sit down to a delicious dinner!

Whatayear1234 · 25/12/2020 13:54

@Pinkchocolate @missrks that is rubbish. I hope your day improves, or that tomorrow is a better day for you both.

Yes, lovely thank you. The 3 children are busy cooking - I just get called in for advice now and again (and to make the brandy butter)! Me, DH and MIL are relaxing with Bucks Fizzes. Opened secret Santa stocking - lots of craft stuff (fab) and had a long chat with my brother and Dad. Food soon, then The Queen and then online to open presents.
All good!

shivermetimbers77 · 25/12/2020 13:55

Yes, really relaxed here so far. DS6 is thrilled with his presents, have had a lovely zoom call with the family, will take a walk in the frosty sunny weather in a bit, and planning to have Christmas dinner later rather than lunch, so am much less stressed about the cooking . All quite chilled out really.

readingismycardio · 25/12/2020 13:56

Yes. 2020 was a crazy years. Doing Christmas with DH and my Dparents (as we usually do) and it's quiet and relaxed. Me and Dh have matching Christmas jumpers!

I ate a lot & planning to eat even more

Merry Christmas, everyone!Xmas Wink

grannyjacob · 25/12/2020 13:56

Merry Christmas to you all. Has nobody else spotted the error in KatherineJaneway's post? I can't stop laughing at it 😂

readingismycardio · 25/12/2020 13:56

Crazy year, not years, obv... though 2020 did feel like two yearsGrin
