My son (nearly 7) loves role-playing scenes from favourite games/programmes. He's been obsessed with Untitled Goose Game for months. He has no idea but I've bought him a TY goose and a kit to build a paper village so he can re-enact it. He is going to be SO excited when he opens them - I can't wait Grin

Some of these are so unbelievably thoughtful Smile I love the idea of paint by numbers based on your pet cat!

@unlimiteddilutingjuice

Oh Wow HerbErtlinger I'd be excited about that as well! She's going to love it!
Thanks, I really can't wait to see her reaction. Just hope DP and I don't murder each other putting the bed together! Grin

I had a ty beanie bo that I got rid of, dd was devastated as she considered it hers. This was over a year ago. She has decided to ask Santa for one. I managed to track one down on Amazon market place for £18 . Original was about £3 as old. She then persuaded ds to ask Santa for a replacement lost Macdonald's toy. That cost me £5.50 on Ebay !
Hope they will be happy.

UndertheCedartree · 12/12/2020 22:16

@BatleyTownswomensGuild - that sounds amazing!

I am most excited about the keyboard I have got DD. She does keyboard lessons at school.and loves it. She is going to be so suprised!

For my DS I'm most excited about the Pokemon cans of drink and sweets I've got for him. He is Pokemon obsessed and this is something a bit different I think he will love.

Thank God for Ebay! We managed to complete DS's set of Trolls Happy Meal toys after scoring about 3 Poppy's and no Branches at Maccie D's for months...

@Lovemusic33 I’M excited for your daughter! Bless her doing her homework from a phone..she’s going to be thrilled.

MrsGrindah · 13/12/2020 09:21

I much prefer these threads to the “ Look at my pile ones” as they show the thought and love that goes into presents. Plus a little insight into kiddies personalities!

Openalltheadvent · 13/12/2020 09:44

Telling dd(3) she is going to be a big sister Smile

Changeismyname · 13/12/2020 09:46

@thesearetherichesofthepoor

10 year old DD wants to be an astronaut when she's older so she's got lots of NASA themed bits and a Russian phrase book. She's been worrying about how to learn Russian so she can go to the ISS 🤣 also got her a tee with astronaut on it from a small biz

11 year old DS has just got into stranger things so I've got him a 'friends don't lie' jumper from an indie biz that he will love.

7 year old DS is desperate for a Harry Potter costume and wand so he'll be so excited to open those!

Nothing to add to this thread other than these kids genuinely sound brilliant
Springersrock · 13/12/2020 09:51

I’ve had a stuffed toy replica made of my DD’s pony.

It arrived the other day and it’s absolutely bloody brilliant - so detailed, even down to pony’s wall eye.

DD has been having some really nasty mental health issues lately so hasn’t really felt able to get up to our yard and really missed her pony so I’m hoping she’ll love it.

notdaddycool · 13/12/2020 09:59

@Cherryrainbow

There should be a follow up thread on xmas day (or day after) the toy your kid was most excited about :D it'll be fun to see if it's the same or if we got taken by surprise x
Don’t be daft, it will be the box
Namechangeforthis88 · 13/12/2020 10:37

Can't wait to see him open the Necron Christmas jumper. He loves Christmas jumpers and Necrons are his favourite faction in Warhammer. He doesn't know Warhammer are even doing a range of merch now.

Also, a game called Science Ninjas that is hard to get in the UK, he is slightly obsessed with ninjas and with the periodic table, which features heavily.

IHeartKingThistle · 13/12/2020 10:38

Who remembers the stripy monkey thread from years ago? Made me cry. It was amazing.

@Openalltheadvent that made my eyes a bit leaky! Congratulations, how lovely 😍
SinkGirl · 13/12/2020 11:29

I feel quite jealous of all the excitement kids have for Christmas - I love Christmas but my twins have no concept of it, and they aren’t really interested in toys either. One did get very excited when I put the lights up though.

One has got some puzzles I know he will love, and the other has a Hey Duggee tablet toy that I am sure he will enjoy driving me crazy withbut most likely he will be most thrilled by the new discovery I’ve made which combines his two favourite things: dairy free chocolate covered raisins 😬

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 13/12/2020 11:46

@sinkgirl you're wrong, your twins will be most thrilled with the cardboard boxes and wrapping paper! 😁

On a serious note, keep some amazon boxes or similar to turn into aeroplanes, trains and drawing on with crayons if they are big enough. It'll keep them busy with a familiar activity on what can be a very overwhelming day for little ones.

SinkGirl · 13/12/2020 11:56

They’re not that little - they are 4, but autistic and non verbal with little understanding of language. If they are interested in the boxes and wrapping paper it will be to chew them!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with their little ones - their excitement is so special. Take lots of pictures and enjoy it!

user686833 · 13/12/2020 11:56

Probably the Gorilla Gym, to burn off some excited energy. They are going to be so excited to have a swing indoors. But I know there will be lots of fighting about who's turn it is.

Howmanysleepsnow · 13/12/2020 12:04

DD13 is getting 2 guinea pigs after asking for years. She even did a PowerPoint back in April entitled “why I should have a guinea pig” to convince us!
(Hopefully DS7 and DS8 understand why they need to be older and more responsible before they get their own pet...)

LindaEllen · 13/12/2020 12:05

DSS has been told he's not getting FIFA this year because it's a waste of money for what is essentially the same game year on year.

He is getting it.

He'll be thrilled, and we won't see him at all between Christmas and New Year once he's opened it, haha.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 13/12/2020 12:44

Sinkgirl

There's still time. My DS is ASD too and this year is the first year he's really got on board with it. He's almost 7

That’s so brilliant - I know how wonderful that must be, I hope you all have a brilliant Christmas!
BangingOn · 13/12/2020 13:36

These posts are all so lovely.

I’m really not sure what DS is going to be most excited about, it’s the first year he’s not really asked for anything specific- just Pokemon and surprises. It does make me a bit nervous not to have the one thing I’m certain will be a hit, but hopefully there will be at least one.

He’d better bloody like the Mega Construx Mew vs Mew Two set that I had to order from Japan and pay stupid import fees on Grin

bluechameleon · 13/12/2020 13:49

This makes me a little sad - I'm not convinced I've got anything either boy is going to really love. I got all the presents out to look at yesterday and I don't think I've done a great job this year. Neither of them has a big 'wow' present, and neither has something they want but aren't expecting. They have things they will like and enjoy but I've slightly missed the mark I think. Ah well.

hiredandsqueak · 13/12/2020 13:54

@sinkgirl I remember the year ds was 4 also autistic and non verbal at the time. He came downstairs and had a complete meltdown because the light in the kitchen wasn't on and then was really distressed about these parcels arriving and the living room looking different. It set the tone for the rest of the day.
BUT he's got older and we learned how better to handle situations and now he's twenty five. We will have bought only the things he's asked for, they will be wrapped in blue paper, I will be allowed to buy surprises for his stocking that he will leave on the table without comment if he doesn't like them. He still won't eat any Christmas dinner so I will cook what he wants and serve on the same blue plate he has used for 23 years. But he will be happy with his gifts, he will enjoy the company of his siblings and I couldn't love him any more if I tried. Merry Christmas to you and your twins
