My son (nearly 7) loves role-playing scenes from favourite games/programmes. He's been obsessed with Untitled Goose Game for months. He has no idea but I've bought him a TY goose and a kit to build a paper village so he can re-enact it. He is going to be SO excited when he opens them - I can't wait Grin

@Howmanysleepsnow

How did everything go?
DD13 loves her guinea pigs!

Ah that's lovely. My DD was over the moon with her new Harry Potter bedroom

@VanellopeVonSchweetz99 which sewing machine did you get? I got my DD the beginners one from Hobbycraft. I'm hoping she likes it!

Drawing boards and new pens for colouring. They keep trying to pinch my drawing board so I've got them their own and written their names on them. Also got DS5 a pencil sharpener which he'll be thrilled with as he keeps nicking mine!

My DS asked for a laptop and DD’s a camera each so excited to see them open those. Also bought them a den kit to share, it’s admittedly more for me than them but excited to build it in the garden Grin. Also excited for 2 year old in general, it’s the first Christmas where he’ll be able to actively join in with opening gifts and such. I’m sure he’ll love his main gift (balance bike).

@Rockbird I'm glad it's not just me! I was really shocked actually when DD agreed to get rid of some things a few weeks ago, she's such a hoarder. I'm just conscious we're nearing the end of the toy years but I don't want to rush her into it.

@MarmaladeTeepee I have a nearly 9yo too and I think that, when faced with a pile of LOLs she'll soon find her former enthusiasm! Mine moves back and forth between favourites every so often. I'm on the verge of asking if she wants to get rid of certain things and next thing they're her favourites again!

I cannot wait. I can’t wait for my children to laugh uproariously at the funny games we have got them and will play together.

Lots of little ‘bits’ this year, but nothing wasteful, lots of scope for imaginary play. I think they will love them. They didn’t ask for anything in particular, but will be made up to have so many new things.

I am excited to see DS' face when he opens the smart watch he wants but doesn't think we can afford.

I'm worried about DD's presents though, she's nearly 9 and I forgot how much they change at this age. Worried about the impact of covid, I bought all her presents by the end of october (she'd previously gone through the smyths catalogue and pointed out things she liked). However in just those few short months she seems to have changed so much and is no longer LOL obsessed and 90% of her presents are LOLs Confused. I'm hoping it's just a bit of toy fatigue (we don't tend to buy them toys outside of birthdays and Christmas) and when she sees them all she'll be over the moon, but I have doubts.

DD who is nearly 10 is getting an ipad, which she has no idea about.
she's glued to her phone usually, watching Youtube and playing Roblox, but back in the day when we could still have other people in our house one of her pals came over and she got a shot of her tablet, which she loved
like so many she's struggled this year so hopefully she will love it

DD1 (12) is getting an iPhone 11. She is pretty sure she's getting a new phone as her one is old and knackered but I've told her she's got no chance of the purple 11 that she loves, she's expecting a second hand iPhone X.

DD2 (8) is getting the hoverboard that her friend got and she has been desperate for. I've told her we don't have the room for it (we don't but what the hell).

Can't wait to see their faces!

With my youngest I have no idea which present will get the biggest reaction - she is always hard to predict.

I am really looking forward to DD1 opening her iPhone. She usually gets a bit of money from family and she has been saving in the hope she will have enough for a second hand handset by xmas but is worried she won't find one in her budget. She hasn't asked us to buy it as she knows it is expensive but I found a good deal on an iphone in really good condition. She will be so surprised and hopefully very excited.

@Sunfl0wer20

Not the most impressive or expensive gift but the personalised super Mario pillow I got for DS(4) is going to be a big hit I think.
I think someone else has already mentioned this, but it will be so nice to see the follow up to this thread to see what will actually be the biggest hit and the reactions of the little ones

Oh where was the pillow from please?

DD8 has a bean bag, wasnt on her list but I think she'll love it.

DD11 is dragon mad and I got her a tshirt that says "just a girl who loves dragons" which I know she'll live in for the next 2 years (or 5 minutes given the speed she grows Confused )

DS9 has a switch game he wanted.

Maybe not big ticket items but I know they'll be chuffed

All ds4 has asked for is a mini Christmas tree and some colourful jewels so he will be pleased to see them in his stocking!
Have got him a big box of Lego and a bath toy that’s he asked for ages ago so he will be very happy

@Lovemusic33 yes it's our Christmas too, might not be typical but it works for us. DD 17 has autism as well, she's more able to manage surprises but we stick to themes that have worked before and she will eat some of Christmas dinner as well.

Nintendo switch. My kids have been asking all year but I've convinced them that we won't be getting one. They will be amazed.

DD9 has a tent. She will be very happy. (Plus other camping bits)
DD7 will be pleased with the grown up, all season sleeping bag, but will be a bit jealous of the tent... But we think she's too young to sleep on campsites in her own one yet. When she's 9/10.

On the smaller stuff... For DD7 probably the 'make your own lip gloss' that her sister has bought her. For DD9 the big pile of books.
