Thread 25 - the one where WE GOT TO MAGIC THREAD 25!

Reastie · 05/12/2020 06:50

25th December is Christmas Day and for the first time ever we’ve hit 25 threads! My little challenge every year was will be make it magic number 25 and we’ve only gone and done it and still 20 days to go!

Thank you everyone for posting and sharing ideas and links, so many have been helped in what will be a very difficult Christmas for many, to be able to achieve a Christmas more bumper and less expensive than they had thought they could manage,

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@Delahot
Not exactly a bargain and might not be the right outfit but it is from the film:

PapercraftNinja · 06/12/2020 01:44

@BeaLola were you looking for Jellycat?

Not a discount but if you look at

www.fleurtations.uk.com/jellycat_animals.asp

Free delivery over £20 and the lowest priced jellycat I’ve seen

Thanks @villamariavintrapp (love your name!) and @TheSilentStars will check both out

Br1ll1ant · 06/12/2020 06:38

Re ASOS. I placed an order last weekend and it hasn’t been despatched yet. I wonder if they will slow down on discount codes as they aren’t able to keep up with the orders they are already getting?

IggyAce · 06/12/2020 06:43

Looks like you can still sign up for the free pukka tea pack here
It does take a while to arrive.

unkindnessofravens · 06/12/2020 07:40

Some great stuff in the Aldi Specialbuys pre orders today. Weighted blankets in Disney Pixar and frozen designs for £19.99, lots of great jigsaws and puzzles, toy story and marvel figures etc.

JoeWicksSurvivor · 06/12/2020 07:53

Karaoke singing machine / game for 9yr old - is it better to get one for a gaming console or a stand alone karaoke box with flashing lights etc?
Any help very much appreciated - thank you.

Bezzi · 06/12/2020 07:54

@girlsyearapart

I managed to get the facemask maker for dd2 allegedly arriving Friday Currently panicking as I ordered dd2 & 3 new beds via Wowcher and since read dreadful reviews 😕
I ordered new beds for my dc in April and they finally arrived in August 🙄 I think that was more to do with lockdown though. I remember Wowcher was ridiculous to be able to actually speak to anyone but I eventually spoke to someone from the company the beds were coming from rather than wowcher themselves, could you try doing that?

Thank you to whoever linked 'How Winston Saved Christmas' when it was down to £6. We are enjoying it so much!!

Thank you for the threads @Reastie, I've also been here since the start under various names.

Perhaps we should have a thread where we all name our best bargains over the years.... I would struggle to pick just one.

Raindropsonrosesand · 06/12/2020 08:16

I have a £5 off £30 Lakeland voucher, if that can help anyone.

And a big thank you from me too on the 'How Winston Saved Christmas' book. It's fantastic - a lovely story, and a quick&easy but effective craft activity every day. Very much enjoying doing it with DD (7)!

After the recommendations here for the scarpa womens walking boots, I'm going to get a pair for dd, are there any bargains or discounts to be had please? Xmas Smile

Asj0405 · 06/12/2020 08:27

Extra 10% off Boohoo including sale with code VCD-CMM-CHT-625-WWL ends today I think.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone has a unidays code for Dune London or Go Outdoors that they could send me. Last 2 gifts and I'm all finished Xmas Smile

lazzaroo · 06/12/2020 08:31

We have How Winston Saved Christmas when it was originally suggested on here. Its a lovely book.

I have a challenge for some of you who are super organised but would enjoy more bargain hunting..... I need a Happy Napper but Large size. Its suddenly become a top of the list item but I can't find large anywhere that will arrive before Christmas. Any ideas?!

steph2412 · 06/12/2020 08:31

@Asj0405 go outdoors for 10% off UNIDAYS10 it's not bringing up offers for dune sorry

steph2412 · 06/12/2020 08:33

@Asj0405 sorry go outdoors for 15% off if you have delivery use code BLUE15

IggyAce · 06/12/2020 08:46

If anyone is ordering from Nuxe, if your order is over £60 code PREMGIFTDEC20DJKV will get you a free gift worth £24

girlsyearapart · 06/12/2020 08:52

@Bezzi they were meant to be delivered on the 3rd and never came
I emailed the company who apologised and said they would be here Tuesday / Wednesday. Im not too worried about their arrival (yet!) but the reviews about the quality have me worried

Scout2016 · 06/12/2020 08:59

Does Decathlon ever do decent reductions on tents? Was thinking it would be an idea for a joint present for us and figured this would be the time of year for a sale but seems not.

Go outdoors sometimes do tent sales during the winter?
MsMiaWallace · 06/12/2020 09:07

Millets might be better?
Our camping gear is generally from here. Tent was a lot better quality than Decathlon when we compared.

Asj0405 · 06/12/2020 09:11

@steph2412 Thanks so much that really helps Smile

I have just found the same item from dune on the debenhams website, could I be really cheeky and ask if there are any codes for debenhams instead?

Ilisten2thesoundofdrums · 06/12/2020 09:15

@notlongnow1
I saw some in costco if you know anyone with membership

XmasLockdown · 06/12/2020 09:19

I am going to try H&B facial soap bar today. The bodyshop had strawberry lip balm which I gave to dd.
