Thread 25 - the one where WE GOT TO MAGIC THREAD 25!

Reastie · 05/12/2020 06:50

25th December is Christmas Day and for the first time ever we’ve hit 25 threads! My little challenge every year was will be make it magic number 25 and we’ve only gone and done it and still 20 days to go!

Thank you everyone for posting and sharing ideas and links, so many have been helped in what will be a very difficult Christmas for many, to be able to achieve a Christmas more bumper and less expensive than they had thought they could manage,

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@GirlWithTheYellowHat

What my life has become...
@GirlWithTheYellowHat has your Aldi restocked on those pyjamas? Mine had barely any left a week ago. I could really do with some 5-6 as DS is in the 3-4 but they're quite tight. If they're restocking I'll make another trip to Aldi.

PapercraftNinja. Thank you - will be having a peek and try to restrain from buying more than 1

BeaLola · 06/12/2020 12:32

Having bought the bargain Tape Scot tape dispenser last year I'm wondering if there is something similar for cutting paper apart from scissors or guillotine ? Any ideas - need for myself obviously !

BeaLola · 06/12/2020 12:33

Love autocorrect - was meant to say Rapensco.

I dithered over getting a Eufy robovac on black friday and they'd sold out of the 15c...

The fancier G30(?) Edge model has just come back into stock (it follows an s pattern, instead of zig-zag bouncing off walls, so is quicker and more efficient), with £90 off code on the Eufy website... But quidco have the code WSQUIDCO30 which gives 30% off or £102, making it about £237. I've bought it as my Xmas gift to myself. 😁

@Willbob

I know it doesn't sound very bargainous but the Harrods sale has a few decent bits in, some high brand make up, coffee as well as clothes etc. Worth a look.

If anyone has a student ted baker code I'd really appreciate it please? X

I would second the Harrods sale - I know it doesn't sound like a bargain but they do a really good sale every year. I managed to get some McQueen shoes one year for £99 reduced from £400 - I could definitely never have bought them full price but they were right in present budget at that price!
Amazonmulu · 06/12/2020 13:01

I though I was totally completely done but turns out SIL wants a spa voucher 🙈🤦🏻‍♀️ Does anyone have any codes for Virgin experience or red letter days?

PinkJam · 06/12/2020 13:06

@eastmidswarwicknightnanny Your weren’t responding to me, but just wanted to say thank you for posting about the Oh Dorothy website. I’m just browsing now and it has some lovely stuff Smile

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 06/12/2020 13:18

@ThePurpleGirl well these are the Kevin the carrot jammies, my store hadn't had this style before but they did have lots of red and the blue ones out with the teddies. There was also the book and a mug.

Glad you got your turkey @WisestIsShe!

@GirlWithTheYellowHat
Ah thanks. I thought they were the ones with the flippy sequins saying "Ready for Christmas" and then "Ready for Santa/ presents" when flipped.

IggyAce · 06/12/2020 13:30

No Turkeys in my local Aldi, but a friends mum picked one up for me as her local store had loads.

LutherRalph1 · 06/12/2020 13:36

@Amazonmulu have you tried buyagift? They always have codes floating around

LutherRalph1 · 06/12/2020 13:38

I need to buy 6 slim photo calendars

Last year I got them for just over a fiver each but this year can only get them down to about 9 each

Also needs to be on a good creator. Photobox has proved a nightmare. Last year I used boots but it's now powered by Cewe not snap fish as it was, snap fish is my current leader but holding out for a bigger code

WhereTheresAHill · 06/12/2020 13:47

@LutherRalph1 Tesco Photo do slim calendars, currently buy one get one half price so the same price as you already have although you can click and collect if that saves any money on p&p

WhereTheresAHill · 06/12/2020 13:48

@LutherRalph1 sorry I think you might be able to stack a 10% off code when you sign up to their newsletter too

purplepandas · 06/12/2020 13:59

Does anyone have any cheaper gin gifts ( ideally sent direct) please? My friend has a birthday and loves gin. Ideally just a bottle of nice gin but something a bit different. Thinking 15 max which might be unrealistic!!

steph2412 · 06/12/2020 14:01

@Asj0405 glad it worked! I've been so busy I haven't contributed any bargains but have saved some money from this thread so I'm glad I've managed to help someone save something 😁

Theonlyoneiknow · 06/12/2020 14:13

Which jellycat did you get please lovemusic33 ?

LutherRalph1 · 06/12/2020 14:18

Thank you @WhereTheresAHill

Asj0405 · 06/12/2020 15:01

SadderThanEeyore · 06/12/2020 15:20

purplepandas · 06/12/2020 15:48

Thanks @Someaddedsugar and @SadderThanEeyore. Honestly, not sure which is bad. I know she has made damson gin.

Notlongnow1 · 06/12/2020 16:05

I'm holding you lot personally responsible for this m&s gin chaos Wink
