Here ye, here ye!

Day one of my Christmas Quiz Smile

All welcome, sadly no prizes - except a smug smile and a pat on your own back Grin

I'll post one question per day until Christmas Eve.

So, grab yourself a festive drink and snack of your choice and keep away from Google!

Bets of luck Xmas Smile

I only got 203 by going across two triple words, Passata. basic face value 17, times 3 = 51, triple that = 153 plus the 50 bonus.

This thread is getting like those where parents beg for help with their DC’s Maths homework.

InTheCludgie · 15/12/2020 16:13

Indeed TrickyD, reading all these numbers is making my head spin Xmas Smile

PassataQueenofBritain · 15/12/2020 17:04

Ah, now I added the bonus first- so 14 (due to not counting already placed tiles, plus 50, times 3, times 3. Grin

AdaColeman · 17/12/2020 12:16

Xmas Grin Oh no! Sorry for any confusion. I didn't know the answer, but thought that was a good "gangster" quote!

drspouse · 17/12/2020 12:16

The Stone of Scone?

FindHungrySamurai · 17/12/2020 12:17

Yes, the Stone of Scone.

AdaColeman · 17/12/2020 12:27

Question 17
They stole The Stone of Scone, used for centuries during the coronation ceremony of Scottish kings.

This is actually a block of sandstone, and not, as it might seem, a large scone, waiting to be anointed with clotted cream and strawberry jam, before being distributed to the assembled aristocracy!

elQuintoConyo · 18/12/2020 08:42

Ada that was a great gangster quote!

And yes, they stole the Stone of Scone (pronounced 'scoon' if I'm not mistaken?). I also know it's not the type tp be covere in jam (first) and cream (on top) Xmas Grin

Question 18:

In the song It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, "dolls that'll talk and will go for a walk is the hope for..." who?
