You’ll have to wait a few weeks, we haven’t even bought it yet! Love Christmas but prefer to keep it special by starting later, (just my preference as we carry on until 12th night) but it does mean that by the time the tree goes up nobody cares! Maybe I will come back to this thread on 20 Dec and post it then!

RWK29 · 28/11/2020 11:16

Love this thread @WhoUsedMyName 👍🏻 Mainly because I’m nosy 😂 mine is going up this weekend 😊

FourPlatinumRings · 28/11/2020 11:17

Not till the first at the very earliest. Can't abide premature decoration.
@somewheresorted I love the idea of a real tree, and the smell but the thought of the needles kill me.
How often do you get stabbed in the foot?
We love a real tree. As long as you don't go for the cheapest option (Norway Spruce) and get something like a Nordmann fir, needle dropping is minimal and the needles aren't stabby. We did get a Norway Spruce last year and still loved it but we had to sweep under it a few times a day and definitely not jostle it, especially when watering it.

They smell AMAZING and look so much better than the artificial ones. They're also more environmentally friendly when you realise that many cheap artificial trees have maybe a two or three year lifespan usually.

DreadingSeason2020sFinale · 28/11/2020 11:26

Not the best picture because of terrible lighting but our real tree looked wonderful last year.

ApolloandDaphne · 28/11/2020 11:28

This is the little artificial one in our family room which I put up yesterday. We are going to get a real one for the sitting room this afternoon. I will post a picture once it is decorated.

Hanging on until 1st December, but really wanted to go now! Have spent the morning putting up outside decs

Lovemusic33 · 28/11/2020 13:45

Still a work in progress as I got fed up and started the outside lights.

The one we're using this year has been in a pot in our garden for 5 years (it's been in the house for 2 of those Christmases) so we probably can't get it in until 13-15th December but I love seeing everyone's decorated!

weepingwillow22 · 28/11/2020 14:08

Here's our from last year. It was an online order and a bit bigger than we expected hence not much room for anything else! Going for the next size down this year.

Here we go. All wooden and felt decorations (and roped to the wall) due to toddler DS! Mind you, so far he's been surprisingly gentle with it. Just likes touching it and playing with the felt robin on the bottom branch.

I will do tomorrow when it’s up 🥰.

JemimaJellyfish · 28/11/2020 14:29

Those wreaths are amazing WhoUsedMyName, very professional. I tried the bauble one a couple of years ago but got fed up half way through and it looked rubbish.

Loving nosing at everyone's trees, ours goes up tomorrow.

WhoUsedMyName · 28/11/2020 14:30

I'm loving all these trees 😍 think il be changing mine next year

Your tree is beautiful! Do you mind if I asked where you got it from? I thought it was a real one until I saw the base and I'm getting sick of clearing up pine needles.
Adelais · 28/11/2020 14:47

We put ours up today Smile. The stockings are the B&M ones.

JemimaJellyfish · 28/11/2020 14:51

Those stockings are lovely. Now I understand why there's a whole thread devoted to them Grin

TommyShelby · 28/11/2020 15:00

The spaniel is an optional Christmas decoration... 😂

ThatDamnScientist · 28/11/2020 15:04

@weepingwillow22 your living room is stunning 😍

All these trees are beautiful.

I'm trying to move furniture so that I can get it in, but we bought a stupid tv which is way too big and dominates the room and means there isn't room for much movement of furniture.

Once I figure it out and put my tree up I will post a photo.

Furries · 28/11/2020 15:14

Yay, I love looking at other people’s trees. Mine is going up next weekend, but will be looking like this. I don’t have a star or angel on the top of mine, I have a fluffy white owl.

It’s a pre-lit fake tree, but each year I buy a set of scentsicles to hang hidden in the tree so it still smells nice (though will never be as good as the smell of a real tree).

@squirrelfriends we got it in B&Q last year. I initially didn't want a pre lit tree but I do love it
