It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

I second/third lowplex for books. I bought some on Monday evening and they arrived early Thursday. The prices were good as well. I also feel the same about missing the book people!

ScarlettDarling · 28/11/2020 20:32

Ooh @Elpheba the Mr Men could be good! Thanks for that!

You're welcome, I'm tempted to order a set for DS but the delivery for one set is putting me off.

Books2Door have this larger set too and free delivery at the moment. I ordered from them last week and delivery was very quick.

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 28/11/2020 20:41

@ScarlettDarling Try books4people, they're the closest I've found to the book people.

Yeknom · 28/11/2020 20:45

@JoHo123 I would also pay good money for a kid collector Grin.

The Joseph Joseph barwise one looks perfect, I've now just got to track down where still sells it!

Fuckingfuckssake · 28/11/2020 20:49

@MissMarple0203

Does anyone know of any bargain baking sets? A family member has just asked for some baking stuff (tins etc)

Home Bargains had a bundle of Jane Asher baking stuff with free delivery online a couple of weeks ago?

Fuckingfuckssake · 28/11/2020 20:59

Sorry, just looked it's OOS now.

TheLastStarfighter · 28/11/2020 21:03

Home Bargains have cases of

12 Hot chocolate bombes

10 melting snowmen (hot chocolate)

I know some people were having difficulty getting hold of them.

I’ve now ordered about 3 years worth of sweets to get up to the free delivery threshold because I wanted the bombes Blush

Having missed out on the Aldi one, I'm looking for recommendations for a raclette grill for DH please. Lots on Amazon but they all look the same to me, so if anyone knows anything about them I'd appreciate any suggestions.

thelegohooverer · 28/11/2020 21:30

I’m very impressed with next- ordered yesterday and the package arrived this afternoon. It probably helps that they had no Black Friday offers and weren’t overwhelmed.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 28/11/2020 21:31

@girlsyearapart Boots have the Fitbit Ace for £50, at least you'd get some Boots points?!

@FindYourPorpoise, I was going to say that I don't live near a Flying Tiger either, but our local M&S have stopped selling their amazing
chocolate flakes and they're not even on Ocado, so I may well have to venture further afield to find both Sad Sad

Resistanceisfruitful · 28/11/2020 21:31

I have a single use code for £10 off a £50 spend at Dorothy Perkins if anyone would like it?

TildaTurnip · 28/11/2020 21:34

Just got the Switch on Very. Had the code ready-couldn’t see where to put it in. Expected another page to enter it and it’s gone through full price and won’t let me cancel.

We got this one from Robert Dyas last year and it went down well.

I have a 4 and 6 year old girl. Ideas could be for the 5 year old rainbowcorns. Comes in different price ranges. Or craft set or aquabeads. Or an orchard game like the supermarket. There's also the unicorn board game, dd got that for her 6 year birthday and has been played with loads. Kinetic sand is also a fun activity.
CupoTeap · 28/11/2020 22:03

Help any ideas for 13 yr old girls? About £10.

Wildlynx · 28/11/2020 22:05

@STARE2016 what about the amazon.co.uk/Lottie-Young-Inventor-Girls-Smart/dp/B081F989H4/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=lottie+dolls&qid=1606600753&sprefix=lott&sr=8-9 Lottie dolls]] mentioned up thread currently at £11 (normally £22) for stem/queen. I've not seen them in action but ordered for my 3 year old and think they'd be fine at 2 without the accessories.

SparklingLime · 28/11/2020 22:08

@Theimpossiblegirl

I ordered the fake oodies from The Online Home Store (place of the weighted blankets). They arrived within days and are so much nicer than the Amazon ones (which I also have for some reason).
Could I ask which brand you got? They have Brentfords, Sienna and Dreamscape in stock:

I'd love the hot chocolate bombes and / or melting snowmen, but they contain gelatine (in the marshmallows) and I'm vegetarian. If anyone happens to come across similar products for about the same price, I'd love to know. Milk or white chocolate, either would be lovely. I've seen something slightly similar but it was vegan, and I've found vegan chocolate can be a bit 'hit or miss'. I might just end up with the chocolate spoon things, which would be fine, but I waaaaant a snowmaaaaan!!!

Thanks to the poster who highlighted the Laithwaites wine offer. What a bargain! 🍷

STARE2016 · 28/11/2020 22:14

The Card Factory were selling hot chocolate snowmen without the marshmallows inside. I think they were £1.49. I'd did make me think I could have just bought hollow chocolate Santa's from Thornton's or wherever rather than spend weeks tracking down the Aldi ones
Theimpossiblegirl · 28/11/2020 22:20

@SparklingLime The Sienna ones.
@Notlongnow1 Thank you.
