Thread 23 - the one where the shops are actually open again

Reastie · 26/11/2020 18:33

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Poundtoy have another 50% off in their Black Friday sale here

WH Smith have £5 off when you spend £30 or £10 off when you spend £50 here

Can anyone recommend a bottle of cava/ Prosecco/ champagne which I could get delivered directly to a friend in the UK? Budget about £20. I was hoping there'd be something interesting on the National Trust website but sadly not! All my Google searches just bring up the supermarkets or Amazon, I was hoping to find something a bit more unusual Grin

Has anyone seen a bargainous milk frother - I e become obsessed over the last 10 or so threads with the need for delicious frothy hot chocolate but have yet to find a deal.

I live in Northern Ireland so no Aldi and even worse the wee hallions won’t even do a delivery to here
Top this with our wee country going back into lockdown at midnight 😭😭😭 i really need the hot choc

Also need a Christmas tree 6/7ft pre lit well filled searched high a low but everything I want is either out to stock or won’t deliver to N Ireland 🤬

ButtonMoonLoon · 26/11/2020 21:09

Thank you, that’s the second mention of this brand! I’m tempted by the IPX8 which look like the latest version- the fact you get a few different size of tips appeals as these are for my ten year old.

I was done for DD but just bought her a Strong Girls Club sweatshirt from mutha hood which is having its annual sale. reduced from £28 to £20 so still quite pricy, but good quality - I have one of their sweats - and supports a UK small biz with an ethos built around empowering girls SmileSmile

SparklingDinosaurs · 26/11/2020 21:19

H&M help please! I’ve just completed a big order and first attempt it said it didn’t process so refreshed and went back in and reprocessed. All good get order confirmed then realise my 20% members discount hasn’t been applied arrrg. This expires at midnight. Customer service closed but auto chat bot replies saying per attached picture. Do I trust them that the discount will be applied?! So annoyed with myself as been waiting ages for this discount Blush

Harry potter lego Clocktower set £56.50 at Argos if anyone is looking for it

DaisyChops · 26/11/2020 21:36

Thanks for the tip about the Argos lego, just got the Harry Potter astronomy tower for £56.50, if it goes cheaper on Amazon tomorrow it's easy to cancel Argos orders so I'll do that but not that impressed so far with amazon Black Friday lego!

WhereTheresAHill · 26/11/2020 21:37

@SparklingDinosaurs if your items are still in stock and you can place the order again I wouldn’t risk it, I’d reorder with the discount then contact them first thing to cancel the first order and get the refund processed ASAP rather than waiting for the items to despatched and then returning

@Christmasmcchristmasface Homebase in Bangor had pre-lit 6/7ft trees in store on Sunday when I was in. I think Asda in Bangor had them in too - they definitely had the right size of trees, but I’m pretty sure one of them was pre-lit. Do IKEA do a pre-lit tree? They’ve confirmed that they are classed as essential retail so are staying open.

jingleballing · 26/11/2020 22:01

Ah thanks @christmasmchristmasface

Anyone have any Lakeland codes going spare ? I thought I was done with Lakeland and now dd has said how cool it would be to have a waffle maker after watching various you tubers eating a tonne of sugar per waffle Hmm

TheLastStarfighter · 26/11/2020 22:05

@Elephanttrunk can you link to the Amazon Lindt / Linder deal please? I can’t see it.

Christmasmcchristmasface · 26/11/2020 22:07

@BalaamsAss I was in Homebase Bangor this morning and every tree I liked was sold out 🙈
I’ll try Asda on Saturday

Weighing in on soaps

Soho soaps are a good plastic free company -
15% off with code VIP15 (hope the code works, it's not too clear what/when it applies to). They do Christmassy bath bombs etc
sohosoaps.co.uk/

Also the best shampoo bar I've tried to date was from little blue hen savonnerie - no deal I'm afraid but it's good stuff
