fluffy in summer ours never cools down - built 2001.

Thanks Fluffy.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 07/12/2020 09:14

Haha Boots your cats do sound so funny. Amongst our family pets my daughter has a rescue guinea pig, he was attacked by his brother and can't live with other piggies because he attacks them. Partly he used to miss out on food so he always knows when it is food time. My daughter fell asleep early the other night and we could hear him crashing about because he wanted his bedtime feed 🤣

WreckTangled · 07/12/2020 09:19

Good luck why! I'm sure you'll be brilliant

pussycatinboots · 07/12/2020 09:19

why, Charlie didn't ever meow until we took him to the vet in May (he was 6) he's not bloody stopped since😹 Tilly has always done all of the talking and chatters away at me all day long. It's so peaceful when they're asleep. Poor piggy, fancy being kept waiting by your human slave! shocking 😂

NerosFiddle · 07/12/2020 09:44

Best of luck why.

Both dc are at school this morning so I'm trying to wrap a few presents while I've the house to myself.

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/12/2020 10:02

Good luck today Why

MarshmallowManiac · 07/12/2020 13:45

Afternoon everyone. Foggy here today and still feeling really cold. We put up our Christmas tree last night while listening to Christmas music. Afterwards we watched the Grinch and drank Hot Chocolate, lovely family evening. Have also just signed up with Milk & More.

Good luck on your first day Why and your interview.

Glad you enjoyed your carvery 70

Love Jam Roly Poly Boots seem to have had a cold for 2 weeks, snuffly itchy nose, but seems to be easing now.

Your festive lunch looks lovely Woolly my DC and me would love the seafood. Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 07/12/2020 18:00

Neros, I really need to get wrapping done. It's starting to stress me out a bit as I've got so much other stuff to do before I can get going!

That's hilarious re Charlie, Boots!

I did a two hour wrapping session a couple of weeks ago and another two hours today and I've broken the back of it. There's probably about fifteen or twenty more presents to wrap including one I'm still making and two that are in transit.

It's cards that are starting to stress me out. I only write about a dozen but sitting down and working through the list just doesn't appeal to me. It's the same with doing the marzipan on the Christmas cakes - it's got to be done this week but I haven't got the motivation.

WreckTangled · 07/12/2020 18:28

I'm also starting to feel a bit stressed thinking about all the wrapping/cards/work etc etc that I have to do. Trying to think what I can get dh to take on. Also I have the biggest pile of washing to fold.

I've just finished the queens gambit so need something else now.

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/12/2020 19:06

We watched The Undoing after we finished The Queen's Gambit Wreck and I'm bingeing on The West Wing - currently watching the early episodes of season 4 so not even half way through.

WreckTangled · 07/12/2020 19:23

We watched The Undoing as it came out, I really enjoyed it. I might just go back to awful Christmas films but I'm not sure there's any I haven't seen Grin I can watch the dubbed ones on Netflix, of which there seems to be a few atm.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/12/2020 20:04

I quite fancy watching "The Loss Adjuster" film ( it looks a bit along the lines of Love Actually ) if I can get myself to the cinema before Christmas ....dragging DH with me of course Xmas Grin

I'm not stressing about wrapping , I haven't even bought all my presents yet !
DS is fine , DD needs a main present , I haven't got a list for me or DH .

Need to buy cards too .

Marzipan willl be very last minute , probably the 21st then icing on the 23rd ,

why as previous guinea-pig slaves I can definately concur the little blighters are very noisy if they think they're in danger of missing a meal. Even if they have hay and pellets they think they'll suddenly be hurled into an abyss of starvation if their little jaws stop chomping for five minutes .

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 07/12/2020 20:18

70 the piggy in question was happily yawning earlier, stuck his paws out then collapsed onto his side for an after veggies snooze. So cute.

WreckTangled · 07/12/2020 20:21

I find wrapping hard now because dd usually isn't asleep until 9 and I don't want to start wrapping after that and the only day off I've got without them now before Christmas is the 18th which is dh's birthday planning on a trip to town to actually visit some shops plus the dc finish at 2 that day. No idea when I'm going to do it. Argh.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/12/2020 21:37

Awww why you've got to love a well fed guinea-pig ...and marvel at the amount of pooh that comes out of them Grin

One of my little boars was jet black with a fatty eye .(White bit at the edge of the eyelid)
He yawned the top of his head off showing his bright white teeth and rolled up like a little croissant to sleep .

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 07/12/2020 23:02

70 The piggy in question had a Christmas photo shoot last week

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 08/12/2020 06:03

Hi all. Sorry for being absent so long! Had a bit of a breakdown in work last week due to stress and am currently on sick leave. Have handed in my resignation and have an interview for a casual midday supervisor role in a primary to keep me in the workforce but give me time to work on the issues that made me so stressed. Have a GP consultation on Thursday (earliest I could get).

Bit scary as we will basically be living off DH's salary although this is doable. He is currently in the interview process (multiple interviews) for a better paid job. Feel such relief that I don't have to go back to work, start to panic if I even think about it.

On the plus side my wrapping is coming along well as I find it calms me down.

How are all of you? Not long to go now :)

WreckTangled · 08/12/2020 06:23

Sorry to hear that most. You r done the right thing and Shane on your work putting so much pressure on you like that.

Morning!

Most, I'm sorry to hear that you're off sick and have had to resign. Your school / head have been shockingly unsupportive since the pandemic started. I'd hope you resigning might kick them up the arse, but I imagine they'll always look to blame the person in some way rather than look at how their (in)actions have contributed to it. You're better off out of there.

Good luck with the interview.

It's set to be wet here all day. Still cold too. Delightful!

Most, sorry you've been pushed to resign. Take a little bit of time for yourself. 💐

It's been chucking it down here, but was supposed to be frosty 🤔 I think seaweed might be more accurate than a forecast.

why, that's a very photogenic piggy 😹 the cats are thankfully asleep on the dining room table this morning.

WreckTangled · 08/12/2020 06:59

I love the guinea too!

CrazyBaubles · 08/12/2020 08:46

Morning.

Woolly your festive lunch looked amazing.
I'm also binge watching The West Wing. I've never seen it before - am getting to the end of season 2 now and thoroughly enjoying it.

why how cute is your piggy 🥰

most we know you won't have taken that decision lightly - I hope knowing you've resigned takes the edge off for you.
I think lots of schools are going to lose good staff for similar reasons - schools really aren't looking after their staff at the moment 💐

I was MIA yesterday. I have a horrible cold which has become a congested pressure headache. I want to get back in to bed so badly!
Quite pleased to say my cards have all been written, the ones to people far away have been posted, presents are 90% bought and wrapped, parcels were posted yesterday for people we won't see and my decs are all up.
The downside of that is that my house is a mess - but DHs cold had become a tickly cough and he's been told he can't go to work until he's had a Covid test so he's having that this morning then I think he'll pick up the housework or I'm going to kick off

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 08/12/2020 08:52

Most sorry you have had to resign, but a job like that without any back up is unsustainable. Hope the interview goes well today.

He is a lovely piggy isn't he. He is very snuggly as he and likes to be wrapped in a blanket for a cuddle.
