Evening!

New thread here. I'm pretty sure this one breaks all previous records!

Afternoon everyone. Dry here today, also boiler leaking so had to call a plumber out. Trying to start my wrapping and also putting up pictures that have been in the box all year since moving I feel that we will definitely go into tier 3 after lockdown so no change then Also my daughter is showing symptoms and has had a test this morning. Sad

If I was a cynic I would say the sameWoolly luckily I'm not. Grin Grin

Three households can mix over Christmas 🎄

I think it's madness, frankly and I've been conditioned out of seeing people indoors!

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/11/2020 18:32

We are staying put. It's too much of a risk to MIL with DD1 and 2 coming into contact with hundreds of people on a daily basis through their jobs. It's disappointing but hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel and we can have a family gathering possibly at Easter next year.

The Fluffy/Woolly balance will be maintained - just not in the usual way.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/11/2020 18:34

Yes! First year in ages we won't have balanced the NW / EM population out! Xmas Sad

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 24/11/2020 18:35

I think it's madness too. There's already threads where people aren't getting it (going back to my Venn diagram analogy) thinking they can see three families and one of those families can also see three families 🤦🏽‍♀️

BiddyPop · 24/11/2020 19:19

I took a carload home from storage this morning and spent the afternoon wrapping watching Netflix Xmas movies. I am not as bad as I feared, but still have to finish crafts and buy for a few (both of which are required to be able to send the overseas parcels!!). So I don’t think I’ll be early posting after all.

Turkey (breast joint only) bought for Thursday too.

DH asked how i intended sending parcels in this country (I was thinking courier for 2 large ones), and was a bit Xmas Hmm at me at lunch, but given this evenings announcements (only potentially allowing inter-county travel just before Christmas itself - only dropping to level 3 next week), he thinks I may be doing the right thing.

Lots of rain here now ☔️ but I found the candles 🕯 box when I was rooting earlier, so it’s cosy indoors. (Much needed day off).

SpnBaby1967 · 24/11/2020 19:20

The bubbles for xmas thing doesnt affect me as my family are all off doing their own things anyway, and my best friend is in my support bubble. But if I did have people who I could see I totally would do and we'd party it hard until we could party no more!! Xmas Grin but hey ho, quite xmas just us and the kids.

BiddyPop · 24/11/2020 19:22

Neros any good local artisan producers you could spend your voucher?

pussycatinboots · 24/11/2020 19:31

Biddy, it sounds a lot more strict there than here. I was surprised this morning by the amount of traffic on the roads locally compared to March/April. I love candles, but they have to be on the mantle shelf or one or other cat Charlie will singe their fur🤦🏻‍♀️😻 he's adorable but not the brightest.

Fluffy & Woolly, do you normally meet half way? Just to keep the equilibrium obvs😉

CrazyBaubles · 24/11/2020 22:21

Sounds like you’ve had a nice (and productive) day Biddy

Dsis and her bf have had an argument because although we’ve broken the rules by maintaining our extended bubble, we have stuck to that as far and not mixed elsewhere but her bf wants her to also see his parents and brothers families (and have all the dc mixing). She’s said no because her bf’s dad is very very high risk (finished chemo literally a month ago) and his brother works and ‘doesn’t believe’ in Covid 🙄

I picked up my cross stitch for the first time in a few weeks tonight. Didn’t do very much but it was a nice change crochet. Will try and do more in the next few evenings..

WreckTangled · 25/11/2020 07:22

30!!!

I need to wrap ds' presents today and get his balloon and pick up his cake. Plus have parents evening later for dd. Luckily wfh so will have more time than usual.

I'm trying to find galaxy ear buds + cheaper than they currently are but I'm not having any luck £118 on Amazon atm.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/11/2020 07:43

Morning!

No run today due to my cold and it was raining! The sneezing has reached ridiculous levels now. 🙄

Maybe they'll drop on Cyber Monday, Wreck?

CrazyBaubles · 25/11/2020 07:56

Morning. Had a confused conversation with DH to start the day. He woke me, I wasn't happy because it was 5:45. He insisted it was 6:45. After 5 mins of tired snapping it turns out he was right but my clock has randomly lost an hour 🙄

I take it you've got a full on cold now Fluffy? That's rubbish- hopefully it'll be out of the way so you're fine for Christmas.

£118 is a bit steep Wreck! Fingers crossed that you find them cheaper 🤞🏼

WreckTangled · 25/11/2020 08:00

Oh no crazy Grin

They might do but they're already on offer. On Amazon they have blue ones for £99 but one of the reviews says they're European not UK so the warrantee is void Hmm I'm not sure I would trust it.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/11/2020 08:07

Oh no, Crazy. How annoying and disappointing all in one!

And yes, full on, fuzzy-headed cold. It's miserable! I'm assuming a small child brought the germs into the house!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 25/11/2020 08:22

I've got your cold, fluffy and I think I've shared it with DH judging by the sneezing.🤧😂🤧😂🤧
Crazy pity about the extra hour in bed.😳

CrazyBaubles · 25/11/2020 08:28

I know, I was so warm and snuggled in I could easily have just gone back to sleep and that doesn't happen often for me.
Glad DH woke me though (I can say that now I'm fully awake and have had a cuppa)!

Puss & Fluffy you have my sympathy, colds are awful. The sneezing and sniffing I can handle, it's the heavy, congested, fuzzy headed feeling I hate.

NerosFiddle · 25/11/2020 09:45

Ds and dd also have a cold. They're sitting under a blanket watching some awful kids show on prime.

We're not getting our vouchers until the end of January. It'll be a good wee bonus after Christmas.

pussycatinboots · 25/11/2020 10:08

Nero Have you decided what to do with £200 of cheese yet? 😂

NerosFiddle · 25/11/2020 11:07

Boots think I should spend £200 here??* Grin

WreckTangled · 25/11/2020 11:11

Ok the galaxy buds on Amazon are all down to £99 but again the reviews aren't great I can get them direct from Samsung with my blue light discount for £110 so I think I'll do that. That'll be dh's birthday present.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/11/2020 11:34

Which ones are they, Wreck? I'd hold off until tomorrow / Monday, just in case.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 25/11/2020 11:53

Galaxy buds plus. I've already bought them, everywhere has their Black Friday deals out already and these were part of those

BiddyPop · 25/11/2020 12:28

Happy Rudolph Day all!! Xmas Grin Only 1 month to go!!

Another busy work day here, but sunny (and COLD!!). I need to spend Saturday afternoon sewing as DH has a public consultation tonight (I'd be in the next room), tomorrow is Thanksgiving and Friday is takeaway and wine. But I have 4 things I need to finish to send off in my overseas parcels that need to go (3 for the urgent one, 1 for the other that could wait 1 more week). I just seem to have lost all time (and inclination) to craft recently. Physio this morning was painful, but I do seem to be moving better the past few days (I hadn't been blowdrying my hair for a good few weeks, which I realised this morning as I was able to hold my arms up enough to dry it today).

My Christmas mugs came out yesterday, and I brought home both DD's advent calendar (I think she would appreciate it this year) and the Jolly Rodger Santa flag as well (I'll use the flag at Cubs Christmas gathering somehow - make some end of year fun!!!).
