I put mine up on Monday. Nothing to look forward to this year so why the hell not Confused mother thinks I've gone mad because im usually the grinch who puts the tree up 12 days before the big day.

It's made me happy this week with its twinkle and sparkles Smile

I've caved and it's up now! Just waiting on a few more bits from eBay and it'll be all Christmassy.

I have a little potted one up in the hallway with some lights and baubles but the main one won't go up for a while yet. Not because I want to wait until December, but because we are still doing building work in the living room. I keep trying to hurry my husband along though so that I can get the big tree up ASAP Grin

No -because it lessens the impact, destroys the magic.
I alsways buy a huge real tree just 10 days or so before christmas, and is is a big event.
The smell of pine floods the house, it really feels like the start of the festive season. A huge magnificent thundering tree ( grown locally and sustainably) has a big impact.
Putting up a bt of plastic on a stick with twinkly lights half way
through November doesn't cut it for me I'm afraid.

If you enjoy it, why not?

We get a real tree so don't get it til a couple of weeks before Christmas. I start putting up decorations on 1st December. I am really chomping on the bit this year! But I don't think I can put them up any earlier - DS and I have ASD and it would feel really wrong to us - we like our routine! Not long to go now!

No I put mine up at the start of December and take them down at the end of January. My husband is disgusted I insist on keeping it up through January, he would probably file for divorce if I put it up now!

Bah humbug. I felt really annoyed when I saw one twinkling away at a window the other day. What is the matter with these folk. Have they nothing better to do.

Chottie · 12/11/2020 19:48

OP - you are not alone.

DP and I go for a walk every evening and I'm playing 'spot the Christmas tree'. Every night we spot a new set of Christmas lights to admire. Our lights will be up the first week in December :)

I must be the only person not to have spotted a single house with a Christmas tree up yet!

Me too

South east town, close to London?! London and surrounding towns.... not a Christmas in sight. And that’s a good thing. December... ramp it up and get the children really excited. Surely must hugely dilute the excitement when the tree and secs have been up for two months before Christmas Day?

@MistyGreenAndBlue just wanted to thank you for your candle tip - they arrived yesterday and are really lovely!!! Couldn't be happier - winter is looking brighter for me now. Thanks! Grin
