Last Yr me and dh didn't buy for eachother as we had a lot of debt and had moved home

This Yr we've cleared the cards. Got the house to a decent standard, done all the kids Xmas shopping so we've agreed on 100 each for xmas

We did say we wernt helping with the ideas but he's honestly awful at gift buying and I'm really not materialistic and want things. He's begging for help for ideas.
But I honestly have no ideas.

I'm not one for having loads of clothes because I'm fussy. Tend to just buy in supermarkets ( plus the kids tend to get stains on me etc)
Footwear hard as I have a painful foot so live in trainers.

I don't wear make up or wear jewellery.
Rarely get hair done, because I simply don't have time as dh works 6 days and only has Sundays off when salon closed. I can occasionally get a sitter for a wash and cut but not 3 hours for a color so home dye.

I like candles, pjs and slippers. That's it. And I've just had a birthday and got all that.

What else is there?
I need inspiration

I really want a Diptyque candle Grin
I would like some Hermes du Jour absolut, some silk undies from M and S, and some small diamond studs.
I’ve seen some beautiful kimono dressing gowns on Etsy, so yes to one of those.
I would also like an ethical feather duvet, and some new bedding.
And lots of books and plants.

RickOShay · 01/11/2020 20:10

And rose facial oil.

smeerf · 01/11/2020 20:14

It's mostly house stuff, I have 2 under 3 and still losing the baby weight so clothes would be a waste.
Reed diffusers / child safe things to make the house smell nice
A Wyatt and Jack XL Tote for the beach/playground/generally chucking all our stuff in
A Dupray Neat steam cleaner
Face masks, bubble bath etc for my 30 mins of peace once they're in bed.

SpnBaby1967 · 01/11/2020 20:15

Posh versions of your toiletries?

Handbag? (Radley have nice ones in their sale)

ancientgran · 01/11/2020 20:16

Chocolate sachertorte from Betty's. No one is going to buy it for me so I think I'm going to buy it myself. I will no doubt get books I'm not interested in, perfume I don't wear and a voucher to go to the arse end of nowhere for a cream tea. It's the thought that counts and I will thank them and say how lovely. I can't say anything else or they will wonder why I've been saying lovely for years.

A tattoo. And I have a sneaky inclining that DP has booked me one!

HotPatootiebootie · 01/11/2020 20:20

I really want some ravioli stamps and a pasta machine.

A cast iron tray for Yorkshire puddings.

Dutch oven for bread making.

New Bread lame and banetone set.

All metal hand blender/multi tool.

A new laptop.

Penhaligons - Oud de nil.

Cross botanical fountain pen.

Beautiful note books.

Pyjamas.

Fluffy warm socks.

A towelling dressing gown that is so thick it looks like it needs to mowed.

Stained glass starter kit.

Godiva chocolates.

A top notch car valet.

Other than that not much 😂

SunshineOutdoors · 01/11/2020 20:23

Magazine subscription (I like Modern Gardens but pick one you want), a house plant, le creuset pans, perfume, knitting/sewing complete kits, cool pots for house plants.....fuck me I'm 38 and still feel young but my wish list says otherwise

ShinyGreenElephant · 01/11/2020 20:25

I want a good coffee machine, tooth whitening voucher for when its allowed (get them done every other year due to all the coffee!), a weighted blanket, a massage, a spa day/night with DD, a Dyson airwrap, really good headphones, new running trainers, some audible credits, maternity clothes that don't look like I'm wearing a collection of sacks, posh candles for the bedroom and bathroom, really nice new bedding and a rug for the living room.

But I'll ask for vouchers and spend them on the kids like I always do 🤷‍♀️

Glitterbubbles · 01/11/2020 20:25

Bath bombs because I can never justify buying them for myself
Hotel chocolat selectors (ditto)
One of the roasting tin cookbooks
New walking socks
Maybe a new flannel shirt

Glitterbubbles · 01/11/2020 20:26

Oooooh and a new casserole dish or a pan that can go on the hob then into the oven to act as a casserole dish

I live an exciting life Grin

SunshineOutdoors · 01/11/2020 20:29

@Glitterbubbles you need a le creuset casserole dish. £££ but I got one as a gift for my 30th, am nearly 39 now and use it lots. If you have an oulet nearby you could get one for around £100

MirandaMarple · 01/11/2020 20:31

Bottle of wine/gin, chocolates, flowers. Simple but timeless gifts. Everything else I but it myself. I don't make a list, I'm not 5.

MaverickDanger · 01/11/2020 20:33

I’m pregnant with my first and due to give birth around Christmas, so my list is a bit different to previous years, where I’d ask for more clothes.

I’ve bought myself a stocking of Elemis skincare goodies.

From DH:
Protected Species raincoat for lots of walks
Chocolates
Electric toothbrush

From DParents:
PJs
Slipper socks
Borg hoody
Molton Brown Bath oil and bath salts

If anyone else asks, probably vouchers from JL, ASOS, Next or Kindle.

fairydustandpixies · 01/11/2020 20:36

To be able to travel to visit my family.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 01/11/2020 20:38

I want PJ's and slippers and aldi chocolate. Some nice shampoo and conditioner that I ask for every year. Some nice hair masks too to make my damaged hair smell and feel lovely 😚 that's it really. I don't want or need much else. DH is buying me a tactical watch for work too which I'm excited about.

Ninkanink · 01/11/2020 20:38

Cashmere scarf.

Good pair of boots.

A watch.

Half of a Barbour cape.

Half of a Russell & Bromley handbag.

SpeedofaSloth · 01/11/2020 20:42

Slippers
A nice mug
Some books from my Amazon wishlist
Some nice chocolates
A Swatch (because I never had one in the 80s)

CuteOrangeElephant · 01/11/2020 20:42

I collect Harry Potter Lego so I'm getting the latest part of the castle. I find it very relaxing to build Lego, like a more fun puzzle.

Other than that: Nordic ware baking tins are very pretty. I might get one this year

GuyFawkesDay · 01/11/2020 20:45

I'd like a boring, uneventful 2021, please.

Krazynights34 · 01/11/2020 20:47

I do have a list (in my head - none of it will materialise):
Mint Velvet trainers
Kate Spade earrings
Elizabeth Strout books
Soft, fluffy, comfy throws
Slippers that don’t make my feet sweat

mortifiedmam · 01/11/2020 20:50

A plumber to fix the toilet.

TidyOmlette · 01/11/2020 20:51

Perfume
Facial cleansing brush
Liz Earle face products

Doilooklikeatourist · 01/11/2020 20:52

We decided last year , not to buy each other presents , but go away once a month or go out for a treat once a month .... big mistake ....
I would like
Jo malone scented candle
Slippers
Waterproof trousers ( it's been impossible to go out for a walk this last 10 days , and as we will probably be in lockdown on and off for a while ...)
