Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

I'm thinking that Why maybe died! 😱

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 19/10/2020 18:25

Keeping everything crossed the training course didn't actually finish why off!

Circuit breaker official here now and starting on Friday. Just waiting to find out how it will affect work.

pussycatinboots · 19/10/2020 18:42

why are u ok hun? Grin
fluffy I expect she's just in a boredom-induced coma - once someone wafts some cake under her nose, she'll be fine.
most I watched the briefing, it sounds quite complicated as to which years are in, which are off and which are being taught remotely. 🤷🏻‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 19/10/2020 18:53

I can confirm that Why isn't dead. Hurrah!

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 19/10/2020 18:54

Yay Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/10/2020 19:11

Hurrah for why not being dead!

How is everyone on lockdown/tier 3 coping? Here in tier 1 land things are ok. DS had his flu jab today and ate a giant bar of chocolate to console himself 🐷

DD2 opened the Bucks Fizz yesterday - for quality control purposes as I'm sure you folks will understand 😂 Fluffy will you give me a nudge if/when it drops in price, please?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/10/2020 19:20

I survived to tell the tale. Boots is right I was revived by cake being wafted under my nose. Always a winner.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/10/2020 19:22

Here is the scarf Crazy.

Countdown to Christmas 2020 (Thread 12): the one where all of the GHs have finally arrived!
CrazyBaubles · 19/10/2020 19:25

Thank you for the love for the cushion. I'm a bit 😕 about it because it's grey but it'll suit DSis and her decs (grey living room, tree dec'd in white).

why you survived the training 🥳 - now the important question - what cake??
Love the scarf, it looks so cosy Xmas Smile

Circuit breaker here, but only for years 9, 10 and 11. No difference to DH which both of us are happy about!

I'm about to start cross stitching - I'm being really rubbish with it and need to find my motivation again...

NoWordForFluffy · 19/10/2020 19:26

The scarf looks taller than mum, Why!

Woolly, I don't go in M&S much now as I'm WFH. If I see it drop I'll let you know though. I hope I don't have to pay full price!

At least you have half term during lockdown, Most. Saves you one week of headaches!

pussycatinboots · 19/10/2020 19:37

why Well done on surviving the course. The scarf looks lovely. If you fancy it, I've the pattern for the Doctor Who scarf that Tom Baker wore it's very brown Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/10/2020 19:39

Lovely scarf Why. I like the colours

Crazy I love your Christmas cushion. Did you work from a pattern or did you freestyle?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/10/2020 20:01

Fluffy the scarf does look longer than mum, it does look less long once adorning a neck. Boots, I may wait till I am more proficient before tackling the Dr Who scarf, I will let you know. Fluffy did buy me a huge more colourful version of the the scarf quite a few years ago.

NerosFiddle · 19/10/2020 20:18

Evening all.

I always wanted a dr who scarf. They sold them at a Comic-Con I was at years ago but they were £££

The south of Ireland is going into a full lockdown apart from schools from Monday. Biddy how does it affect you?

So is Wales keeping the schools open too?

NoWordForFluffy · 19/10/2020 20:42

Tier 3 is much the same as life was before, Woolly! I don't get out much to notice a difference to be honest.

Christmas is the thing we're all concerned about, however.

I'm busily looking at the London predictions , they keep telling us we're going up a level and some areas ( not where I live but where I work) are very high infection rates .

I managed to find some winter bedding . Couldn't find any jersey ones that I liked , don;t fancy micro fibre so I bought brusked cotton, keep the same duvet (4.5 tog) and hope the pattern hides the male cat's paw prints.
Going to wash at the laundrette first , I think it will take forever in my machine and be so heavy .

Idly making lists I don't want to be shopping too early but this year I am definately not leaving it too late Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 19/10/2020 20:53

70 hopefully London will stay where it is until I've been for my trip on Friday Grin

Tier 1 here and you can basically do what you like. I did walk into a shop today without my mask on (in my own world!) and the shop assistant called me out. I was so embarrassed but suitably apologetic I think!

I love that cushion so much crazy

Why those colours are lovely!

You're all so talented I can't make anything.

CrazyBaubles · 19/10/2020 21:04

Cushion was done freestyle Woolly. I saw a pic of something similar on Pinterest but it was on a solid front of SC and I don't have the patience for that so I adapted it into a c2c base and altered the shape from square to a shorter rectangle for speed - I'm still a fairly slow crocheter and a never ending project list!

Neros Nursery, Infants and Primary schools remain open in Wales, and Comprehensives / High Schools are open for the 2 youngest years to attend.

Thank you Wreck 😊 The cushion is kind of growing on me not enough for me to want to keep it though

DH got told off the other day for no mask. He said he just walked into the pharmacy without thinking and the lady there was very harsh 😂

WreckTangled · 19/10/2020 21:06

Luckily this lady was really nice, I remembered just as she was saying 'can I ask that you...' she did say some people have been really rude to her when she's asked them so I can imagine you'd immediately have your guard up when asking someone to put one on.

NerosFiddle · 19/10/2020 21:59

Dh asked someone to put on a mask a couple of weeks ago, he laughed in his face and told him to f*ck off. Angry

apumpkinaday · 19/10/2020 22:37

Hi, I hope it’s okay if I join you?. I know mrs from another thread and she said I could join in. I’ve currently finished all my Christmas shopping but I’m in self iso so I’m finding that online shopping is getting me through and I may end up adding a few more bits and bobs to the collection.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/10/2020 23:07

I wore DD's mask the other week when I'd forgotten mine! I've not forgotten to put one on yet though. I'm sure I will though!

Some people are so rude, Neros. 😡

Morning!

I've had almost-8 hours sleep again. I don't know what's got into me! I was exhausted last night again though.

Crazy, I'm struggling to cross stitch too. I think because I've known I need sleep!

It was really wet overnight. But should be dry today, I think.

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 20/10/2020 06:35

Wreck I forgot to put my mask on in Morrisons...it was on my wrist. Blush I was so preoccupied by faffing with the bags and the trolley and finding my list.🤦🏻‍♀️
I've had a day or two off from stitching. I don't think relying on artificial light helps.
I nodded off watching TV last night Blush but still managed 8hrs solid.

WreckTangled · 20/10/2020 06:45

I got 7 hours and 40 minutes.

I went into H&M yesterday and got ds a lovely jumper and some pj's. Will keep them for his birthday. We told them about London last night and they're really excited, I've booked the Tower of London.
