Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

What's going on with us lot and sleep?! We're normally the insomniac (kind of!) gang! 😴

Boots, I went sleep on the sofa initially, then went up to bed. I sometimes get so tired that I need a snooze to get the energy to go upstairs!

Hi pumpkin, by the way!

You're welcome to join, but Mrs left the thread a couple of weeks ago, so doesn't post here anymore. Don't be surprised that she's not here, even though she told you she was!

fluffy I was like the walking dead yesterday! It's time for the clocks to change - I'm sure that has something to do with it.
Possible that bits of Yorks, Notts and Warrington will be in Tier 3. We're 2, but nothing really has changed for us. I wonder when Tier 4 will be announced? 🤔 in line with Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland

Thanks fluffy, she told me she doesn’t post much anymore so I won’t be surprised she’s not here but thank you for letting me know Smile

She doesn't post at all as she's had a bit of a strop!

Oh okay, if you’re happy to have me anyway I’m happy to stay even if she doesn’t post.

I'm nowhere near finishing my Christmas shopping. I have so much to do need for properly think about it.

wreck I got really stressed a couple of weeks back thinking that with COVID we wouldn’t be able to get much shopping so I did it all in one go. I’m just waiting for the last few bits to be delivered and then I need to find somewhere to hide them.

Good morning!

Am I allowed to join? I usually do under a different name each year but I am a bit late this time!

Speaking of previous posters, there was a lovely lady who used to post her meals for that day and she loved the Sainsburys cafe. Is she still around?

Morning. I'm having a bit of a slow start to the day. I also slept a lot (for me) - a solid 7 hours!

It's raining here so I'm not looking forward to the dog walk on my lunch break today.

Neros my dm works in a shop and was given the job of greeting people at the door, explaining the one way system and checking everyone was wearing a mask. She said she was sworn at, for eye rolls and called a jobsworth a lot, and also that people tried to ignore her completely and just walk passed (dm is not a woman to be ignored so I'm pretty sure that didn't go very well). People are just awful.

Ooh I've never done the Tower of London Wreck but I'd like to.

Welcome pumpkin

Super that poster, PSB, hasn't been around for a while.
What were your previous names? See if you can jog our memories!

Morning.

Dear lord Crazy, your poor mum. My DC eyeroll when I go off on one about it but politeness costs nothing - especially to people who are just doing their job and haven't been rude in the first place. DD2 has also found herself listening to rants and conspiracy theories on her supermarket shifts.

Exactly, Woolly. Some people need to get a grip. Drives me mad.

I'm done for the kids. And just one thing to get for DH. Plus Why's birthday (we've discussed this and know what it is!) and gift cards for my parents to buy books. Oh, and we need to order our photo calendars too. Then I am done!

Forgive me Mumsnet, for I have sinned.

I have been to Sainsburys and bought Christmas bedding and PJs that clash.🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂😂

Morning folks. Getting ready for a 12.00 - 22.00 shift at a Crisis Cafe. Really hoping it is a sedate one today. Boots loving the pj's and bedding combo. Matching is over rated.

Report
TheWoollybacksWife · 20/10/2020 10:13

They are both beautiful Boots. You don't want your PJs to match - you'd be camouflaged lying on the bed and your DH would never know you were there.

I'm mostly done shopping. I need to get DH's presents (but I'm still waiting for him to think of stuff) and I think I've found something to replace the usual cinema vouchers for my nephews and nieces. I've got a trip out planned with my DDs next week where we will be buying something specific for their stockings and DD1 needs to decide whether she'll get much use from the National Trust membership she thought she wanted. Then it's a trip to the sweet shop and the December issue of some magazines for stockings and I'm done.

Ooh. Sweets. I may need to go to Wilko at half term for half price pick'n'mix if they do it. I'll fill the jar that currently has raspberry vodka in it that I got for the purpose last year!

Woolly, I need DH's input too re his present. Awkward git.

Boots, I concur with our fellow posters that matching isn't needed! Ever, ha ha.

Bugger, I hadn't thought of that...
I may have to buy a green duvet cover with gingerbread man motif so I can hide when it's my turn to empty the litter trays 🤔

Do you remember the "Laura Ashley" sketch on tv, where everything was in the same Chintz pattern?😂

Crazy everywhere should have a zero tolerance policy. Dh can't refuse to serve them because it's an essential service. He worked outside Liverpool years ago and was spat on, attacked you name it.

I need to think of something to buy Dh. I was going to buy him a switch but I think it's just too much money.

After the announcement last night our Christmas trip to Center parcs has been cancelled.

I have an elf duvet cover. It scared the life out of Dh. He thought there was a man laying in our bed Grin

@TheWoollybacksWife

But how would he see you to bring you a cup of tea in bed?

He is not the tea-in-bed provider.
If he gets up first he shouts up the stairs and puts the mug on the hall table.

Neros If you lie tucked in bed with just your head sticking out do you look like an elf?😂😂

Oh also I hit a pheasant today. I was going 60mph so it didn't stand a chance. I may have done a little squeal. The roads are completely orange with leaves, it's very breezy today.

Report
apumpkinaday · 20/10/2020 16:04

crazy thank you for my welcome, that’s really horrible about what happened to your mom. I work in a school and parents are required to wear masks when it’s drop off/pick up and we have had a few who refuse, it’s a nuisance.

I have a couple more presents to get, one of my grandads died last week so I want to spoil one of my Nans (his wife) this year to make her feel a bit better. I won’t go overboard but more than the usual tin of biscuits she gets.

I really like them pyjamas boots, do you mind me asking how much they were?.

neros sorry to hear about the centre parcs trip, I want to book a few things up for Christmas but I’m worried about cancellations. My DM has a switch and I would say it is worth the money.

I don’t think there’s pheasants near me wreck, but the roads here are covered in leaves too.

I’m thinking of getting a few items of clothing for the DC and then wrapping them up for extra presents, maybe stuff with characters on so it’s a bit more special.

WreckTangled · 20/10/2020 16:07

Where are you pumpkin? Pheasants galore round here. A few partridges this morning too. Plus usually deer, buzzards, red kites, badgers etc. You name it we've got it!
