Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

I've not made them. Do you mean stuffed or flat ones?

I've still no clue how Nottingham is avoiding Tier 3. Baffling to me. 🤷‍♀️ They're more than twice as bad as my Tier 3 borough.

I've spent £56 of Nectar points on a karaoke machine for DD for Christmas. It plays CDs as well, so hopefully we won't be subjected to the singing all the time. 😂😂

I'm going to investigate the Sainsbury's toy sale tomorrow when I'm having my flu jab (third time lucky!). Hopefully I'll get the Barbie limo.

Neros I think it was on the Poncetastic thread that someone posted about 12 days of Christmas felt decorations. They looked amazing and you can buy them as kits - individually or as a full set.

If you're looking for something you can make with your children then Baker Ross might have something suitable. Maybe The Works too (I think they may also have a felt tree kit)

CrazyBaubles · 16/10/2020 22:02

Wreck I think the circuit breaker is definitely coming, just waiting for them to actually confirm it.

Neros I've never attempted felt decorations. Any pics of what you're considering?

I saw the ones Woolly mentioned on the poncetastic thread and they are lovely.

Good luck with the Karaoke machine Fluffy - Dsis bought one for nephew when he was around 5. I love him but 🙉 (and she's a glutton for punishment as she gets it out now and again for niece who is, erm, enthusiastic 😂

I can't motivate myself to cross stitch, not sure why. I'm literally just vegging on the sofa faffing on my phone while DH watched The Hangover

NerosFiddle · 16/10/2020 22:05

Woolly this is what I saw on Twitter. It's the Irish president Michael D.

Fluffy why did you do it to yourself? 😂

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 16/10/2020 22:11

Hi folks. Found you. You have been busy chatting away whilst I was at work today. Made it to my weekend off thankfully. I am very tired but I only need to dye my hair and clean my son's cockatiel out so I plan to slob on the sofa watching TV. I am really annoyed that Ocado released their Christmas slots and the only day available is too soon for me. I have a smart pass as well.

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/10/2020 22:28

Neros I've not seen the felted decoration but I have seen thiss* tea cosy.

Etsy might have something unusual for you. I know they do a felt nativity.

why that's irritating to say the least. I take it they released everything all at once? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Nero I've got a pair of penguins from Hobbycraft in the drawer somewhere Blush I've nearly finished one of them...They're not easy to stitch, really fiddly and you'll need a thimble - which is probably why they haven't been finished for over a year but I'm not a natural with a needle unless it's cross stitchGrin

fluffy Karaoke machine?? GrinGrin I know what you'll need from Santa - noise cancelling headphones Xmas Wink

In exciting news, you can now see the conservatory from the moon Xmas Grin I went for the 240 strand of warm white and it looks like I've left the lights on! DH only got told off twice Xmas Grin, his big feet get everwhere. Xmas Hmm

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 17/10/2020 06:52

The circuit breaker is due to be announced on Monday and is a certainty from what I have seen on the news. Not looking forward to working from home with DS again.

CrazyBaubles · 17/10/2020 07:37

DH is planning online lessons for the week after half term in prep for the circuit breaker most

I've been awake since 6:45. Both DH and Ddog are snoring their heads off so I think I may get up, make a cuppa and cross stitch in peace for a while - I doubt DH will surface before 9 at the earliest and I've absolutely abandoned my cross stitch for about 2 weeks Xmas Blush

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/10/2020 09:37

Boots I guess they must have released them all at once which is no good when you are working. A gradual release would have meant at least there would be a chance I was off on a different day.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/10/2020 09:50

DS wandered through and announced his University has locked down and he'll be online for the next 2 weeks . Need to see what DD has lined up (when she surfaces)

I have a pressure cooker of lentil soup on the hob ( roasted the onions and potatoes last night , they were lush I had to cover them up to stop random sampling Xmas Blush ) and some Linda McCartney mince in the Slow Cooker haven't seen Lind Mc mince for years I hope it's as nice as it was and I can buy it again.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/10/2020 11:08

Morning!

I've been and had my flu jab, finally! I also bought Lego for DD for Christmas. And beer for DH! I spent the last £97 on our Christmas gift card on presents and biscuits / crackers / vegan cream cheese (for baked cheesecake).

I then filled up with fuel, as I already had a 3x points voucher, but got a 4x one in store, so used that. It was only a top-up, but we don't have a Sainsbury’s petrol station here yet, so I did it while I had the chance!

Tired now. And I still need to go into town to collect a variety of things from various shops!

Boots, I'll look out for the news report of your house showing from space. When is the ISS due over?!

Oh, I got a £7 off £50 Argos voucher this morning in the post, so cancelled my first order for the karaoke machine and ordered it again with the discount! The points went straight back onto the card, so I was impressed!

Good bargains fluffy. I want to get dd an instax mini for Christmas, I wonder if it'll go on offer at all? If not I have a small amount in my bank rewards account that I can change for curry's vouchers.

I picked up the boots Christmas catalogue and bought an advent candle this morning.

pussycatinboots · 17/10/2020 13:19

fluffy well done with the clever shopping. Not sure if I need to email them to get the ISS to fly over and take pics? Xmas Grin
why you see, that is what I would have expected - some slots released daily over a few days for each day to check for 1) demand and 2) ensure satisfied customers. Useless arses.
Wreck if it's something she has asked for, I'd cash in the rewards and do it now - if it's not, I'd wait as you can always get something else if the price doesn't drop.

NerosFiddle · 17/10/2020 13:49

Afternoon all.

Someone disgusting person put a full bucket of chicken into Dh car bonet. God only know how long it's been there.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/10/2020 14:17

WTAF, Neros? 🤢

I've been into town and collected everything waiting for me and now I'm off to the local PO to collect the Nintendo Switch from Very. I succumbed with the 10% cashback offer!

We did a present audit and we're done! Other than 2 Switch games, but I think we know which ones we're getting.

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 17/10/2020 14:38

I'm an idiot! Met DH on the corner to take my bags from me, so I could then go to the PO. Only I gave him the Booths books! 🤦‍♀️ We had a rendezvous in the park to give them to me!

MarshmallowManiac · 17/10/2020 22:44

Evening everyone.
Went to the Works today and bought a lot of my chocolate advent calendars/sweets/biscuits and some stocking fillers for Christmas. Also visited Dunelm and they have a lot of lovely Christmas bits in there too, and admired all the puddings in M&S Grin [santa]

Yes I think it's the time to hunker down Neros Smile

CauliflowerCheese30 · 17/10/2020 22:59

Evening!!

The household is not happy with the Liverpool result at all!!

Next door decided to start doing their diy at bloody 8am this morning, they are lovely but it's the fucking weekend!! We'll get them back once we've bought ours and are doing lots of work Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 18/10/2020 07:50

Morning!

It's allotment day today. I've not been for a fortnight so it'll be really messy! But we had the emergency dash down south to see Why and my parents before we were plunged into Tier 3.

I woke up at 3.30 for about 90 minutes. I'm knackered now. 😴

Cauli, tour neighbours sound annoying. Not long til you can get them back though!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 18/10/2020 08:37

Nero Chicken? as in a whole one with feathers or oven ready or KFC? I mean either way it's gross and weird - but I could kind of understand KFC...🍻🥴🤢
Cauli I wasn't happy either, at least DH was pissed off with Chelsea too 😉
fluffy Happy weeding, don't fall asleep in the bath later.🤭
I need to order 20ish more colours for a cross stitch pattern I want to do, and importantly 1 green I need to finish the backstitch on my wreath...I can see this afternoon being expensive (even if I don't leave the house) as I may have been looking at fabrics and other patterns too 🤦🏻‍♀️😳😹

WreckTangled · 18/10/2020 08:55

I've just got up. I went to a friends last night so was home late which as you know isn't like me Grin

My parents are coming round today for lunch so need to pop out and get some bits which is annoying as already spent loads food shopping. Lidl has got really expensive I'm not going to go there again I don't think.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/10/2020 08:58
Xmas Envy
NoWordForFluffy · 18/10/2020 09:02

You need my M&S blue bedding, 70!

Boots, is it DMC? I can check my spares for you? Or I can put you in touch with someone who charges 50p per skein? She doesn't have all colours though. Lakeside Needlecraft is 68p each I think. They have good stock.

Wreck, was it the Instax your DD wants? There's a discussion on the bargain thread at the moment.
