Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

Morning!

God knows why I'm awake, but I am. But, as we are DH is going to fetch the washing in as it may rain before we'd normally get up and it's probably dry / almost dry given the wind overnight!

Your niece sounds adorable, Crazy!

I've barely touched my cross stitch lately. I started a custom one but I detest the colours the software used, so I wasn't doing it much and I've now decided to abandon it and get the photo done by someone you pay to create the pattern. I'm hoping that will be better. It won't be done for mum's birthday though. I'll go back to my mouse one now!

Morning all, DS slept all night on his own and woke after 6!!! This is a miracle in our house.

Love your tree chips! We picked up multicoloured lights in Festive yesterday as this year I want full on nostalgia. No time for tasteful warm white this year Grin

Had a great time at Festive yesterday, came out with a little village scene with lights and music for only £15!

The tree looks great chips

We tried watching jingle jangle yesterday but the dc got bored half way through.

Debating going to Tesco/M&S/health food shop today. Is it going to be awful? Tesco I can queue skip if need be Blush but I can't M&S. I don't mind queuing when it's dry but it's awful out there.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/11/2020 07:29

I queued for about 3 minutes in M&S using self serve. It was quite busy but the manned tills were busier. Getting in there was no queue at all.

WreckTangled · 15/11/2020 07:35

Ok thats good to know. I can go to Tesco from 9 but M&S is 10 and the health food shop is 11 Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 15/11/2020 07:44

I wish there was a universal Sunday opening! Scotland doesn't have our restricted hours. It was mind blowing when we worked that out! 🤯😂

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 15/11/2020 07:52

Yes they really need to get rid of it! I used to hate it when the dc were younger and we'd be ready to go out at 9 but would have to wait until 11 for places to open.

The reason we don't is the SNP voted against it and that swung the vote. Something about protecting jobs (Gretnas giant shopping village) Hmm They have no restrictions so can be open 24hrs 7days.
NoWordForFluffy · 15/11/2020 08:40

Really?! Hmm

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 15/11/2020 08:42

Growing up in Wales I remember nothing being open other than Spar on a Sunday!

WreckTangled · 15/11/2020 08:42

I've been looking at some fake trees on Christmas tree world and they do look really lovely. Plus no needles. However £160 Vs one my dad chops down for free... Maybe when we move house.

NerosFiddle · 15/11/2020 10:27

There's a lot of controversy here about Sunday trading hours. If it was up to the DUP nothing would be able to open on a Sunday.

WreckTangled · 15/11/2020 10:30

The roads are so flooded here. I had to go the long way round and even then it was a bit hairy in my shit small car

MarshmallowManiac · 15/11/2020 10:46

It has lashed rain all night here, and it is so windy here as it is quite high.

That looks fabulous Most, are there any Festive shops in the South East do you know?

pussycatinboots · 15/11/2020 10:53

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄Tree is up HaloXmas Grin
I've bunged the lights on it, and it's star, but will wait until it goes a bit darker to chuck the balls at it so I can fiddle with the lights and get them just right. It's too bright to do that now and a wonkily lit tree will really irritate me for the next couple of months.
most you need one of these - it has your username on Xmas Smile

And one of these too Most! Mine gets used for my hot drinks from 1st December to Epiphany.

WreckTangled · 15/11/2020 11:40

It's a lovely day here now

Countdown to Christmas 2020 (Thread 12): the one where all of the GHs have finally arrived!
NoWordForFluffy · 15/11/2020 12:16

It's lovely and sunny here too. Apparently not meant to last! The bedding is out, however, as the nigh-on gale force wind stiff breeze should dry it quickly!

DD got two sodding Bunchems trapped in her hair this morning. And instead of telling us, sat rubbing her hair on the sofa, getting them well and truly stuck. DH has managed to snip them out and the affected hair now has a shit load of detangling spray on it and is in a freezer bag to keep it damp / humid in a bid to assist the untangling. Sigh.

Hurrah for the tree, Boots!

I've made Yorkshires and Christmas morning muffins so far. I am now tidying the baking / snack cupboard before doing rocky road.

Then it's into the greenhouse to sort that out for winter.

Just doing Cowboy Beans for lunch in slow cooker kids favourite and continuing my writing cards. Am adamant to try and order some of kids pressies today, and to go out for Winter walk before it rains again Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 15/11/2020 12:39

Love some of these mugs too Woolly

FireflyGirl · 15/11/2020 13:09

The chest of drawers I usually put the Christmas tree on is currently our makeshift changing table.

Might have to give this a try! Wink

I always buy DD a Christmas mug she has quite a collection now Xmas Grin
I need to go through our mugs , some are getting a bit gnarly now . I had to throw two out when one of them split down the side when the boiling water was poured in Xmas Shock (they were the same mugs and I didn't trust the other one)

I need some new glasses (drinking type) for Christmas , I've been eyeing some up in TKMaxx so once it re-opens I;ll see if they're still there .

I had LockDown Hair Syndrome , I won;t be battling for an appointment before Christmas but my hair was getting too long and pulling on my poor menopausal scalp so I got DD to cut the back and I did the sides . I wear my hair tied anyway so even if it went PeteTong I could cope .
It looks fine , tiny bit uneven but I'll style it out Xmas Grin
I was losing hair at an alarming rate ( I know there's a natural hair loss rate but I was thinking Bloody Hell that;'s a LOT . )

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/11/2020 13:55

Fire my MaleCat is terrorising a fly on the outside of the french doors all fully stretched up to full height .
He'd make mincemeat of that tree Xmas Grin

CrazyBaubles · 15/11/2020 15:29

Firefly who thinks of ideas like that? Although a friend of mine had one of those 'half trees' so she could put it being a chair when she was living in a teeny tiny bedsit.

Weather is rubbish here. It's been so dark we've needed lights on all day and it keeps hammering down with rain. Not looking forward to walking the dog soon!

Pic of PacMan gloves attached. I need to make the ghosts pupils bigger but aside from that I'm quite pleased with them Xmas Smile
