Thanks @Anydreamwilldo12 for thread title

please read the thread is moving so fast atm and it’s pretty hard to keep up! I was just wondering on people’s thoughts on this so did a super quick questionnaire here . I’m not sure we’ll find a perfect answer to suit everyone but would love your feedback on if it’s an issue or not.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@PurpleBirch thanks for the straws! They are lovely

Tiggles · 02/10/2020 14:49

Oh just seen your next post, I see he has bones already Grin

BeaLola · 02/10/2020 14:53

iamawally re Boden & cash back etc - wasn't sure if this was a recent order you had done ?

it doesnt help for the P&P but once I had ordered 3 items with a 15% off code & literally the next day the same items were still in stock in my size with 25% off them - I reordered them again with the higher discount & returned the originals for a full refund. I felt a bit cheeky but thought apart from my time doing the return it saved me quite a bit - I do appreciate though that you need to be able to fork out initially for the 2 orders & wait for the refund but just a thought.

Penhaligons - yes website always dire - actually worst retailer website ever - I ordered earlier in week & yet to receive however I ordered a lot of rollerballs & lip[ balms in the summer & they took ages to arrive but were beautifully packaged.

BeaLola · 02/10/2020 14:59

Also I am another person looking for advent calendars for a teenage boy. Someone helpfully earlier suggested a popcorn one to me - sorry I can't recall who you are but THANK YOU for suggestion unfortunately he is not a big popcorn fan..

Mens mags: I have done Gardeners World, The Oldie, Top Gear & also Conde Naste Traveller in past for my DF or my DB - always on offers - sometimes a yearly subscription & sometimes a six monthl one

Also for anyone with a visually impaired older person to buy for I found out in lockdown that you can get big print TV guide subscriptions posted out for a year - its not bargainous but it has really helped my DF to see what is on normal tv each day.

Elphaba17 · 02/10/2020 14:59

Thanks for the Amazon heads up. Just ordered the cheesecake brownies and the cinammon buns.

Mumofboys1317 · 02/10/2020 15:00

@SingaporeSlinky

The wax lyrical candles are £20 now! I was hoping they’d come back down to the £4 or £5 mark, missed them first time but would have been perfect for teacher gift, from my penguin-obsessed dc.
Ive too have been keeping an eye on them hoping they would go down. Gutted i missed them.
NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 02/10/2020 15:04

Thanks for all the uni ideas, got lots of little treats to keep her going now.
We aren’t cake fans so here is my Vodafone Bakedin code if anyone wants it
VODN9RT72 - one hour from 3pm

Spam88 · 02/10/2020 15:13

Is there a way around the £2.99 postage for the Vodafone deal?

Shitfuckoh · 02/10/2020 15:32

I keep missing the cinnamon buns, does anyone have the link? Wondering if I keep looking at the wrong link!

GenghisCalm · 02/10/2020 15:41

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin

DS has written his Christmas list, we have a triceratops skull (not a replica), a triceratops horn (you guessed it, not a replica), a highland cow horn and a pick axe 😳 I’m not expecting bargains but would appreciate any ideas?
You can get real cow horns from Amazon in the pet food section Grin
Willow4987 · 02/10/2020 15:54

@Lazysundayafternoons no I haven’t! I’ll keep an eye on it to see if anything goes on offer! Smile

Emma10702 · 02/10/2020 16:00

Thanks for the cupcake & 130 treehouse heads up. Both ordered.

RJnomore1 · 02/10/2020 16:02

Here’s another type of mug cookie from Bakedin - £1.46 the other similar ones are £4.50. Might be a nice gift with a mug?

Tiggles · 02/10/2020 16:10

@BeaLola I have got my boys a build your own remote control car advent calendar. It was more bargainous when I bought it (under 30) from Amazon than the current price for it.

Dolphintrainer · 02/10/2020 16:12

@PurpleBirch Think of it this way - when the 15 and 16 year olds get their McDonald's milkshakes or KFC Crushems home and their takeaway straw turns to mush before they’ve finished it - they’ll be loving whipping those metal straws out!

Dolphintrainer · 02/10/2020 16:14

Sorry - I should have addressed that previous post to @Rockhopper81 🤦🏼‍♀️

ninjaturtlesmum · 02/10/2020 16:31

@Shitfuckoh, I keep missing the buns too but also wonder if I have the wrong link, they are never below £10.99 for me. If anyone has the right link they could post I’d be grateful.

ShellyLou1234 · 02/10/2020 16:39

lotsofthingstolearn · 02/10/2020 16:44

Quite a niche present but I"m looking for a whittling kit for my DS. He absolutely loves forest school etc and think he'd love it. Saw someone recommend this as an idea on an earlier thread- seems quite a lot of options on Amazon (other sellers I"m sure are available) but can anyone recommend a great introductory kit/ book etc for an 8 year old please?

idlevice · 02/10/2020 16:47

Pringles 12day advent calendar any good for teenage boys? Also seen ones with hot chocolate, Ferrero rocher with personalised photo and marshmallow one with option to add candle for toasting.

iamawally · 02/10/2020 16:48

I might try that Bealola thnx, I was in such haste as it said delivery in 9 weeks and I didn't want to miss out but then they came within a week

Notlongnow1 · 02/10/2020 16:49

@lotsofthingstolearn our forest school use a peeler when they start whittling so we got son this and some fire steels last year for his stocking.
