Thanks @Anydreamwilldo12 for thread title

please read the thread is moving so fast atm and it’s pretty hard to keep up! I was just wondering on people’s thoughts on this so did a super quick questionnaire here . I’m not sure we’ll find a perfect answer to suit everyone but would love your feedback on if it’s an issue or not.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Wonder if anyone has used the site werchristmas before. I thought seeing as we probably won't be going to any visit santa, church services, lights switch ons etc this year we could maybe get some decorations for inside our house. Maybe a Nativity set and some lights for the windows. Not sure if their items are good quality or not.

Also if anyone can recommend a bargainous nativity set I'd be really grateful.

Reastie · 30/09/2020 16:06

@BadgerFace we still have a Robert too! Dd says it’s her favourite Christmas present EVER

ScoobySnacker · 30/09/2020 16:13

Typo have various bits and bob's of stationary, water bottles, cushions etc in the sale. Some good stocking fillers for teens. Also 20% off full price items if you subscribe

Apparently they are also putting out their Chrostmas stock by the end of this week so may be worth keeping an eye on in case they go.on starbuys.

whoknows1230 · 30/09/2020 16:23

@Elskerdeg thank you. Knowing I can email rather than phone up makes it a lot easier Grin Blush

thaegumathteth · 30/09/2020 16:30

@ScoobySnacker thanks for the typo reminder. Also anyone who likes FRIENDS they have Christmas tree ornaments for £3 each which are quite cute.

BeGoneDom · 30/09/2020 16:30

@GirlWithTheYellowHat loom bands are currently in the penny sale at Pound Toy. I don't know anything about them so hope they're the right thing you're looking for.

Thanks for the new thread (10 pages in!). I'm off to Home Bargains tomorrow to browse Barbie's and now hot chocolate sets for teacher gifts. I'm stupidly excited about it.

Does anyone have inspiration for an 11 year old boy, ideally £10 max? He likes football, wrestling and Xbox.

LetsPlayBamboozled · 30/09/2020 16:36

Thank you for the buns and uno flip, ladies!

Just wanted to give a heads up for anyone needing an LOL Clubhouse anytime soon. I thought I'd be fine for dd's birthday next week as Smyths had 5 showing in stock, Argos too and there was Amazon for back up. Come Sunday the first two were out of stock locally, can't be delivered and Amazon's has gone up form £55 to £90 Confused The Enterrainer hasn't had stock for weeks (online anyway.)

Thankfully one Argos within 10 miles had stock and we drove round today and picked it up. Just thought I'd mention in case anyone else in similar position!

Originalyellowbelly · 30/09/2020 16:38

@Shufflebumnessie Playmobil have discounts on their bundles, I just ordered the water park bundle for £39.99, should be £54 but if bought separately from Amazon it costs over £84!

JinglesWish · 30/09/2020 16:38

My Ribbon Room order just arrived. Really happy with the quality and price. 100m of beautiful red satin ribbon (edged with gold). It’s going to look perfect with the Kraft paper I ordered from amazon. The Christmas picks are for the middle of the ribbon on main adult presents and the little wooden stars/trees are adhesive and will look very cute on other presents. I like the hessian wine bag too.

Thanks to the PP who recommended it!

@BeGoneDom my 10 year old gamer appreciates a voucher to spend on in app purchases. Feels like a crappy gift, from the givers perspective, but for the receiving child, one of their best, in my experience

Sunshineskies · 30/09/2020 16:41

@Ibelieveinyou oh thank you, they’re great! Like you say, can be used as general gift bags too so might get a few. Will hold off till Xmas and cross fingers for a discount.

Scanner20 · 30/09/2020 16:42

I've just bought one of these on amazon for £23ish and thought I'd post here and it's back up to £32 but if it's something you want then pop it in your basket to watch!

Aldi normally have a nice wooden one in their October toy sale, if not have a look at Lanka Kade. My dream one is the Willow Tree one.

Been on here for years, I voted keep thread as it is xx

JinglesWish · 30/09/2020 16:45

My boots order just arrived. Delighted!! The quality of the Harry Potter range is fabulous. The advent calendar is a birthday gift for a friend. It’s really beautifully constructed and looks more expensive than £40. The smaller bits were in 3 for 2 and are lovely. The bath bombs were £6 and the bubble bath was £8.

Not all of the HP is released yet, I’ll definitely be buying more from the collection. Bought with the recent £10 of free points with every £60 spent!

Another Boots bargain. 3 Benefit mascaras for £33.50.

I bought 4 boxes as gifts with the recent £10 of free points for each £60 spent.

Does anyone know of a not too speedy cheese subscription? I'd love to give my DF one but they're all £££.

Crispsginchoc · 30/09/2020 17:01

Friedbanana
I received a note today too from Royal Mail saying they can’t deliver an item and there is a £1.50 fee. I immediately also thought of the uno flip cards.
Although I should also have a dr’s appointment on Friday too, so as another poster said (sorry can’t remember who) I’m hoping my GP’s haven’t changed my appointment.

My medical centre usually phone or text, so I’m guessing it’s the uno flip sellers being cheeky or a scam.

JustanotherTuesday · 30/09/2020 17:04

@BeGoneDom what about a light up Xbox logo sign ? My DS really likes his Playststion one. They have them on eBay for under £10.
My Wilkos branch were putting out their Christmas stock today.

peasando · 30/09/2020 17:12

M&S Christmas Food isn't offering early bird freebies this year - I always order at the beginning of October and usually get a bottle of wine or something. Also they don't seem to have gravy, sauces etc and veg selection more limited than in previous years. Probably COVID related and def 1st world problems but I'm a bit disappointed.

Jacopone · 30/09/2020 17:17

Ladies, you are hard work! Only September and I have just caught up with this thread - 8th one!!!
I only discovered it last year and want to say - what an amazing, happy, funny place it is. It was, and I hope will be, my reading companion, my secret membership club till Christmas.
Big thank you to Reastie and all of you fantastic ladies. I will know who to think of when I’ll be putting my little wooden christmas tree and train out (Amazon bargain from last year, if anyone remembers). Smile

TimInRuislip · 30/09/2020 17:24

Not if it is account specific but Amazon are offering a £5 credit if you set you default payment card as visa. It was just a banner I spotted whilst I was having a browse, the £5 credit was added instantly
