New thread again. Doesn't seem 5 minutes since the last one! 😂

No they were at school. It's only when I went to get them from the bus I realised I couldn't find my keys 🤔

I need to blitz the house today. There's a skip coming to the village this morning, it parks in the car park of the village hall and everyone comes up with all their rubbish in wheelbarrows Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 26/09/2020 09:58

Ha no crazy I will only be half way Shock

pussycatinboots · 26/09/2020 10:00

Wreck, please check everything before you chuck it in the skip.
The tinkling sound of keys disappearing under a village worth of rubbish won't be good.😮

WreckTangled · 26/09/2020 10:23

Grin it was stuff from the shed. All done now though. Dh is going to be so mad if I can't find the keys I just don't understand where they are I think I need hypnotising to retrace my steps

KVlovesWinter · 26/09/2020 10:27

Good morning

Have not been here for quite a few weeks now, work and home life have really taken over. Have also been redecorating the hallway and bathroom. Bedrooms to do next not sure if that'll be before Xmas.

Was wide awake at 7 so went out to do the food shop, it was so busy not seen it like that so early on a Saturday morning. Panic buying seems to have started barely any tinned soup or flour and no chopped tomatoes at all.

Sitting with a cup of tea, heating on watching the Grinch with Ds now

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2020 10:53

We've just sorted the freezers. I've delayed the allotment, as that was more important.

We appear to have about 100 ice lollies! 😂😂 At least they're all in one place now.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 26/09/2020 10:53

Have told the children whoever finds the keys first gets £5. They're now arguing over who's going to find them Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2020 10:55

Wreck, I don't think you did what you usually did, I think that's a false memory. It's in between unlocking the house and unloading the car that you've lost them.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 26/09/2020 11:11

This is what I did: got out of the car, grabbed two heavy bags and walked towards the front door, unlocked the front door and left the keys in the lock and the front door open whilst I walked through the house to the kitchen where I put the bags down and then returned to the car for the last two bags which were even heavier so walked straight through the house. I never remove the keys straight away because the lock is stiff and I have my hands full. I then return to the door to remove the keys and lock the car. I do this every single time so you're right in thinking it could be a false memory but I don't see how it can be because it's something I do on autopilot without even thinking about it. Like pulling your pants up after you have a wee Grin you just do it. I suppose my next option is going though the bin 🤢

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2020 11:58

I sometimes throw dirty clothes in the bin as I pass it on the way to the wash basket! 😂😂

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 26/09/2020 12:01

I've just had to bring my washing in still wet as some twat has got a bonfire. I'm so fed up of it it's constant. I'm so close to driving round to find it and telling them what I think of them

CrazyBaubles · 26/09/2020 13:47

most wow, only half? What's the full pic (sorry if you posted it before).

Love the idea of a village skip Wreck. Here some selfish arse filled a neighbours private skip overnight a few weeks ago! They were not amused.
Also, do you have a village Facebook page? If yes, could you post on there about the bonfire?

I've been out to town. I chose and ordered my new glasses (and sun glasses) from Vision Express and did the food shop with DH. Tesco has Christmas biscuits & chocs out.
Have come home, hoovered (DH just asked me why I was hoovering the porch 🙄) and now going to attempt some cross stitch.

WreckTangled · 26/09/2020 14:20

Crazy I asked to join the village fb page years ago and my request is still pending Grin it's not very active.

If anyone is going to an asda any time soon can they let me know? Need a dressing gown for ds and they have one he would love by out of stock online.

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/09/2020 15:10

Wreck I've got an order to pick up at Asda that should be ready on Monday. Let me know what you want and I'll take a look.

WreckTangled · 26/09/2020 15:11

Ooo thanks. It's a PlayStation dressing gown aged 8-9 Smile

NerosFiddle · 26/09/2020 15:20

Afternoon all.

I went to the range this morning. They have everything out now. I spent far too much on decorations, though they're a lot more tasteful than the ones I would have chosen if I was on my own.

I've developed a cough on the way back. I think it's just a cold though because I'm sneezing too.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2020 15:28

Woolly, did you find out about the bedding yet, and whether more stock is coming?

Neros, I shall avoid the Range at all costs as I'm poor after spending a fortune already.

I ordered some slippers this morning. Totes ones, so hopefully that'll be the end of my chill blains now. I've had 2 lots already this year thank to my rubbish circulation!

Wreck, how selfish of that person. That would really annoy me. I'd be going round and going full-fishwife at them! BlushGrin

I've got loads of Christmas snacks coming on Tuesday, with all of my wine! No biscuits though. I'll see if Marks have theirs on offer yet when I pop in tomorrow.

I'm sure your cough is nothing if you're sneezing too, Neros.

Crazy, even DH hoovers the porch here! I steam mop it too. 😁 Your DH is odd to think it's odd. 😂

@Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear

I'm a morning person boots so this is my view right now.
Oh, that's beautiful!
CrazyBaubles · 26/09/2020 16:00

Neros I'm 'lucky' that my nearest Range is about half an hour drive away (and is currently in a locked down county) so I can't go. I'm still trying very hard not to buy anything, although my friend sent me pics of some Christmas Disney towels she bought in Asda that were nice.

Fluffy I've always been confused by how dirty our porch gets and I've now realised it's because DH doesn't ever hoover it 🙄 God know what else he misses out!

DH has somehow broken our blender / food processor. He was blending soup when the glass cracked, starting under the handle and going horizontally all the way around. It was a cheap one we've had for years though so will have to look at getting another.

I've attached a pic of my cross stitch. This is a weeks worth but it doesn't look like I've done much.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2020 16:02

That's cute, Crazy! Swapping colours is very time-consuming.

My DH takes twice as long to do half the job here. Some things I prefer to do!

It's a man thing. That and the inability to see toast crumbs.🤷🏻‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2020 16:11

It like he's being thorough. But it's just sloooooooooow. Xmas Hmm

ConstantlyCooking · 26/09/2020 17:11

Hello all. Have been catching up with the thread but can't remember everyone's names to add to the comments.
Freezers we have 3 but one is in the emergency fridge freezer in the garage that only gets used at Christmas usually.
I love making Christmas cakes but we tend not to eat them (used to make one for DF each year and then give him the remains of ours at Easter). I made mini ones for MiL and an uncle last year as well but ours is still in the tin.
Orange and cranberry chocolate could be interesting. Other than orange and raisins- i don't mix fruit and chocolate but this might be acceptable- i need to test some.
Those of you missing JL Quality Street, try to find a Sainsbury's with pick and mix Lindt. Luckily for my waistline, the only one I know of is 1.5 hours away!
I am trying to persuade DH to try GBBO- but he won't do I only watch sporadically (when work is full on - we only have short evenings together so like to watch things together).
Need to hop to the bargain thread for ideas for stocking gifts but did order Christmas fizz on the Sainsbury's 25% off deal.
Get well soon to all those suffering.
And thank you for the Tesco flu jab tip. I was hoping someone would decide teachers need them ...

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2020 17:18

How old are you, Constantly? I don't know if you're over-50, but the jab is free this year if you are.
