Countdown to Christmas 2020 (Thread 11): The One with the Three Freezers

New thread again. Doesn't seem 5 minutes since the last one! 😂

I woke on Wednesday with the most evil sore throat (actually Tuesday night but I thought it would settle) , cough , temperature .

Booked a Covid 19 test and WFH 2 days .

DS had to miss work till I got my results .
Thankfully I'm not carrying Covid 19 , just under the grip of a hideous cold (not even flu) . But coughing, headache , throat sore , cannot taste and nose running .
My gloves off/wash/gloves on at work is relentless , with a heavy cold it would be unworkable .
Thankfully DD was able to go to University and DS to work and I don't have to think of everyone I came in contact with for 15+minutes .
I am PPE'd up to my gills , I'd be mightily fecked off if that let me down.

On the subject of turkeys , there was a news article on ? BBC news that a farmer had all his fowl at the right weight now but couldn't freeze them and if they got bigger no-one wants mega-turkeys this year .
It's depressing to think about the huge impact of all this -the impact on all the subsiderary industries .

I really need to crack on with Christmas shopping, will try and dedicate some time to it this weekend.

Biddy sorry to hear about your lack of sleep, when it happens in our house I nudge with my elbows and bellow, 'sleep on your side please', DH duly obeys thankfully.

Usually motors seem to die quicker in washer/dryer Mrs as obviously they are working double the amount (especially in Winter).

I've lost my car/house keys. DH is stressing but I'm pretty chilled. They must be somewhere as I used them to drive home after shopping and get in the house!

Thanks Woolly bit better ( so relieved its not Covid ) but I have now pretty much lost my voice .

Morning all. Hope the keys have turned up wreck. DH is always accusing me of losing keys but I have never actually lost them, I just don't always know exactly where in the house they are but they are always in the house.

I want to get the section of my cross stitch i am on now done this weekend.

Wreck, have you checked in the shopping bags? I sling mine in there sometimes and then panic when I can't lock the door or the car. Or the fridge. I've done that once too.

I'm a morning person boots so this is my view right now.

Allotmenting for ne today. My late sowing of peas are just coming ready. It's mostly time for clearing though. Hopefully I'll get enough raspberries to do raspberry vodka. I did cranberry last year. I'll make jam with the boozy raspberries once it's done!

DH is still asleep. It's sooooo quiet. Just me, the cats and the central heating 😉😻 I love this time of year.

Fluffy I forgot to ask, are you locked down now? I couldn't work out who is and who isn't from the map on the news as that implied we are and I doubt it at the mo and from checking the Council website

Still no keys. Not in the back door as I don't have a back door key on them. This is what happened:

Parked outside and left the keys in the open front door as I brought the shopping in. Put the last bag in the kitchen then went back, took the key out and locked the car whilst standing in the doorway. From there I don't know what I did with them. I'm checked all pockets, my bag, the empty shopping bag, down all the sofa cushions, under the sofa, the kitchen sides, the bathroom... I have no idea!

We've been locked down for almost 2 weeks now, Boots, as we're Merseyside. Not that it makes much difference to my day-to-day life! I think I'm meant to ignore my fellow allotmenteers, however, which seems a bit rude!

Well I think it was locked I never checked. We have a spare car key so I just used that and clicked unlock as I was walking out the door last night. I'm as sure as I can be that I locked it though I do the same thing every single week when I get back from shopping.

Oops I agree it's rude to ignore people. Where is the harm in standing 2m apart and exchanging pleasantries when you're outside. It's hardly "mixing".
Wreck, inside the fridge or cupboards? Was there anything you bought that you wouldn't normally - could it be with that? Check the recycling too.

I got dd some underwear which I put in my cupboard for her stocking and they're not there. I put everything on the side before I put it away so I can't see them being in the cupboards. Dh said about the bin but the only things I put in the bin were straight out of the fridge. It's a mystery.

Wreck I hope you find your keys. I'm assuming the dc haven't had / moved them?

I used to misplace mine often so DH bought a key hook and fitted it near the front door. Now I just lose bank card, medication and wires/chargers (within the house) a lot 🙄

most if you finish that section will it be complete then?

I started my Christmas cross stitch last weekend so I'm going to work on that this weekend as I'm still sneezing and coughing so won't be going anywhere. I'll post a pic later.
