Baileys and watch Die Hard Xmas Grin
Happy Anniversary Fluffy

8 years is Bronze ( apparently ) so if you drank your Baileys in the dark you could kid yourself its Bronze-ey .
Or buy the g=flavoured ones - is there a coffee or chocolate one ?

NoWordForFluffy · 13/10/2020 18:58

I'm waiting for a blag Bailey's. DH is being piss poor in this regard, quite frankly. We discussed it, then he forgot and brought tea. Then he said we could have it after, but no sign yet. I may instigate divorce proceedings at this rate!

We watched Die Hard the other week. We may have to settle for GBBO!

Hard choice re train tickets, Wreck. But if everyone is locked down, they'll have to refund, surely?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 13/10/2020 19:39

Fluffy they will refund but subject to an admin fee which I think could be £10

WreckTangled · 13/10/2020 20:12

Actually have just looked and it doesn't say anything about an admin fee so that's good

NoWordForFluffy · 14/10/2020 07:58

Morning!

It's very quiet round here this week! Where did everyone go?!

Wreck, that's reassuring about the train refunds, if necessary.

I've been for a run and now need to get dressed before sorting the kids to get out the door for school!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 14/10/2020 08:05

It's very quiet isn't it... I'm going to put a chicken casserole in the slow cooker and have a load of washing on. My house seems a tip!

I've got my massage and facial tonight, can't wait!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 14/10/2020 08:41

Hi I am about. I have just been working. I am on shift 5 of 5 in a row and I have just about had it. I am laying in bed and I have ordered another Christmas present for my daughter and Fluffy's birthday present. I am impressing myself with my organisational skills this year

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/10/2020 08:41

Morning. Happy anniversary for yesterday Fluffy.

Wreck the £10 admin charge for changing train tickets rings a bell. Maybe they've waived it because of all the uncertainty about planning ahead. Would buying the tickets now and paying an admin fee to change them still be cheaper than biding your time until after any announcement?

My GH arrived yesterday so I had a cosy afternoon reading that.

Looking like the 'circuit breaker' is on the cards. DS gets a two week half term anyway but breaks up on Friday. I imagine any decision about closing down schools won't apply until the end of next week it takes a while for this government to act quickly and decisively so he might be off for three weeks (or more likely on remote learning for the third week). I see NI have already made that decision so it will affect Neros

DD2 was in M&S on Monday and picked up 3 bottles of the Bucks Fizz AT FULL PRICE 😱 but I wondered if they would reduce it at all apart from right before Christmas as its now being sold through Ocado too.

CrazyBaubles · 14/10/2020 08:56

I was MIA as was very stressed yesterday. IFA came back with a request for more info etc so we still don't have an answer about the mortgage! Lenders have done an initial check plus a full underwrite and still want more info. Apparently they're being ultra cautious about lending as everyone is expecting a financial / housing crash soon but it's been weeks and weeks. It put me in too bad a mood to post - was so bad I didn't even watch Bake Off! Instead I ate cake, furiously scrubbed my perfectly clean kitchen and bathroom then spent the evening doing online jigsaws.

After a sleep I feel a bit better, although some bright spark scheduled a meeting for 8am today which was a disaster. 7 of us in the meeting - 4 had kids that needed to get ready and get to school so we did what we could for 25 mins then agreed it didn't work and we'd rearrange for later 🙄

Fluffy Belated Happy Anniversary! Please tell me you got your Baileys in the end?

Your mouse cross stitch is flying! I haven't worked on mine for a few days as I managed to get a paper cut on my finger 🙄

Ooh thanks for the pic puss 🥰

Is that normal Bucks Fizz or the Clementine & Cranberry one Woolly?
I'm still kicking myself - I left my 2 bottles of it at my mums last year then couldn't get more because they sold out!

pussycatinboots · 14/10/2020 08:59

Morning all.
It's a bit chilly this morning 🥶
Wreck are you being brave and booking the tickets?
why😇well done on being so organised.
Got to go - feeding time! Charlie keeps sitting on my laptop and I can't see the screen for fur.😹🤦🏻‍♀️

WreckTangled · 14/10/2020 09:06

Woolly I've already bought them. I've just checked again and it says they're non refundable 🤦🏽‍♀️ it's worded so badly. I can amend them to a different day though. Oh well they were £30 (all together) and we're going a week Friday so hopefully there won't be any kind of lockdown before then (half term doesn't start until the Monday here...). I'm not convinced about a circuit breaker, people won't comply, kids will still go to school and people will still go to work. What they need to do is ban and police households mixing and set up a test and trace that does what it's supposed to.

Crazy what a nightmare I hope things speed up for you

WreckTangled · 14/10/2020 09:07

I had to book the tickets because there was only five left and I needed four of them!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/10/2020 09:08

Sounds stressful, Crazy. Sorry you're being put through the wringer.

8am meetings are stupid. No meetings should be outside of normal working hours.

I remembered to watch GBBO and the right person went (what WERE they thinking for the show stopper?!).

Yes, I got my Bailey's. Finally. 😂

Well done on being organised, Why!

Woolly, I think there'll be a circuit breaker too only 6 weeks too late. I could have a full-lockdown birthday. Exciting. 🙄

Full price Buck's Fizz?! 😱😱😱 Not in my name! 😂😂

Your cats definitely have control, Boots!

NerosFiddle · 14/10/2020 09:57

Morning.

Yes woolly we're on a circuit breaker from Monday. Schools are to be off 2 weeks of 1 week already mid term. I don't know what they're thinking is going to happen in 2 weeks.

Happy belated anniversary Fluffy

Crazy can you look at another mortgage provider?

Wreck if you can change it without a fee you'll be ok.

I've bought some Christmas craft stuff on prime day.

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/10/2020 10:17

Crazy that's really stressful. No wonder you were in a bad mood. I go the same way so you have my sympathy.

It's the Cranberry and Clementine one. The DDs are planning a festive brunch for the first Sunday in December.

Wreck I'm assuming that any new restrictions will be brought in from a week on Monday so you'll be ok for the Friday. This government seem to have a turning circle slower than that of the Queen Mary so I would be speechless if anything happens before then.

Why have you ever visited the sweet shop in town? I was in there yesterday to get some particular sweets that DH likes. Lovely friendly place with rows and rows of jars of sweets. I could have spent a fortune. While I was in town I bought some chocolate coins for the advent calendar but remembered this morning that the new Aldi opens tomorrow and they do lovely wrapped chocolates so I might put the coins in the stockings. I'm also under instructions to buy the giant ferrero ice cream bombe.

What craft stuff did you get Neros? My to-do list is looking a bit more manageable. I'm three quarters of the way through my first sock of a pair for a friend's DH. Then I've got two more (smaller) pairs to make. I need to make a Secret Santa present too and then my cross stitch. Totally manageable 😬

Boots do you have any cross stitch alphabet patterns? Double whammy if they are Christmas themed 🤞

WreckTangled · 14/10/2020 10:42

That's what I thought too woolly hopefully I'm right! I don't mind a lockdown over half term, although I was planning a trip to hobbycraft Grin also I want to take the dc to this ice cream place in Camden.

I need to get some of the M&S Buck's Fizz but, like fluffy, I want to wait until it's cheaper.

NerosFiddle · 14/10/2020 11:14

Woolly I've bought 2 of these advent calendars so a different craft every day for them. Tbh most of it is painting/ colouring in.

Woolly Heading upstairs to my stitching cupboard...back in a bit Wink

pussycatinboots · 14/10/2020 13:09

Woolly I've messaged you Wink

CrazyBaubles · 14/10/2020 13:46

Thanks Wreck. Will keep my fingers crossed for your trip into London 🤞🏼

Neros I don't think looking elsewhere is going to be any faster. We don't have great credit scores etc so they're being extra cautious and everything has slowed right down here. Friends of ours have just completed and were told 'things that used to be done in a day now take a week.' It is what it is, I'm just not a patient enough person for this stuff!

Festive brunch sounds amazing Woolly. I may steal that idea and do one with dm (if we're allowed to go out for food by then)!

A little Christmas present I ordered for my cousins dc arrived today. I'd completely forgotten but I'm pleased with it - from Etsy, it's a mini colouring book and crayons shaped like dinosaurs. He's going to love them.

I've been out for a really nice walk. Sky was blue but it was cold and wherever the wind blew the leaves came down. It's made me feel a lot calmer - now I'm going to work for the afternoon but have Bake off on in the background.

FireflyGirl · 14/10/2020 13:58

Full price, Woolly Shock Shock Are you sure you're related Wink

I really fancy a festive brunch - I don't drink alcohol very often, but I've survived an entire pandemic without a drink and I'd love a Bucks Fizz!

Happy belated anniversary, Fluffy.

DS's results came back negative (again), but he was a bit teary yesterday and still coughing, so I kept him off school. He was fine by 10.30 and spent the rest of the day driving me mad Grin

He was quite grumpy this morning, which isn't like him at all, but his cough has improved so I sent him to school anyway. I feel a bit daft getting him tested again, but it wasn't just a little cough, it was bloody annoying persistent, even when he was asleep. I figure I wouldn't be happy if one of his classmates was coughing like that, and if he was doing it at school they'd send him home anyway!

FireflyGirl · 14/10/2020 14:00

That sounds a perfect autumnal walk, Crazy!

Sorry your house buying is all slowing down.

WreckTangled · 14/10/2020 16:05

Fluffy yes re the show stopper, what on earth?!

pussycatinboots · 14/10/2020 16:27

Fluffy and Wreck but but but the brownies 🤢 I was surprised any of them got through to next week!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/10/2020 17:44

That would've made for a short series! I'm not sure how they got them so wrong! 🤷‍♀️
