New thread again. Doesn't seem 5 minutes since the last one! 😂

fluffy are you likely to be under this new tier 3?

I realised yesterday that MIL is unlikely to see DS at all in the time he is 4 which is so rubbish. No sooner did they come out of shielding then Manchester got additional restrictions and then Newport went into lockdown.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2020 07:29

Yes we are, Most, which is why we dashed to see my parents this weekend as we weren't sure if we'd be banned from travelling.

Gorgeous sunrise, Wreck.

It's rubbish not being able to see family.

Morning

What colour Kitchen Aid did you go for 70?

Thank you for the recipe most. I've never seen one that includes ginger (which I love) so I'll def give that a try.

We're in local lockdown here too and it's so hard. Technically we're not supposed to form a 'bubble' with anyone now but I've kept mine with dsis as she spends all day with her dc and she needs the help. We're both very careful though.

I've been logged in to work since 7:30 but haven't done more than read my emails yet. I've blocked out time to plan my week this morning in the hope it stops me madly dashing from one thing to another and feeling like my feet don't touch the ground!

WreckTangled · 12/10/2020 08:04

I'm trying to get onto my work system before we leave in 9 minutes but it's so f ing slow I don't think I'm going to manage it

FireflyGirl · 12/10/2020 10:03

DS has started with another cough 😷 Pretty sure it's a cold again, but it's flaming annoying persistent, and I wouldn't be happy if it was another kid in his class with it and they were sent in.

We are being over cautious, but there have been 20 cases diagnosed in the next village along, although none in ours was yet, so we're not taking any risks.

It was much easier to book him a test this time - they had slots all day at the local testing centre. Means my plans for sorting need to go on hold until he's back at school, though, which is a pain!

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2020 10:35

What a pain, Firefly. Best to be cautious though.

Christmas planning ground to a halt here, I work in a cafe which hasn't reopened yet, we were looking like going back at the end of this month when furlough ends but the announcement this evening about closures in the hospitality sector might be putting paid to that since I'm in one of the towns on the red list. We'll just have to see I guess but with the possibility of being put on the 2/3 of wage scheme I can't get anything done. Grey and drizzly here too so cheer is a bit thin on the ground today! Anyone got any nice christmassy updates or happy news to raise the spirits? 🙂

FireflyGirl · 12/10/2020 11:41

BBC Good Food Christmas taste awards results online.

Nice and Christmassy, Crow! I always ogle, and then completely ignore the results and buy from wherever is most convenient Grin

TheCrow · 12/10/2020 12:10

'This year, the team sampled 157 different products to find their favourites in each of the 20 categories.'

Where do I sign up for next year?

NerosFiddle · 12/10/2020 14:53

Afternoon.

I've finally sat myself down today.

Still no sign of GH. Fingers crossed it'll be here before Christmas 2021.

WreckTangled · 12/10/2020 14:56

I had a stressful morning. It took me over an hour to get onto the system by which time I had people waiting to see mean spoke to a jobsworth in IT. Home now though not sure what to do for dinner. Maybe sausages and mash with gravy, feels like that kind of weather.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2020 18:04

Sounds very blood-pressure-raiding, Wreck. I've had loads of IT issues in this new job!

Neros, that's rubbish re GH.

I fancy signing up for taste-testing too! 🐷

Where is she at uni?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/10/2020 18:53

Its a KitchenAid Food Pro not the stand mixer , there's not the huge range of colours in the Food Pro .
I have a Kenwood Stand Mixer , small one (1000w) that is parked in the corner ,which is white/silver

New KA Food Pro came in a choyce of Red (which was a Fire Engine Red ) , Onyx , Silver or Almond .
Went for onyx Xmas Grin

Morning!

Today is my 8th wedding anniversary! And they're shutting the pubs tomorrow, so we won't be going out to celebrate. 😂

It's meant to chuck it down again today. For a change!

Fluffy Happy Anniversary - You'll have to crack open a bottle of Baileys and watch Die Hard instead of Champagne and Candlelit Dinner for 2. Xmas Grin

BiddyPop · 13/10/2020 11:30

Morning all,
Happy Anniversary Fluffy!!
There should be sun heading your way later, as there is some here now in between clouds. Life all a bit hectic here, mostly to do with work and changing status around covid precautions, and annual end of year stuff for Scouts coming slightly early to ensure it happens (the old Membership Secretary stepped back in as new one (of 3 years) has been failing from the start to do it right and totally fell apart this year so we had no fees letters going out to parents - we had to pay out €14k to HQ for membership/insurance, but only got €6k of an expected €18k subs (and only got that because the Leaders went straight to parents) and cannot fundraise this year either - so apart from essential materials for maintaining boats and paying bills, we have spent nothing this year). But that all means extra pressure on the Leaders. So I haven't even got to do any sewing the past couple of weeks - maybe tonight....I have a bunch of stuff cut and ready to do.

Ugh, meeting I needed to listen into just finishing so now I need to get on with something else that needs thinking time. And I didn't get enough fresh air yesterday (I had a plan to get out while attending a meeting in person in the afternoon, but that got cancelled and 3 urgent problems needed to be dealt with from early morning to late evening, so I didn't leave the house except to do a fast dash to the supermarket to get fruit for this mornings' breakfast at 9pm).

BiddyPop · 13/10/2020 11:31

Sorry, I just realised that was very moany. Ignore me.

pussycatinboots · 13/10/2020 11:42

Biddy You are allowed to moan. Wine for later.
I really do think that any form of sewing, knitting, crochet etc - where you have to concentrate or unpick if you don't is good for the soul.
It stops you thinking about the madness outside your door.

Crazy pic is especially for you Xmas Smile

WreckTangled · 13/10/2020 16:18

Feel free to moan biddy!

My drs have run out of flu vaccines hoping to get more in next week.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/10/2020 17:19

Biddy, I'd be moaning in your shoes too. Vent away!

That's annoying re the flu jab, Wreck. Hopefully you get one next week.

The nurse said she would call if they don't come in. I can pop in any time though and she will do it, going to have the pneumonia one too.

I don't know whether to book our train tickets to London or if they're going to suddenly impose a national lockdown over half term, I don't want to cheap train tickets to all disappear. I suppose I should know by Friday what till next happening next Friday shouldn't I?

I'm just sitting in the car in the rain whilst ds plays football. Better than being outside.
