New thread again. Doesn't seem 5 minutes since the last one! 😂

DS woke me up at 6.30 this morning to ask if I wanted to watch the sun rise.

Can't decide if I'm raising a romantic or a sadist... Confused

I didn't fancy breakfast before swimming, so have just had fruit and granola with yoghurt, which was really yummy 😋

I plan to get DH to make bacon sandwiches for lunch! None of us are really fussed for eggs - I only really use them in baking and Yorkshire Puddings!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 11/10/2020 11:31

Morning everyone was lovely to see Fluffy this morning if only briefly. I am working this afternoon at a Crisis Cafe and hoping for a more sedate time than the carnage at the end of shift yesterday. I have not had any breakfast but cooking pie and chips for dinner which is one of my favourites.

pussycatinboots · 11/10/2020 13:01

@WreckTangled

Fried Grin but he only likes them with the yolk hard otherwise I would have been ok!
Wreck Whaaaaat? no runny dippy yolk - that's the best bit! Shock Most erm, has he put the sprouts on too? I would have killed for a decent breakfast - I had a Brew, that's all. Firefly I love watching the sun rise (even in the summer when it's up before you go to bed sometimes) but I'm a bit odd anyway😎 has he started to look at planets yet? Why I hope you enjoyed your pie and I hope you and fluffy had a lovely big .💕
NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2020 13:06

I waved to Woolly on the way past where she lives, as we came in from that direction today, on the way to see Why.

We've seen our parents and have filled with fuel, now we're on the way back. I left jam at both houses, plus beetroot with my dad (he looked genuinely delighted!).

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 11/10/2020 13:10

He generally doesn't like the yolk at all!

I've done lots this morning, made ds and me breakfast, emptied the dishwasher and reloaded it, cleaned the kitchen, hoovered the whole house, put a load of washing on hung it up/got the dry stuff off the airer and folded, picked dd up from her friends and been to town to pick up some bits from the shop with the voucher I won. I need to put the washing away now and then I plan on doing nothing until I have to start dinner. Pork loins with leeks in a creamy mustard sauce. Roast potatoes for the rest of them too.

pussycatinboots · 11/10/2020 13:28

Wreck but, but, but the yolk is the best bit!!! I chuck the whites when I fry an egg Grin
Fluffy Not sure your mum will relish the beetroot stains on your dad Grin next time, you need to leave her a tub of Vanish too Wink

WreckTangled · 11/10/2020 13:41

It's all disgusting unless it's in a cake. Or custard.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/10/2020 13:47

I'm not keen on eggs , I'm not a fan of chickens TBH , don't like the stern look in their little eyes when they head tilt .

I eat an omlette maybe twice a year , but only if I cook it , Eggs shouldn't have even a hint of movement in them IMO Xmas Grin

I have some eggs to use up and some milk , so I'm going to rustle up some Yorkshires , DS will think I'm the Best Mum Ever (if they work )

pussycatinboots · 11/10/2020 13:55

Egg Heathens. Grin

70 chuck a pig in it's blanket in the yorkshire, remember to report back.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2020 13:56

Oh, forgot to say that I watched Strictly last night which was about the best finals. I was in tears at the end as it had a section dedicated to Caroline Flack. So sad. 😢😢

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 11/10/2020 13:59

I was in tears last night too fluffy over that!

I don't mind egg whites but am not a fan of the yolks.

Did good work on the allotment, this area all dug over. Need to get the proper pegs to secure the membrane but very happy. Found a slow worm too :)

pussycatinboots · 11/10/2020 14:10

There is a lack of (dippy) egg yolk love going on here...

most I found a baby snail on my conservatory door this morning - he was tiny with a see-thu shell.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2020 14:10

We're like Neros with our egg use. We get through loads!

The kids are only interested in 'converted' eggs, like Wreck!

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2020 14:15

We had a load of baby snails the other day! Quite cute, for something that eats everything!

I love a dippy egg, Boots.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/10/2020 15:15

Pig-in-Blanket in the Yorkshire Pudding ? What sacrilidge is this Boots ?

My DS is the only one that would eat sausage (but not bacon, he's weird) . And he will only eat sausages that are near charcoal .......

The YPs are done , some came out the tin easily , some with a hoik.
DS has sampled one .

I won't do a YP batch on Christmas Day , they never work when I'm trying . I have got a halogen oven which is brilliant , but I need to find a small enough tin.
Tried foil cases but they blew about when I was heating the oil Xmas Grin

Main oven is a bit dodgy , fan isn't even and no light . Planning to replace it but after Covid .

pussycatinboots · 11/10/2020 15:23

70 DH would prefer everything coated in charcoal. To him, "cooked" means "raw" - He'll eat it (it's that or nowt) but he does grumble sometimes.🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

CrazyBaubles · 11/10/2020 16:04

Afternoon. I am most definitely on the zombie bench today. Neighbours had a noise party last night so I didn't get to sleep until the early hours, then woke up at 6:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. 4 hours of rubbish broken sleep has made me miserable (though crumpets in bed, some cross stitch then being sent for a bath with the Christmas magazine while he cooks a roast has helped Xmas Grin). I'm too frazzled to be overly productive today though.

I was thinking about red cabbage last night funnily enough most. How do you cook yours? I usually simmer is on low with a small amount of water, butter, red wine and apples but considering adding cranberries and doing it in the oven.

Hope work is going ok why

We love eggs in this house Wreck. I'm with puss though - they generally have to be runny.
When I was young, dsis used to eat just the whites and I only ate the yolks.
Am also a lover of chickens Woolly - since a few years ago when we ran MILs small holding so she could go on holiday. The ducks, chickens and new litter of puppies were my job and the chickens got right under my skin, they're generally lovely and no trouble (unlike ducks which are a pain in the arse).

What is it with men and meat cooked on charcoal? DH is a bit obsessed with it, and it's all FIL cooks between May & Sept 🙄

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2020 16:21

We're home! We got through the door at about 3.40 and have since got pizza dough ingredients into the bread maker, got the dishwasher on, washed up non-dishwasher items, put our bedding in the wash, made apple and blackberry crumble and checked the light extension lead I got for the bargain outdoor lights from Amazon (£7.99 for a long string of massive lights) to make sure it worked (it did!).

DH and I are going shopping later this week ( ahhhhh) , I was planning to guide him into John Lewis ( promise of a cup of coffee and a bun in their cafe ) then wander round the kitchen wares and say "Oohh look at this lovely KitchenAid Food , we really need that in our lives "

But none in store within a huge radius .

I was going to order online .....but DH had a discount card and ordered direct from KitchenAid (and I had a choice of 4 colours)

Result !

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/10/2020 20:42

KitchenAid Food Processor that should be ( DS wandered in whittering and distracted me )

WreckTangled · 11/10/2020 21:02

I've just got into bed not realising it's only 9 o'clock Grin ah well might as well stay here now. I love my bed.

That worked out well 70!

I'm working from my old office tomorrow, I can't wait, I miss it and everyone there. Although there's only four people and one won't be in. Hopefully grab a nurse to do my flu jab.

MarshmallowManiac · 11/10/2020 22:03

Hello everyone.
Hope your weekend has been restful, have just returned from London and seeing MIL. DD1 has just got into her new house, it's a rental but she is so excited. She has spent this weekend buying stuff for it. She is still with us at the moment, until half term when they will be moving everything in. Have had a zoom call for DD2 as it was her birthday weekend. Thankfully we are travelling up to her next weekend for a visit. Really excited! Have not read all the thread as just got in.

Hope you enjoyed softplay Most

Definitely a romantic Firefly

Not much of a restful w/end Wreck but it is good to get things done.

Hope you enjoyed your trip Fluffy

Would love to get a Kitchenaid 70

Morning.

I need to go for a run this morning. I'm sure I'll be motivated once I start.

We're forecast more heavy rain from 8am. I'm not sure we need it!

Morning. We've got a gorgeous sunrise the photo doesn't do it justice.

I've got two fairly busy days ahead but that's fine.
