Morning.
most that pic is looking amazing. 😻
I got up at 6 to the dawn chorus of cats crying for breakfast They're back in bed now... with a side-eye to DH telling him NOT to be a clattering buttock hoover up yet.🙀
70 I had a look at the QVC trees. They're expensive as I'd only ever have them on the purple setting. 😁
fluffy your poor courier - he'd have woken me up!

WreckTangled · 03/10/2020 08:36

We'd have thought the house was ok fire if someone knocked on the door at 11pm Grin I feel sorry for couriers though, especially at Christmas time, it'll be even worse this year.

My kitchen is such a mess, I'm getting there though, the table is just covered in all my maths work though, I was dreaming about multiplying fractions too.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2020 08:52

DH heard him unloading, so got to him before he knocked! We were only up as we'd had one more drink. 😂

My dining table is covered in laptop bits and the decorations I got from John Lewis yesterday for the kids! They haven't got the large hanging decorations down the escalator well yet. It all felt rather muted.

Morning folks, I had my flu jab yesterday and I feel like I have been steam rolled I ache so much (maybe I have who knows). Cleaning the house this morning whilst everyone is out, then sitting watching TV this afternoon.

CrazyBaubles · 03/10/2020 10:14

Morning.

I can't get a flu jab booked for love nor money here why

What decs did you get Fluffy?

Any idea what's causing the headaches Wreck?

I'm having a lazy morning. My ankle randomly swelled up yesterday and is tender today, which it hasn't done in ages and lockdown means we can't really do much today so I'm feeling restless and bored already...

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2020 10:19

After the Boots debacle last week (apparently other people's appointments have also vanished after booking online), I signed up to Lloyd's to be notified when they had availability. Then a few days later I got a booking email from them for priority booking due to having registered. So I'll have mine next Saturday now.

I got this one for DD: www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-renaissance-octopus-tree-decoration-blue-pink/p4981271 and the attached photo for DS! The helmet is a snow globe with golden glitter in it!

I had mine through work Crazy.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/10/2020 10:58

Our male cat has taken to prancing about on our bed ( on DH side) at 3am . I don't mind because
a- he prances over DH
b- he doesn't wake me up
c-it's DH getting pranced on , not me
d- male cat was so pitifully shy when we got him it's great to see him display some CF ( Cheeky Feline) behaviour
e- it is DH who does their breakfast so they know to wake him

Our garden is now part lake again

We got DD a new phone (iPhone 11 )so her old one (iPhone 8+) goes to DS and DS old phone ( iPhone 7 which was DD before that) goes to me . I can now have the Covid10 app .

I am idly browsing presents , I have no clue what they want ( apart from DS guitar) so no point trying to guess or waste money .

I'm going to sort my wardbrobe , still got some dresses in there but they can go into hibernation now ,

FireflyGirl · 03/10/2020 12:19

Crazy I managed to book ours through Tesco. I have been quite light headed since, but that could just be because I'm so tired 😴

One of the members of my am-dram group turns 90 today. There are 6 of us who live within a 5-minute walk of her house, so we went round this morning to sing Happy Birthday. It's such a shame, because in normal times we'd be having a party for her. Anyway, she was really chuffed we turned up in the rain, and then there was a procession of other people turning up to drop off cards and flowers. She has a lovely weekend planned with her family, they're taking her all over and for meals/afternoon tea, in groups of 6. She won't need to eat next week Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2020 15:00

How's your ankle after some rest, Crazy?

I've cleaned the bathroom, been to Sainsbury’s and M&S (I walked 2/3 of the way there - about 25 minutes - then realised I had no mask, so walked home and drove back) and I've now made Yorkshires and chilli-flavoured sausage rolls with homegrown chillies (inc bird's eye ones!). I'll go and sort my desk while they're cooking.

Afternoon.

We went to the beach this morning at 7am so that we'd be the only ones on it. It was absolutely freezing but it felt so hood to get some fresh air after being in all week.

Sainsbury's have their Christmas food out to pre book for collection on 22,23 and 24th. I normally get mine from the butchers but I'm in two minds about it this year as I can't book that until mid November at the earliest. Also if I book with Sainsbury's I'll get a free bottle of Prosecco and truffles.

CrazyBaubles · 03/10/2020 15:48

Nice decs Fluffy - I love the one for your DS Xmas Smile
Ankle is sore although the swelling has gone down.

That sounds sweet for your am-dram friend Firefly

I've sorted my Christmas budget so will be making a proper start in the next few days 70

I'm trying to avoid big companies where I can so looking at small businesses to buy from instead - ideally local but will be looking everywhere if anyone has any recommendations?

Neros you reminded me, I can tick a turkey off my list! DHs colleague lives on a farm that her ILs & DH run and they have turkeys so DH has pre-ordered one from her. Only issue is because they're still walking around we have no idea what it'll weigh and therefore cost, but they're local and free range so will happily pay a little extra if needs be and DH eats an extraordinary amount of turkey between Christmas and New Year

We tried to walk the dog earlier but I had to turn back because of my ankle so I've been mostly propped on the sofa attempting to make Pom poms for the cushion in making and cross stitching although I have managed to change the bedding, do a load of washing (DH has to carry the basket down for me) and clean the bathroom so I don't feel too lazy.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 03/10/2020 15:53

Love the robot dec fluffy!

Have made some cookies :) Having a lazy afternoon, might browse the JL decs.

WreckTangled · 03/10/2020 17:28

Crazy I'm not sure really. I'm ok at the moment though.

The rain was so bad yesterday they've have to put traffic lights up on a few sections of road as loads of silt has come over the road and so one one car can go through at a time very slowly. More heavy rain forecast tonight.

We've been to see my parents this afternoon with their lovely dog.

I bought some PJs for DD (she appreciates the fineries of nightwear)

And some almonds , sultanas and cherries . Though I said I wasn't going to make a Christmas Cake this year .............. I might make a batch of marzipan ( so much nicer than bought) and bake a Stollen.
I've never found a shop bought one that compares .

Mrs I was pootling about with an iPhone 6 , I am unreasonable excited to have a 7 Xmas Grin
I told my daughter that most DC get the parents cast off phones ....

Mrsmadevans · 03/10/2020 22:28

Haha yes they do get the cast offs ours are spoiled rotten 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2020 22:57

I am still doing the cheese. I've graduated into a brown-ish colour now. Yay!

I'm going to complete the cheese and then go onto the mice!

I've attached a photo of the sausage rolls I made earlier. We can't stop eating them! 🐷😂

Morning!

Not sure why I'm awake. I seem to have lost the ability to sleep for a long stretch of time. Which is a bit rubbish!

Allotment day today. The forecast is now dry after 7am, so that's good! I imagine it'll be rather damp underfoot, so I'll be 6" taller on my way back! 😂

My new bedding was washed, so needs to go out to dry. I'm afraid I'm returning the cushion as I'm just not sure where it would go. And £12.50 is a fair amount for a homeless cushion. 😂

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 04/10/2020 07:41

Morning all. Sorry to hear you are struggling to sleep fluffy. I won't lie I fell asleep putting DS to bed and work at 7 this morning so have had over 10 hours.

The cookies had a mix of minstrels, M&Ms and chocolate buttons in mrs :)

I really really need to crack on with Christmas planning today, I have no excuse really as the weather is so bad.

WreckTangled · 04/10/2020 07:45

It's miserable here today too. Just waiting to hear if ds' football is still on. I'm going to spend today revising for my exam tomorrow and will light my pumpkin spice candle. I really need some winter ones, will try and get some next week.

I'm doing a roast later, wish me luck with the Yorkshire puddings! I don't make them often mainly because I can't eat them and don't want food envy Grin I have got pigs in blankets though.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 04/10/2020 07:50

Good luck wreck!

NoWordForFluffy · 04/10/2020 08:02

We always have at least 1 mutant Yorkshire, Wreck! These are mine from yesterday.

The kids watched The Grinch yesterday and we watched Die Hard. I think the weather tipped us into Christmas viewing! 😂🎅🏻🎄
