Thanks @moonbabyandthebeast for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Mr Potato head is £6.99 at the moment on Amazon. Good stocking filler for younger kids?

Notlongnow1 · 19/09/2020 07:16
@Makedo I hope you don’t cause them to run out of ethical love tape 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Will pop one in hubby's stocking too 😉

Yodasdog · 19/09/2020 07:22

Only 97 days until Christmas 🎄
Can anyone recommend a decent smoothie maker? My partner would like one for Christmas, it’ll probably end up at the back of a cupboard after a month so I don’t want to spend a fortune on one 😆

STARE2016 · 19/09/2020 07:25

@Yodasdog I have the lidl version of the nutribullet and it's fab. Might be worth seeing if they have a kitcken event coming up soon. Was £25 I think

UselessInDisguise · 19/09/2020 07:31

Hello, I remember seeing a milk frother on here a while back, I assume this deal is fine. Can anyone point me in the direction of a cheapish good one 😂

Elskerdeg · 19/09/2020 07:41

@Yodasdog
Breville Blend Active is pretty good. Comes with two smoothie bottles, gets good reviews. We used ours for quite a while (until I got pregnant and went on an over the top cleaning spreeGrin).
It's always about 20. Tried to send a link to Amazon for you but it just keeps opening the Amazon appAngry.
Think we might have got it from Asda in the weekly online order...

Givealittlebit · 19/09/2020 07:44

Another fan of the gro clock here 🙋🏻‍♀️ we got ours second hand from fb and it's on top of a cupboard (I was pre warned about them figuring out the settings!)

I hate to bring them up again but how have the puppets finished and I still never managed to get them 😭 so much for the stock alert I supposedly set up!!

CharlieWeasley · 19/09/2020 08:10

We've put the gro clock on top of a bookcase so she can't get to it. For the first couple of months she would still get up early, but it was easy to persuade her to get back in bed as the clock was still blue, and she knew that meant bedtime. In the last few weeks she has started staying in bed until its yellow, then is really excited to come running into our room to tell us!

HanPanPeg · 19/09/2020 08:16

A PP just mentioned rainbows, which reminds me - does anyone know where / if it is possible to get discounted Grimms toys? We will have a DC2 at Christmas but only a few weeks old. They obviously won’t need / want many toys (and because number 2 we have a lot of stuff already) but Father Christmas will still need to bring them something so DC1 isn’t suspicious! Unless anyone has any other nice ideas!

I really need to get of this thread though as buying way too much and it’s only September Grin

TakeMeToYourLiar · 19/09/2020 08:27

Babipur will have a 10% off code running for the grimms. Try buddy

sorryiasked · 19/09/2020 08:35

@IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts sorry if someone has already suggested it but Illuminatlas is a lovely book. Put a CCC alert on as it usually drops to nearer £12.

Chocolateteabag · 19/09/2020 08:39

@UselessInDisguise - our Aldi milk frother has been in daily use since lockdown started - think it was £20 or less.
Or if you don't want to risk waiting Swan have this one for £35 but go via Topcashback (10%)and then use QUEENOFCLEAN for 20% off and free post

BestofLuck · 19/09/2020 08:52

Noticed this plasticine advent calendar on Lakeland website. Sweet idea for any age kids I thought.

HaggisTheGreat · 19/09/2020 08:58

This Harry Potter lego book looks quite good for £10 www.amazon.co.uk/dp/024136373X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rJBzFbZY241MN?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

For those looking for magazines, we’ve had success with The Week Junior - it’s a lively, fun news magazine with lots of quirky stories, and they are currently doing six issues free theweekjunior.co.uk/
You can also get a quarterly kids’ magazine about animals from RSPCA for a donation.

BighouseLittlemouse · 19/09/2020 09:02

@tabbycat985 - re gro clock I think it depends on the child.

My eldest it didn’t work for - he was a worse sleeper than his brother and a very early riser. He was a child who really was never able to go back to sleep if he woke early morning so it was just too long for him to wait in bed until the sun came up. Instead he would shout through ‘ is it nearly time for the sun?’Grin. At 8 he still wakes at 6.

My youngest was a much better sleeper and is a child that is able to go back to sleep if he wakes early at least sometimes. It worked really well for him.

Brogues · 19/09/2020 09:13

Just a word of warning on those Amazon rainbows @IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts you can’t use them in the same way as the Grimms version as they are curved on top.

I went into Smiggle yesterday and as there has been a discussion about different skin tones being represented I’d like to mention the blue (deer) version of this pencil case has Asian skin tone but it’s not online www.smiggle.co.uk/shop/en/smiggleuk/sleepy-sprouts-scented-pencil-case-bunny. It was £5.25 in store including a 20% discount (I’m positive the sign said 25%off but DH paid while I packed and didn’t notice it). I was buying for a little girl with an Asian skin tone and it was lovely to be able to get her something that matched.

Brogues · 19/09/2020 09:16

@BestofLuck my DS is a massive plasticine fan and I’d like to recommend these literal bricks of a different brand. They are huge! www.amazon.co.uk/Newplast-500g-White-Hardening-Modelling/dp/B085YD1XKX/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&psc=1&keywords=newplast%2Bmodelling%2Bclay&sprefix=newplast&th=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1600503360&sr=8-3

moonbabyandthebeast · 19/09/2020 09:28

Sorry if it's already been posted as I'm about 15 pages behind, but crocs have a 50% off sale and what appears to be free delivery with most orders.

ClaraLane · 19/09/2020 09:30

Do you definitely want a Grimm’s one? If so check out Yesbebe/Babipur/One Hundred Toys but you’re probably going to pay about £60 and may not be able to get one for Christmas as they go fast. You could have a look at the Little Dutch or Ocamora ones too if you’re not set on Grimm’s - they look very pretty too. Oh and avoid BabaMe like the plague, they have a reputation for terrible customer service.
Brogues · 19/09/2020 09:30

Also managed to pick up DS a lockable diary with a basketball on which looks a bit like a pokeball, but again it isn’t online, for £6.75.

lexloofah · 19/09/2020 09:31

In my search for new hot water bottles I came across this neck warmer at John Lewis which I received last Christmas and have been grateful for. Reduced to £10 here.

JPduck · 19/09/2020 09:37

Massive gro clock fans here. It's worth persevering😀

1stTimeMama · 19/09/2020 09:41

@HanPanPeg The website, Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks have 15% off Grimms bundles if you buy 3 items.

WickedEmoji · 19/09/2020 10:14

Superdrug have a 5£ fragrance frenzy today in store only. Hollister, boss, vera wang, etc Good for stocking fillers cheaply.
