Thanks @moonbabyandthebeast for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Has anyone seen the LOL dolls in real life in home & bargain, I've been in 4 stores and not seen any? I knew I should have ordered online but I'm watching the LOL amazing surprise for a bargain hopefully!

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 18/09/2020 13:41

Wow - those are some brilliant suggestions! He's already memorised every capital city of 99% of the world's countries (more than half of which I don't think I knew existed) and knows a lot of flags, but there are definitely some great finds below that he'll be really chuffed with.

I'd been looking at nerf, but didn't really want him shooting those little darts all over the house/ at his sister, but will look into laser versions - could be good!

Thank you again! Thanks

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/09/2020 13:47

@FoxBadger, seconding that it's super easy to cancel a subscription with The Phoenix. And to restart.

sorryiasked · 18/09/2020 13:52

@IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts
If he likes jigsaw then jigraphy have loads of different ones.
The who knows where boardgame has good reviews

And there is a new series of books mapping my world series that are only just being published which might be worth looking at?

Tiggles · 18/09/2020 13:53

My 11 and 13 yr old love exploding kittens. Really simple concept - you get dealt some cards with different kittens on. Each card has a different action eg you can steal an opponents card, you can look at the top cards in the remaining pack, you can force the next person to have 2 goes, you can shuffle the remaining pack etc. Each go you pick up a card from the pack but if you pick up an exploding kitten and haven't got a defuser kitten then you die.
But as you play more you can use logic to work out what us left in the pack, if you see the future cards you can try And bluff the others as to whether the next cards are good or bad etc.

pasinphoebe · 18/09/2020 13:54

@IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts boys always seem trickier than girls. Have you seen the ‘maps’ series of books ? (Should definitely come up on amazon, Aleksandra someone) they aren’t bargainous I’m afraid but are beautiful and if your son actually enjoys books I’d recommend their super illustrations. My 7 year old loves them.
I wonder if he’d like ticket to ride - many variations online. If he’s a sort of thinker also the game labyrinth my not-sporty boy loves. Very quick to learn, different every time.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/09/2020 13:58

@Tiredmummyof3, the offer I posted last night was 4 issues of The Phoenix for £1 which is one month of deliveries as it comes out weekly.

Also putting in another good word for Film Stories Junior who offer an annual subscription for four quarterly issues and digital or physical copies of the first 3 issues plus the current release so children (and completists!) can have every issue from the start.

The majority of contributors are child/young adult writers and there are lots of opportunities for reader participation if you have film fans to buy for.

Spam88 · 18/09/2020 14:01

Ah, gutted I missed Geometrics! For myself of course...we deserve a treat for all this bargain hunting.

CactusForever · 18/09/2020 14:03

@IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts how about Discovery Express, which is a mystery story with lift the flap facts? Loved by DS 6

Whydoyouthinkthatthen · 18/09/2020 14:03

[[https://www.stanfords.co.uk/childrens-travel-guides-books]] is great for people who love maps. Can't guarantee it will be cheap though!

Whydoyouthinkthatthen · 18/09/2020 14:04

Oh dear:
Stanfords

PurpleSock · 18/09/2020 14:05

Hera London have a 50% off everything sale, a bit niche as its mainly mens skinny jeans but a good deal if youre likely to buy anyway

FoxBadger · 18/09/2020 14:16

Was the WHSmith feee deliver just for one day? Does anyone know if they’ll repeat? Thanks

Dolphintrainer · 18/09/2020 14:24

@bunchofcoconuts thanks for the AA sticker atlas idea - I have just ordered it for my son and it’s a great price on Amazon - £3.49 I think it was as it’s not in stock until 27 Sep

Dolphintrainer · 18/09/2020 14:27

Sorry I meant to thank @lexloofah In my last post 🤦🏼‍♀️

Dolphintrainer · 18/09/2020 14:33

@IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts My DS7 likes treasure X if that’s of any help. And any kit that involves building, including cardboard ones that come in a book format where you press out the stiff card pieces - he’s had a massive rocket one, submarine and a skeleton

unkindnessofravens · 18/09/2020 14:37

Leapfrog ice cream cart back down to £25 on Amazon

zeerecords · 18/09/2020 14:53

@unkindnessofravens thank you so much! I missed it last time but just bought one for my niece for Christmas!

SayNoToCarrots · 18/09/2020 14:59

@Luxplus @Natmat1 @sorryiasked thank you for looking, I really appreciate it. I'm going to have a bit more of an explore on etsy, as there seems to be a bit more variety on there! Failing that i'll buy a black family and a white family and switch their heads 😂

mogtheexcellent · 18/09/2020 15:06

Theres a lighning deal on the Ballet class lottie doll starting tomorrow at 9.30 for prime members. This is the one DD is obsessing over. It won't be a huge discount, its usually 16% off.

Weirdly all my Lottie camelcamelcamel alerts havent worked on those that have been on offer so far.

On another note, sorry all those in Reading, I bought the last M&S gin in the Early foodstore. They are a thing of beauty and have really put me in the festive mood. Sadly it wasnt the one I wanted but I'll keep an eye out for the other flavour. Loads of musical biscuit tins though I may have bought all three colours Blush.

Restlessinthenorth · 18/09/2020 15:18

My slime kit came today. The contents look great but the box is an absolute mess. All ripped and barely holding together. No way I can give it as a gift! Shock

Friedbanana · 18/09/2020 15:36

@Restlessinthenorth I literally came on to say the same thing about the slime kit!! Box is damaged at the corner and some slime has leaked inside! Have you complained to amazon? I’ve just started a return and was going to reorder, but now if everyone’s is the same I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle? It was supposed to be my nephews present (I always really really overspend on him so was trying to just do one cheap main present and leave it at that!) but I again don’t feel like I can give it like this !

AndddddHerewegoagain · 18/09/2020 15:36

@IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts what about this?

Lockdownhairdontcare · 18/09/2020 15:43

Benefit Christmas sets are out. A good saving compared to individual items.

Feelingpoorlysick · 18/09/2020 15:44

I can't find who originally posted about it but TK maxx currently has some of the This works mini sets half price, including the sleep sprays.
