Here we go!

I've got a busy day tomorrow, so I'm starting this now, ready for when it's needed.

Morning!

The kids are still asleep and we've only just woken up too! I need to drag myself to the allotment today, as the beans etc won't harvest themselves!

Most, I've tweeted M&S so will let you know if they send me the link as I just can't see it online, other than in that photo!

My front garden needs attention. I'll jet wash it and weed it another weekend now. We have a window cleaner who is due imminently good job with all the mud splashes from cleaning the path!.

Thanks fluffy :)

So far this morning I have built a train track and ordered the online shop and am now making pancakes :)

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2020 08:05

I'm struggling today. I can barely move! I hit peak productivity yesterday. But I have to go to the allotment!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/09/2020 08:07

Go first thing fluffy and then spend the rest of the day relaxing :)

pussycatinboots · 06/09/2020 08:09

Most, Oh dear 🤦‍♀️ I prefer warm white too.
fluffy, I need the little cushion with the buildings on it. not want. need Xmas Smile
I'm off to empty the cats litter trays - i get all the 💩 jobs. DH has gone for a walk lucky him

pussycatinboots · 06/09/2020 08:11

fluffy, are you experiencing a little stiffness? My dad always recommended a quick rub down with an oily rag Hmm not a greatly reliable advice giver, my dad

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2020 08:18

I won't tell DH that, Boots, he'll take it as gospel! 😂😂

Most, I reckon I've got at least 3 hours of harvesting to do! So it'll take a while. I'll enjoy it once I'm there. I don't think I'll be going before 10 though, as I need to get uptight and have lots of tea first!

Oh, it's a gorgeous day. At least it's not raining, that wouldn't have helped! 😂

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2020 08:18

Boots, I'm not a cushion fan, but also want need that cushion!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 06/09/2020 08:33

fluffy, is "uptight" a typo for "upright"? or do you need to tense up to pick beans? Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2020 08:51

It's sodding autocorrect thinking it knows better than me. Definitely upright! I have achieved that now!

I'm just trying to motivate myself to get up for my swimming session at 9.

Fluffy it is unusual. He couldn't have it when he was younger, but grew out of it and at uni could eat anything (I never knew him then). When we first got together 11 years ago, he could eat everything except yoghurt, milk and ice cream, and gradually since he's become more sensitive.

I'll keep an eye out for vegan alternatives, but it's not very Metropolitan around here, so there's not always a great choice looking at you, M&S dine in for 2 Hmm. Particularly as I will want my Christmas roast!!

WreckTangled · 06/09/2020 09:06

Fire we got our Christmas dinner from Cook when I had ds. Although even Tesco etc do everything ready prepared for a roast. If it's just the four of you (only three eating obviously!) you could get a turkey crown and all the sides and even a fancy gravy ready made.

I don't feel well, I didn't feel well last night and went to bed at 8. It's possible the yoghurt I ate that I bought a good three weeks ago and finished last night. I'm pleased I got everything ready for school yesterday.

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2020 09:40

Poisoned by yogurt, Wreck? That's not good! Hopefully you'll bounce back quickly.

Firefly, I feel for your DH, having watched the kids suffer so badly. It doesn't help you though! I'd definitely look for delivered options in your shoes. Hopefully Booths will deliver this year.

CrazyBaubles · 06/09/2020 09:47

Firefly Could you do a really simplified dinner and prep in the weeks ahead (make & freeze roasties one weekend, get ahead gravy another, peel & chop veg & cook the turkey on Christmas Eve (but the bare minimum - carrots & sprouts), ready made stuffing & pigs in blankets) then on Christmas Day it's literally heating things up and boiling / steaming the veg. Could your DH manage that?
If not I'd see if your parents would meet you halfway / deliver a dinner to you.

Fluffy I had a lactose intolerance as a youngster and even though I've grown out of the worst of it (thank god or I wouldn't be able to enjoy cheese Shock I still tend to feel awful after ice cream & milk.

We're going to my parents for lunch today which will be nice as I haven't seen them all week.
We also need to sort the front garden and DH needs to Chuck the hoover around.

In good news, I've just got the detailing / back stitch left on the Coo and it'll be done 😊

FireflyGirl · 06/09/2020 09:53

I feel I should clarify, I started typing my earlier message while I was still in bed, and finished it as I got to the gym - I didn't leave myself 3 minutes to get ready for swimming Grin

I'll definitely look at getting a dinner where you just stick everything in together - you'll all have to let me know when you see the brochures out! We have all of the supermarkets bar Booths within a 20-30 minute drive so I'll have a look at them all (provided I don't have to have a csection and can't drive!).

Booths usually do a brochure you can order, don't they Fluffy? I seem to remember getting it by email last year just for a nosy!

Hope you feel better soon, Wreck. That's the last thing you need!

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2020 10:05

Yes, Firefly. You can sign up to get the email version here. I can post you a hard copy too if you want one?

Crazy, yay for the coo! At least you've mostly grown out of the intolerance. We let the kids have little bits of trigger foods, but not much. It's not worth the resulting digestive (💩) issues!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 06/09/2020 10:11

Firefly Cheat with the turkey. Morrisons (assuming the Deli counter is open) do hand carved turkey from a massive crown. Sainsburys frozen pigs in blankets are in store now and half a dozen are currently in the oven for lunch veg can be prepped at the dining room table the day before and chucked in a pan. That just leaves the roasters, stuffing and gravy unless you do mash, parsnips, colley cheese and peas too like my auntie used to when feeding 18
The only other option is to ask your Mum to bring Christmas lunch on Boxing day?

pussycatinboots · 06/09/2020 10:14

Crazy does that mean that tomorrow you'll start one of your Christmas ones??

TheWoollybacksWife · 06/09/2020 10:17

Feel better soon Wreck

Hope the stiffness wears off quickly Fluffy. What's on the harvest list today?

I think Booths stopped the nationwide delivery option last year Firefly and only delivered within a certain radius of their stores. I wonder if they will go back to nationwide delivery this year - I suppose it depends on if market share would make it viable.

Boots you could attach wire (maybe fishing wire?) to the top and bottom of your wreath. Pass the top wire over the door to the inside. Pass the bottom wire through your letter box. Connect the two wires on the inside of the door. This is usually done with ribbon but wire might make it even more difficult to nick, as you'd need something to cut through it, although you'd need scissors to cut the ribbon.

Mrsmadevans · 06/09/2020 10:17

Morning everyone 😄
beggar me you've been very busy on here you lot! I can't keep up with you all! However I think what Boot said is a great idea Firefly get your mum to bring the Christmas dinner on boxing Day job done 😄👏
I am another one who is desperate for the cushion Fluffy 😂
I am MumBobs will return later 😂

Mrsmadevans · 06/09/2020 10:18

Hope you feel better soon Wreck and less achy Fluffy 💐😄

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/09/2020 10:25

Well done on the coo crazy.

Fluffy my dairy issue is a little different - 🤮 rather than 💩 Blush

puss I think if I'll need to start a crochet project tomorrow and will start the Christmas cross stitch later in the week. I need to have 2 separate craft projects going at the same time rather than just focusing on one.

Thank you most
Do kids still play conkers? I used to love collecting them (from the woods I'm Croesy or Pontypool Park) and having competitions with my cousins.

pussycatinboots · 06/09/2020 10:47

Woolly Not going to get that past DH and his precious door Hmm I've had one inside on the coat cupboard door in the past.

most if you plant one scar side down in a pot, and cover it in about 1" of compost you will grow a tree Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/09/2020 10:59

DD and I use mainly dairy (Alpro in our tea/coffee)
I have Diverticular Disease and working through all the possible antagonists , cow milk was one .
DD also gets cramp with milk so we changed , a huge improvement We do eat a small amount of dairy but if it's in a solid form (like cheddar or halloumi) it's easier to digest .

We're having our gutters replaced soon so I'll hold off on thinking about lights till after then.

The M&S Advent always has a thread on Style&Beauty . I never buy it but I read along . They started with an Aveda Leave In conditioner (full size is £25 and I bought this item instore it is really good) , but it seemed they tailed off a bit into samey black eyeliner and a lipbalm that make peoples mouth peel.
The last one was a Prai neck cream IIRC.
Lots of "Well M&S you'll need to up the ante / this isn't good enough /look what xyz brand are producing/ you can't offer a shampoo and no conditioner/ What? another Percy&Reed"

They would be well within their rights to think "Stuff It- have a gift pack of cream for £30 and go away" Xmas Wink

The cushion is gorgeous , I bought 2 from Asda a couple of years ago that had the sleigh over a full moon / houses landscape . Really tiny but soo cute .
