Here we go!

I've got a busy day tomorrow, so I'm starting this now, ready for when it's needed.

My DD doesn't eat raisins etc, so anything like that doesn't work here!

fluffy would he eat apricots and cherries in a cake? You could adapt a Mary Berry one I use a lot.

pussycatinboots · 12/09/2020 09:14

I'm getting Betty Crocker ads now 🤦🏻‍♀️

pussycatinboots · 12/09/2020 09:16

bloody hell, i typed "she" fgs.

why in 2020 is there not an edit function. 🤬

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 12/09/2020 09:40

I can't imagine Woolly and myself hunting through hedgerows would be any cause for the police to get involved Boots although you never can tell how rowdy these things are going to get mind. Fluffy if I am in charge of picking I better wear gloves as no doubt there will be some spiny things lurking.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 12/09/2020 09:41

I may wear a disguise 70 (not sure what kind of disguise though).

NoWordForFluffy · 12/09/2020 09:41

Nope. She's a pain, Boots. Used to love them. Now doesn't!

I think you may be able to edit if you pay.

My phone keeps capitalising 'may' too. Seemingly doesn't know there are both options. Thick twat.

I like the sound of apricots and cherries in a cake Boots.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/09/2020 09:44

I made fruit bread for DS the other day. That had apricots in, plus cranberries, raisins, currants and sultanas. I've been instructed to do more apricots next time!

I've just posted our NZ Christmas presents. Scraped in 46g under the max weight! We had to wrap in bubble wrap and a plastic posting bag instead of boxing!

Now to the allotment.

why

I don't add water to the icing, if you mash/beat the jam into submission it goes quite runny before you add the icing sugar. It's a squidgy icing too, and doesn't "set" or go hard like normal icing.

fluffy pay? hahahahaha🤣🤣

WreckTangled · 12/09/2020 11:31

Third load of washing in the machine and two on the line. Also had an amazing brownie. I can't control myself with food at the weekend apparently. Dh has done the dusting and is going to get his hair cut in a bit. Dd has done her homework and got over her strop.

That would keep you regular! Sounds delicious.

why I'll keep you posted about the foraging. DH pointed out that loads of the locals have CCTV - I really don't want to be on Crimewatch 😂 I was hoping to have a wreath making day with the friends who came with me to the course last year but if we go into a local lockdown then I'll either only be able to invite one of them or I'll have to send one of my children out to walk round the block for a couple of hours.

lachy · 12/09/2020 12:13

I'm wandering in and waving hello 👋 and drawing up a chair Xmas Grin

I used to be a regular (Mrs Dilligaf, if anyone remembers...)

Hope the familiar names are all keeping well? xxx

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/09/2020 12:39

lachy how the Devil are you ( and just in case you've name changed because you're on the run or somefink ) how is "M"?

lachy · 12/09/2020 13:03

70 Not on the run!! lol. How are you keeping?

M has just started school Confused can't quite believe it but tis true. I still have the hat that Woolly made for her when she was just a baby.

We're in the process of moving house and should be in before Christmas, so I need to get organised!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 12/09/2020 13:05

Woolly we could always go to behind the Holiday Inn, that had loads of various foliage you could use when I went blackberrying a few weeks ago (never say I don't offer to take you to special places 😂)

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 12/09/2020 13:05

Hi lachy hope you are ok.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 12/09/2020 13:06

Thanks Boots that looks great.

Wheelyyyy · 12/09/2020 13:06

Place marking, christmas is definately on my mind

NerosFiddle · 12/09/2020 13:26

Afternoon one and all.

Just back in the house. I have been out of the house since 7 as we had to collect something before they go not lockdown on Monday. I ran into Asda and finally found a magazine too.

WreckTangled · 12/09/2020 13:32

Lachy I've been here quite a few years but my brain isn't working well. I used to be spottyteacakes. Welcome back.

Dd has a sore throat now and is feeling sorry for herself.

CrazyBaubles · 12/09/2020 15:04

Welcome back lachy 👋 I'm a name changer too, but always something with Crazy in it Xmas Smile

Wreck my offer to take the chocolate off your hands is still open 😂

I've been home for about half hour and just going to pop back out again now. I've cleaned, got washing on the line as it's lovely here and had my eyes tested. DH has done the food shop and now we're going for a little walk before planning what to do with the rest of the day.

Woolly I really want to go to a wreath making class but i missed out last year and doubt they'll be running this year.

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/09/2020 15:46

Welcome back lachy. You are going to make me feel old and tell me M is at school, aren't you? How lovely that you have kept her hat Xmas Smile

Wreck would some ice cream help?

Crazy I'm certain that there are loads of tutorials on YouTube. You need a wreath ring, some moss and some florists wire plus greenery, baubles and ribbon. There are a few websites that do wreath supplies but I'm hoping to be able to find a fair bit growing locally. I've got next door's overhanging leylandii conifers, ivy and rosemary in my garden and a laurel hedge to make use of. Hopefully I can get the moss and some eucalyptus stems from the florist and maybe forage some holly. So I'll possibly get everything for less than £10 compared with the £40+ for a course. Plus the satisfaction of doing it myself.

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/09/2020 16:34

Welcome Wheelyyyy. I went shopping with DD2 earlier in the week and we were both discreetly on the lookout for Christmas in the shops. There are one or two touches coming in here and there. That said I'm enjoying the late summer sunshine this weekend. It's nice to get DS's uniform and my DDs work wear washed and dried ready for Monday without having heated airers and radiator racks everywhere.
