Here we go!

I've got a busy day tomorrow, so I'm starting this now, ready for when it's needed.

I've had an email about applying for dds secondary school place Shock

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 07/09/2020 15:18

I am not doing anything major Crazy mostly recovering from the last few weeks at work. I had a power nap this afternoon which was bliss.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/09/2020 15:32

I was going to ask you about that. It's by the end of Oct, isn't it?
OP posts:
WreckTangled · 07/09/2020 15:46

Yes from today until the end of October! We only have one secondary school in catchment though and it'll be that one so not a difficult decision.

CrazyBaubles · 07/09/2020 17:25

Your plans sound good biddy.

I have realised now a lot of 'meetings' can be audio only (unless it's with someone I don't know bexhse I want them to know my face and make a connection as I'm new). So I've started to join meetings with people I know with the camera and mic off, listen and contribute when needed but do small tasks at the same time 👍🏻

My aim for Christmas is to make a small present for members of my immediate family and pair it with something thoughtful but low cost - everyone except my dad is hard to buy for anyway!
I have my snowman for my niece, will make a matching penguin for nephew, hat for dad and a Christmas Dec for mum. Older nephew is 10 and I'm considering making a Nintendo Switch cushion or gloves for him.
ILs generally only do token presents anyway which is fine, and I have 3 friends I exchange gifts with. 2 are crafters so we usually aim for something homemade (I'm thinking Christmas Dec each, book mark for one and not sure about the other) and the other has a £15 max limit.

Power naps are amazing aren't they why? I swear by them.
It's probably good you don't have a massive amount planned - gives you chance to recover as you've been having a tough time in work at the mo!

What years are your dc in if you have to apply for secondary places? Yr5?

I feel a lot more human now. Love the perks of WFH & an understanding company regarding migraines. I took myself back to bed for an hour after taking meds, logged back on and found my boss had rearranged our afternoon meeting to tomorrow (she's a fellow sufferer so she gets it).

I forgot to say, I finished the Coo yesterday (I amended the shading / single thread bit a little). I'm really pleased. It'll be put away now until we move 😊

Crazy I think power naps are awesome. Not had one for ages.

WreckTangled · 07/09/2020 18:12

It is good but had its issues like all schools.

Looks like you'll be running your own pop up pharmacy mrs Grin

pussycatinboots · 07/09/2020 18:13

Mrs That truly is an impressive haul🤣
We went to B&M and bought fat balls for the birdies.
Crazy well done on the coo.🥰

I was sure I posted a "Good Morning" message, but it's not there...Hmm
Oh well, it wasn't particularly enthralling - I got up at 3.30 as I couldn't sleep and fell down the rabbit hole that is "Killing Eve" Xmas Grin then had a power nap once DH was up and about at 7 - it must be the day for it!

NoWordForFluffy · 07/09/2020 18:18

I'm not a big fan of naps as I feel sick when I wake up / can't sleep at night. Hopefully you'll sleep tonight, Why!

Ace coo, Crazy!

Cracking shopping list, Mrs! 😂

Biddy, how frustrating re your dinner plans. I hope DD's shoulder heals quickly.

Your boss sounds ace, Crazy.

My two are OK with Monsters Inc, Neros. I did wonder if DD would get upset while it was on.

Do you think you'll cry tomorrow? I sobbed when my two started!

They all have issues even th epublic posh ones have them Grin Sounds as if they will be happy enough there Wreck which is half the battle Smile I know whenever l go to HB or B& M or Savers l stock up for her , if l have to buy this stuff elsewhere then it costs a packet! Hmm Boot l have had this happen to me a lot lately . l don't know what it is Hmm Very annoying! Grin
Mrsmadevans · 07/09/2020 18:22

Thank you Fluffy it was awful there though the SD is non existant Hmm

WreckTangled · 07/09/2020 18:25

I feel worse after a nap too. My dad has a lunch hour at home so has a twenty minute snooze every single day. I don't know how he gets back up to work.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 07/09/2020 18:42

I will have no problems sleeping at night Fluffy. I could not nap till I started working night shifts now I have it down to a fine art.

pussycatinboots · 07/09/2020 18:42

@Mrsmadevans

Do you mutter behind your mask about their lack of spacial awareness? B&M was basically a free for all. I couldn't get out quick enough!
NoWordForFluffy · 07/09/2020 18:53

My friend shared this with me the other day (Wreck has already seen it!).

Evening everyone.
Haven't been on for a couple of days, mad busy due to getting sorted for uni for DD this weekend Sad Will be sad next week I know, and trying to sort out laptops for my DS and DD ££££ Hope you are all well
Had a manic day at school today, every kid seemed to be kicking off, and all when we were understaffed of course! Rant over Grin

Amazing list Mrs we went to HB on Saturday and stocked up, also liked their Christmas chocolates might or might not have stocked up Grin Grin

Like HB, Savers, B&M but an inch of SD between them!
Don't really like naps as can never sleep at night nodded off on the settee last night though
We are having ham fritters for tea, and my Lockdown cake for afters. Grin

pussycatinboots · 07/09/2020 19:00

Fluffy I may have held my thumb and finger 2cm apart and muttered "and he thinks that's 6 inches" to DH who dragged me rapidly through the shop 🤣🤣

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 07/09/2020 19:28

What a list mrs Grin

Just putting my preschooler to bed for the last ever time. Am going to be a complete mess tomorrow!

CrazyBaubles · 07/09/2020 19:29

What an 'interesting' shopping list you have there MrsMad 😂

I suffer with awful hay fever and allergies so I buy a lot of nasal sprays, eye drops, nasal inhaler things (can't remember what they're called), Olbas oil and antihistamines when I go to those shops.

Love Killing Eve puss

Fluffy I'm definitely lucky with my boss - she has told me not to work any time back too!
And 😂 at the post. My dm has been told off in work for being "too firm" with people not wearing masks correctly and for telling someone to step back as they were way too close!

why I learned how to naps while doing night shifts when I was in uni. I think it just doesn't work for everybody but I'm a fan of getting up early, doing a day in work, having 20 min nap then feeling energised to clean / cook / walk the dog etc.

I noticed a county near me (Caerphilly) is going into lockdown, starting tomorrow after a rise in cases. There's also a confirmed case in one of the parents of a child in DHs class. I think it inevitable that DH will at some point pick it up and bring it home.

Someone motivate me to start crocheting!!

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/09/2020 20:12

Crazy get hooking!!! I'm making chocolate orange covers for Woolly Hugs and then some Christmas bits and bobs.

I'm loving the idea of a Nintendo Switch cushion

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/09/2020 20:21

DS came home just a bit grumpy but has chilled out now.

It just seems like 2 minutes since we got that email Wreck - sounds like you know what school you want.

Biddy how wonderful that you get the option of a sabbatical next year to coincide with your DDs exams.

MrsMad that sounds like my shopping list with 2 people in the household with IBS and me with my dodgy joints. Grin

WreckTangled · 07/09/2020 20:25

We don't have much choice woolly. There's another school 8 miles away but it's out of catchment and county so have to pay for the bus and different term dates, plus I don't think we would get in so not much point in even looking. Otherwise the next nearest secondary is 15 miles away.

Crazy I think most secondary schools will have to close at some point. The primary's might be able to keep it better controlled especially the small ones but who knows. It's all so shit.

Mrsmadevans · 07/09/2020 21:12

Woolly l wanted to sing the list to the 12 days of Christmas but there was too many 5's Grin
Scary about Caerphilly isn't it Crazy bit too close to home for my liking Shock
off now to watch BBC2 medical detectives Smile
