Here we go. We're still a chatty bunch. We're going to knock any previous thread count into a cocked hat!

Go, go, go...

😂😂😂😂

If that's the case, I'll leave it to DH from now on!

DH took over the ironing in this house after DD was born, as he couldn't feed the baby so felt it was an equitable sharing of duties (or at least, somewhat equitable). Before that, I did mine and he did his. Very occasionally, I have done it since but even when he was away for 2 weeks in every 4 (South Africa) for 4 years, he told me to keep it for his time here - he's a keeper!! My mini ironing pad arrived this morning though, I'm going to use it with the travel iron to be able to keep sewing here in the spare room (now that I have a decent desk in it). Mwa ha ha haaaaa!!

I could do with a submarine here today with all the rain, back garden flooded, but further west looks atrocious - google Clifden - looks like rivers running down streets!!

pussycatinboots · 02/09/2020 16:08

Biddy Ah, that's pretty bad. It's positively peeing down here, but no where near that.

NerosFiddle · 02/09/2020 16:28

Biddy I saw Clifden earlier on Twitter. Crazy.

The only thing ironed in this house is Dh shirts for work and he can do that himself. Ds will need his shirts ironed too though when he starts school properly.

Boots I want to paint my shed blue but Dh thinks it'll look terrible.

Crazy I think you're alone in JO.

Though I've decided to watch this today after all the talk

pussycatinboots · 02/09/2020 18:29

Nero I'm sure your DH can cope with small versions of his own too.
I hadn't thought of painting it a colour other than brown...hmmmm...a big pink shed? my DH would go for that, wouldn't he? 🤣🤣🤣
Blue would look fab if you picked the window and barge boards out in white and had some bunting on it - like it's at the beach.
I watched some Fanny last christmas on iplayer. She was, erm, interesting.

Crazy I suspect you may be in the minority of one re: JO

In other news, my fridge is taking an age to defrost and is weeing all over the kitchen

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/09/2020 18:38

Boots go for it. I love the coloured shed paints. I don't think I'd have got away with pink either 😂

This is my shed

Neros deep blue or turquoise blue? We had the same deep blue in our old house that neighbour has - its lovely. But we like the lighter one in the smaller gardens here.

woolly your shed is lovely.
If we get a shed in the next house I want to paint it like a beach hut.

WooHoo for a fellow JO fan MrsMad! I was worried I was going to be booted off the thread!

I'm not allowed in the What shop anymore. I went in about 2 years ago, in the summer and came out with a washing basket, bathroom cabinet, random other odds and sods, Christmas gift boxes, fairy lights and a tree topper 😂

We are currently watching season 3 of Fargo. Has anyone seen it? I haven't seen season 1 yet but they're all stand alone series so it doesn't matter.
I'm persevering even though it's very gory and I'm not enjoying it as much as series 2. And I feel bone tired which means I'm hormonal which I could do without!

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/09/2020 20:47

Cross stitching countdowners this popped up on my Etsy recommendations. Isn't it lovely?

DDad built us a gate to keep DS contained in the back garden, and was outraged that we painted it lilac although that could have been DH's shoddy paint job on the second coat!. I love it, though, adds a bit of character to the garden! The fences are all boring fence-brown.

Over 4 hours at hospital this morning, all looking normal just waiting for swabs to confirm no infection. Other than that, just 'take paracetamol' Hmm

Crazy I think part of the appeal of the Nigella shows I watched is that they are all about the adults; no children with accompanying detritus! Ps - am also a JO fan, although I went off him a bit after DH decided to try and copy his 15 minute pizza recipe while coming down with what turned out to be the 'flu. He had to go to bed before finishing, leaving me starving hungry and scrubbing dough off every fluffing surface in the kitchen, including the microwave and fridge!! We'd only been together a couple of weeks - DH was lucky he made good strawberry daiquiris!!

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/09/2020 20:49

Crazy I don't like gruesome violence. I'm closing my eyes at various bits of Line of Duty but I've heard good things about Fargo. I'm sure DH would love it but he's got a stronger stomach than me anyway 🤮

FireflyGirl · 02/09/2020 20:54

Also - I had the spicy sausage and fennel pasta at his restaurant once (despite not actually liking sausages) and it was one of the nicest pasta dishes I have ever had.

Easy enough to make it at home as well!

MarshmallowManiac · 02/09/2020 20:56

Evening everyone.
Mad day today at work, taking the classroom to bits, and my back is killing me.

Hope the funeral went ok Mrs and that you are alright. Flowers

Firefly hope all went well with your check. Flowers

I feel exactly the same about Nigella Grin
I love JO too Crazy This year we moved into our own house again after renting, and it feels so good to be paying our mortgage instead of someone elses. And with renting you never own anything it's just dead money. I would go for it if it were me Crazy Ours is fixed for 5 years. Smile

DH sometimes does the ironing too Biddy when he takes a figary. Would have both sheds if I had the room and money Grin Am with you, think the tree will go up earlier this year, am craving Christmas!

Mrsmadevans · 02/09/2020 20:58

Crazy & Woolly l don't like the violence either 😱
Not seen Fargo either and not likely to tbh and the LOD with the little boy in and the fingers in the vice being chopped off eeekkk😱
Fire so glad everything is well with you and baby Fire 💐🤗

pussycatinboots · 02/09/2020 21:03

Firefly that's good news from the hosp (isn't it?)
I am a bit tempted by lilac for the bench next summer. I don't think the shed will be anything but boring brown tbh.

Mrs The towels would have been a bargain at £9!

Mrsmadevans · 02/09/2020 21:04

MM yes thank you 😁 funeral went very well she was 97 and had a wonderful life it was really a celebration of a life well spent tbh. Although the crem was even more horrible than usual . Only 30 ppl allowed, no singing, we couldn't even say the lord's prayer or even amen or shake the vicars hand . It was not how l would want to say goodbye to my relatives tbh.
Good that you had a great day in school hot bath with lavender Epsom salts will do the trick 🤗
