Title inspired by the sweltering heat today but I’m still planing Christmas!!!

Thank you to chips for keeping the seat warm for me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

On the subject of popcorn we don't need a maker but I am hoping to find some decent popcorn bowls, in my mind they are the classic red and white stripe ones in ceramic. All I have found so far are flimsy plastic ones or personalised metal bowls but white and blue so don't scream 'popcorn'. DD finally into family movie nights with popcorn so looking to get nice ones that will last

SodOffCovid · 09/08/2020 20:07

Hello, can anyone recommend some nice bubble bath or bombs please at a good bargain price? Nothing too sweet!

BertieDrapper · 09/08/2020 20:09

Anyone know any way to get Barbie stuff at a discount?

DD is obsessed and keeps going on about the aeroplane playset and the dream house - don't think we can get the big dream house as it's over £200 but there's a few smaller ones but they are still around the £100 mark!!

Yeknom · 09/08/2020 20:15

@bertiedraper - I've just bought a Barbie dream house, car and dolls for £35 off FB marketplace. All looks brand new to me!!

My daughter also wanted the dream house and I was Heeeellll No at the full RRP (and a little bit because of the size of the things!!) but I must say I can't wait to see her face when she gets it Smile

Yeknom · 09/08/2020 20:20

@lexloofah what's the budget? These are smart but not red and white www.crateandbarrel.com/large-popcorn-bowl/s446764

Duchessofealing · 09/08/2020 20:23

@lexloofah - there is a vintage one on Etsy now - quite expensive but red and white (I just searched red and white ceramic popcorn bowl). Or there are sellers that I’m sure would do you bespoke. Alternatively - have you had a look at the red cornishware? That might work.

^Morning all!
My little one will be nearly three at Xmas. He’s got suspected autism and likes lights and buttons. I’m thinking of some sort of light toy if anyone can recommend please? I seem to recall children with hand held flashing lights at bonfires and firework shows I can’t seem to find anything?! I’m thinking also of a bubble lamp thing for his bedroom too.^
PinkDaydreams have a look here , they have a lot of pretty cheap light up things, bubble lamps, wands and some lights for the bath too. DS2 is autistic and he likes light up stuff, we got him a disco ball with a remote control so he can change the colours from Argos

ipswichwitch · 09/08/2020 20:36

Italics fail!

ipswichwitch · 09/08/2020 20:38

SodOffCovid try Mrs Snowballs bubble boutique. They’re cheaper than the other high street shop, they smell nice and not overly sweet, and best of all don’t stain the bath!

PowerslidePanda · 09/08/2020 20:52

@recklessgran - I don't think camelcamelcamel monitors things continuously - it just dips in to check every now and then (you can sometimes see how recently it's done it). So if it happens to check the Duplo when it's cheap, you might be in luck, but @Lemming20's approach is probably a better bet.

sideorderofchips · 09/08/2020 21:23

I've found camelcamelcamel very quick when I've used it

What about bomb cosmetics for Bath bombs? You can get nice gift sets

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 09/08/2020 21:24

@InglouriousBasterd I just came back on to tell you about the discount!

If anyone else is interested, iconic lights have 15% off with GIFT15

InglouriousBasterd · 09/08/2020 21:48

Grin great minds!!

PinkDaydreams · 09/08/2020 22:06

Thank you so much to all the posters that have recommended light up gifts, I’m making my way through them slowly now! Flowers

BertieDrapper · 09/08/2020 22:14

@Yeknom that's amazing! I have been keeping a look out on marketplace and eBay but no joy so far!

MummaPI · 09/08/2020 22:16

So glad this thread has started up, it's as much a tradition as putting my tree up!

ItWasTheBestOfTimes · 09/08/2020 22:29

@BertieDrapper I got the Barbie dream plane for £39.99 on Amazon last month so it might be worth putting a camel camel camel on it?

allatonce99 · 09/08/2020 22:52

I did the same as a PP, put the Lego in my basket and kept randomly refreshing it throughout the day. It changed price several times over the last day from £10.99 to £22!

On another note, when I was buying Amazon had the promotion of the 'no rush' delivery option but when I was checking out it then didn't have the option to choose it. That happened on two different items at different times. I contacted Amazon to see what was going on and they gave me a £5 credit, if anyone else had the same thing may be worth a mention? Hopefully it will work on my next purchase as can't keep contacting them! But I have no idea why it wasn't coming up on my previous purchases and neither did the customer services guy!
Might be worth a shot if anyone else had the same problem.

Awrite · 09/08/2020 23:39

@sorryiasked - thanks for the Blue Banana recommendation. I managed to get a slim fit Guns n' Rose's t-shirt for my teen dd. Rarer than hens teeth. Smile

Elphaba17 · 10/08/2020 00:39

Duplo is back down to £10.99 on Amazon.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 10/08/2020 03:36

Hi everyone, excited to be back. Thanks @Reastie for setting this thread up.

I just bought these reuseable lids and fruit bags on Amazon. Not the most exciting present but an excellent eco friendly one! It gave me a £5 off voucher and I also chose no rush to get £1 credit

Bollocksitshappenedagain · 10/08/2020 06:13

Again as PP has said I think camelcamelcamel is constant - it certainly picks up very short time drops.

DoctorYang · 10/08/2020 06:54

I saw the plastic popcorn boxes in Home Bargains for less than £1 each.

Thegirlhasnoname · 10/08/2020 07:28

Yankee Candle have an alright sale on at the moment. I got some cheap as chips voltive holders and accompanying candles to go into a home care hamper I’m planning for my sister... if candles for me just so happened to jump into my shopping basket then that is by the by! 😂

MulberryPeony · 10/08/2020 07:33

@DoctorYang PP wants a ceramic version.
