@recklessgran, I'm afraid Sylvanian bargain hunting is quite labour intensive. The official site can be good, but you really have to put the time in doing Google searches and comparisons on the bits you want.

margaritasbythesea · 23/07/2020 11:36

recklessgran - the offers on the Sylvanian site are good but ne ver mind blowing. The same us true if Jac in a Box which someone on this thread recommended last year. If there is something either of those sited have on offer that you know you want, it could well be your best price.

If you have a range if things that you can choose from to buy, you can try putting on ccc alerts for amazon. They're occasionally better, infrequntly great but sell out quickly.

Argos have the odd thing on a very good offer, but you are then playing the Great Argos Store Hunt.

I'll be posting anything I find too, and I will be hunting for certain things, like the boutique and the cake shop.

MarshmallowManiac · 23/07/2020 11:37

Welcome Lemming just ordering from RexLondon now, got a good sale on, I find them really good for stocking fillers Smile

Reckless my kids used to love Sylvanian families, but many moons ago, they played with them for ages so even though they weren't cheap I feel they were worth buying.

Bit of a sale at Yankee Candles www.yankeecandle.co.uk/browse/special-offers/sale/sale---candles/_/N-80x

OhioOhioOhio · 23/07/2020 12:27

Does anyone buy anything from aliexpress?

recklessgran · 23/07/2020 12:48

Crumbs thanks all for the Sylvanian help - I had no idea it is so complicated to work out deals. I'll just suck it up I think and pay whatever is the best price I can find. I agree that they are lovely toys and worth the money for the play value alone. Thankyou also @MarshmallowManiac I'll keep an eye on that latestdeals website.

I get a lot of my craft stuff from there, have used it for years.
FilthyforFirth · 23/07/2020 12:59

I had posted this on the other thread @recklessgran but this has 50% off so might be worth a look?

Great deal Filthy

BunnyBerries · 23/07/2020 13:27

@recklessgran

Random Sylvanian stuff comes up on offer every so often, and you can set alerts on camelcamelcamel for specific things in case Amazon price matches wherever has an offer.

Tip: if you haven't bought any before don't rely on the photos to judge the price, read the info as most houses/treehouses/cabins/lighthouses don't come with all or even half of the accessories in the photos! Shock

Bluewavescrashing · 23/07/2020 13:36

Have to say I'm glad my DD is beyond the Sylvanian stage. They are very cute but the accessories are so tiny! I could never keep up with tidying stuff away and DD didn't care.

Rex is really nice stuff. I've bought a rucksack, beach bag, stationery, decorations, etc from there and nothing has broken. I made a vow to only buy stocking fillers with purpose so they get used and not chucked in landfill. Cute erasers, post it notes, bike bell, hanging lights, mugs, pencils, hairbrush etc. Brilliant value.

Puffinhead · 23/07/2020 13:48

I bought the Rex London weekend bag/make bag bag and matching accessories for my daughter last year. Excellent quality and a bargainous price in the sales. The animal face masks also went down really well with the kids - they looked so funny.

TakeMeToYourLiar · 23/07/2020 13:52

Generally have found Rex good.

I did buy some fairy lights that didn't work. Unfortunately I didn't try them for 6 months so was too late to return them. My fault really

Vebrithien · 23/07/2020 14:10
Shock How have I never been in Rex London before! Just ordered an amazing make and paint your own solar system model that DD will love + a selection of lovely note pads and crayon sets for stocking fillers.

There is an Aldi baby and toddler event on.

Bert2020 · 23/07/2020 14:57

@Vebrithien how do you see the Aldi event please? Mine says coming soon.

OhioOhioOhio · 23/07/2020 14:58

Thank you tabby. I heard that the lego is good. Might try out a cheap set first. What about kon tiki towels, does anyone have a discount code or copycat version they could recommend?

MulberryPeony · 23/07/2020 15:11

Anyone buying for gym bunnies/teens www.kukubird.co.uk/collections/unicorn-heaven 2 pairs (normally £11.98 each) for £5 plus p&p!

recklessgran · 23/07/2020 15:41

Thank you everybody - my head is bursting from looking at all the Sylvanians stuff. I think I'm going for the supermarket and the nursery bus - shame that doesn't come with ANY of the babies to put in it so thanks @BunnyBerries for the tip as I would have thought you'd get at least one. I'm going to sleep on it, talk to DD2 [DGD's mummy] and order tomorrow. I've got DGD's 3rd birthday in October as well as Christmas to think about so room for more ideas if anything comes up.
Great to see all the new faces as well as all the regulars popping back on here. It feels like an old school reunion - such a happy friendly place! Special wave to @Vebrithien - how's little E. doing? Often think of you when I'm hanging out [mainly on the naughty step] over on the weight loss thread. That's a happy friendly place too. Right, better get off here and do some work.

ValiaH · 23/07/2020 15:48

Thanks for the Schleich horse set tip on the other thread! I'm also looking out for Sylvanians, last year Smyths £10 off every £50 was the best deal I found for a lot of them as long as they were in stock. I've been a lurker for the last few years, looking forward to the rest of this years threads!

FireflyGirl · 23/07/2020 16:31

Thanks for the gruum tip, @recklessgran. I managed to get 4 bars for £11 delivered.

Started using these after someone posted the deal last year, and they're my favourite shampoo bars.

icedaisy · 23/07/2020 18:11

Few mentions of a Christmas app. Any recommendations? Sounds better than my paper crumpled list.

Aww no missed the morphe brushes! I do need to make an order from River Island though so if you have a Unidays or student beans code that I could use @NightOwl19 that would be very much appreciated
