Lovely House Nero
l am just looking to see if there are any duvet covers about lol

FireflyGirl · 22/06/2020 18:07

It'll be interesting to see what happens.

If there's no second wave, everything could be nearly back to normal...

Neros my cross stitch arrived today, so that's my plan for this evening Grin

am having a field day here lol

KVlovesWinter · 22/06/2020 19:58

Evening!

It's cloudy and so humid out tonight I really don't like it so hot, much prefer autumn and winter.

Mrs those duvet covers are fab, love the advent one 😀 really tempted to order some.

Going to crack on with the cross stitch tonight while Ds watches the football

WreckTangled · 22/06/2020 20:03

I've never managed to get festive bedding. Will it finally be the year?! Probably not, I just can't bear to spend money we haven't got on something we don't need (even though I really want them!)

KVlovesWinter · 22/06/2020 20:25

The festive bedding we have now are around 5 years old, picked them up in the sales and they've lasted ages but I really want new ones this year

NerosFiddle · 22/06/2020 20:45

Mrs all my sponsored posts on FB and insta is Christmas bedding now Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 22/06/2020 20:52

I love Christmas bedding. The Matalan set last year was disappointing though as it tore along the seam, so I had to take it back.

I'll stick to the ones we already had!

The kids have two sets each, so they can alternate. They do tend to have the Snowdog ones on all year, however! 😂

I've made the seven layers for DD's cake. I'm going to do the buttercream in between the layers and crumb layer in a bit.

Love the little tea-light house ( I bought some Hallowe'en houses years ago IIRC from John Lewis , thin metal, black . Battery flickering tealights do the job an safely)

I have those glass open front bauble hanging lights , at Easter I fill them with those tiny yellow chickens .

The Christmas duvet covers are lovely , I think I'm going to have a loook at that website .
I was tempted by a grey check one from QVC ( microfibre) soft , warm m, much easier to wash/dry than the heavy brushed cotton, but the pattern didn't wow me .

DD has Matalan Stag Fleece , she hibernates in it from Nov 1st Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 22/06/2020 21:38

Mrs all my sponsored posts on FB and insta is Christmas bedding now Grin
HAHAHA @NerosFiddle be glad it wasn't unmentionables ! Grin @Fluffy l can't bear those button fastening duvet covers , l much prefer snappers. That is not like Matalan they have always been excellent ime but you can always get a dud! 7 layers! You are a good un, she will love that l bet, can we see a pic after please ? Smile
FireflyGirl · 22/06/2020 21:40

DS has Paw Patrol Christmas bedding. We only has two sets of bedding for each bed (I Marie Kondo'd the house while on maternity leave and loved it, and I usually get the main set washed and dried in one day), and that is his second set, so it is often on his bed if he has an accident. Mine and DH's Christmas bedding only comes out in December. I bought a new fleecy/teddy set last year, which I loved, but had to swap DH back to the old flannel set as he was so warm he got heat rash!! (He's a duvet-hog, so we have one each).

I did an afternoon tea for Father's Day yesterday, so we're still eating leftover donuts and scones, but I fancy making carrot cake next week... Don't think I'd have the patience for 7 layers, though, Fluffy Shock

KV I had to give up with my cross stitch tonight, I'm so tired I kept going cross-eyed. Watched shark programmes on NowTV instead Grin

Mrsmadevans · 22/06/2020 21:42

70 she has the right idea Grin l must have a look at QVC Smile
Wreck l am listening to the audio book of Stephen Fry HP & The Philosophers stone l loabed it from the library , he is excellent at story telling . Am enjoying it Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 22/06/2020 22:00

I've assembled the cake and done the crumb layer buttercream. I'll get up early to do the top layer as I'm not doing it tonight!

We have loads of bedding. Seriously, a ridiculous amount. We need no more!

I have sultanas soaking in Amarreto for a fruit cake for DD .
Cherries , some nuts .
Marzipan, icing .
Christmas Cake-ey but lighter .

Then I'll do some fairy cakes on the day , she's insisting on eating the Raw Cake (like Worzel Gummidge Xmas Grin )

My DS has an ancient QVC red fleecy bedding set , he grumbles at my Christmas Euphoria but likes this bedding in the cold .

I bought Christmas fleece blankets when my DC were little rather than bedding (it wasn't A Thing back then )
One of the fleeces goes on the sofa , one in storage for my DD to give to her child - when she has him, she has it all planned . University , Qualify , Find Suitable Husband , Have One Baby Son -

The rest of them ended up donated to the guinea-pigs over the years .

DH isn't a fan but I'll ignore him and look anyway !

KVlovesWinter · 22/06/2020 22:56

We all have the same Rudolph bedding, the Dc also have the teddy fleece bedding which is way too hot for me.

Fire I didn't even start my cross stitch tonight 😁 my eyes are too tired after sitting in front of a computer screen all day. So Netflix it was with coffee and cake.

Fluffy your 7 layer cake sounds great, I once made a Ds a 4 layer one and that was bad enough

70 your cake sounds amazing I love all of those

Has anyone tried the Cherry bakewell gin?

Pussycatinboots · 23/06/2020 06:17

Morning all.
Sorry I've been MIA for a bit - horrendous migraine followed by D&V (possibly dodgy fish - I hate fish anyway, what was I thinking?)
I'm cream-crackered! Will catch up with the thread in a bit.

Morning!

Sorry you've been unwell, Boots. I hope you're on the mend.

I'm about to get up and finish the cake. The joys!

It's meant to be nice but not scorching hot today. Just right for our beach trip! Though it's high tide at 1.30pm, so we will have to go into the woods then.

No school work today! Rebels!

WreckTangled · 23/06/2020 07:24

My dc have got forest school today so they have to wear long sleeved tops and jeans. They're allowed to take a change of clothes but ds is having a meltdown at the thought of having to get changed at school.

Fire I use a really easy kids recipe for carrot cake on bbc good food and it's so nice!

NerosFiddle · 23/06/2020 07:42

Morning.

I had the worst nights sleep. It's not even 8 and I'm ready to go back to sleep.

Boots hope you're feeling better now.

Fluffy happy birthday to your dd.

I have a cotton brushed winter bedding I bought a few years ago in Matalan. It's red and cream tartan. I don't know why I bought it because it doesn't really go with the rest of my room but it's cosy in winter.

I also have an Elf one which goes on Christmas week.
