PJ that's got to be worrying Flowers
Found out earlier that DHs mates dad is in hosp with it. He's in his 70s and has loads of health issues too. Poor bugger.

Looks like a lovely week of weather...what I'd give for a walk on a deserted sandy beach at the mo! and a 99

CrazyBaubles · 19/04/2020 07:23

PJ sorry to hear about your colleague - that's definitely too close.

Fluffy the cross stitch looks so good - when do you think you'll be finished?

puss It's scary isn't it?

The weather has truly turned here - it's cold and grey again. It seems to have rained overnight too.

Currently in bed watching Orange Is The New Black with no plans for the day except some washing, crocheting and cooking tea

WreckTangled · 19/04/2020 07:33

PJ how horrible hope they're ok.

I know of two people who've died now; my neighbours sister and my other neighbours friends husband. Back to work tomorrow so I'm sure I'll start knowing more. Our pandemic modelling is showing peak staring a week tomorrow and going into May. I still can't believe it's happening but try not to think about it too often as it's just too much.

Ds woke us up before half six. DH is still in bed. I'm pleased I have overnight oats in the fridge for ds, makes mornings so much easier.

Today will mainly be tidying and getting things ready for tomorrow. Roast chicken salad for dinner. Plus a walk.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/04/2020 08:26

I don't think I know of anyone who's died of it, luckily. I imagine that will change though. I'd be incredibly lucky if it didn't.

My best friend is recovering from it / secondary pneumonia at the moment (midwife) and another (nurse) friend has also had it.

I woke at 7.45, with the kids waking just after.

Puss, that must be hard for your DH's mate. I hope he recovers.

Crazy, maybe two more nights as it's quite fiddly with various colours and lots of counting / re-counting. Though that bit will get easier as I fill it as there'll be fewer holes to fill and I'm getting to the point that I don't care if it's wrong; who'll know?.

I also want a normal bedtime tonight!

Your lazy day sounds lovely.

Wreck, are you dreading tomorrow? Are the kids going to school? How do they feel?

I'm allotmenting today. Though I'm still broken from last time. I'm getting very toned arms! 😂

They seem to be looking forward to it. I think the novelty of being home has worn off. I'm also weirdly looking forward to it but at the same time am worried as there's no social distancing in place and I feel like I'm putting the whole family at risk and I don't want to die Grin but also I want to help and I'm pleased that I can.

pussycatinboots · 19/04/2020 08:50

fluffy you've reached the "no shits given" part of the pattern Grin it happens a lot with background I find.
His mate has quite a complicated family (including a half-sis that doesn't know about their dad/him etc) so he's really struggling as to what to do/say for the best, and it's not looking good.

Wreck my DH had a bit of a lie in, but not as much as he does in the winter. I get a bit cross if he gets up before 7.30!

FireflyGirl · 19/04/2020 08:50

Morning, it is glorious here. No rain, which would have been nice. Think I'm going to have to water the garden!!

Sorry to hear it is getting closer to you, puss and PJ. My mum and one of my best friends have had it, quite severe but not bad enough to need hospitalisation. Thankfully, I don't personally know anyone who has had it bad or passed from it.

I did a pub quiz through YouTube last night with my friends, which was okay (I won Grin), and we all chatted through HouseParty. If you did one that way, you could all work together as a team and compete with the other people doing the quiz?

Enjoy the allotment Fluffy.

Hope tomorrow goes okay, Wreck. Are the kids ready for it?

Enjoy your lazy day, Crazy.

What are you cooking for us all today, MrsM? Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 19/04/2020 09:37

Yes he has had a mild case luckily, and luckily and luckily I didn't see him for too long last weekend, and we had masks on, I'm off next weekend thankfully.

I love quizzes, not very good at them bu ti still enjoy them Grin

WreckTangled · 19/04/2020 13:43

I think the dc are ready for school. They're driving me mad so must be.

I've done a 40 minute tabata, removed my moustache, plucked my eyebrows, made ds pasta for his lunches and put a chicken in the oven. DH has blitzed the kitchen, sitting room and bathroom. We're going on a walk after lunch.

I have a PDF of my quiz as I sent it to my sister. It's a shame I can't send it to everyone here Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 19/04/2020 17:32

Oops. I called your colleague 'she', PJ. I misgendered the poor bloke, as if it wasn't bad enough already!

I've been cooking myself at the allotment. I did 4 hours' digging of plot 2, then a bit more (much easier!) digging of plot 1 to get rid of mares tail (it'll be back tomorrow, it's awful stuff and rampant over the whole site) and laying little paths to break the plot up so I don't have to walk on the soil too much. I did just over 5 hours in total.

I reckon 3 more visits will get plot 2 cleared. Finally!

Wreck, I think ours would probably love to go to school to have some other company / see different walls. Grin

Your quiz sounds great, Firefly. Wreck, we should have a Christmas thread Skype / FaceTime / Zoom quiz. It'd be hilarious!

Hope your colleague is ok PJ!

Good work fluffy :) I have had a productive day passing seedlings onto neighbours and potting on various ones. Hope to get the last of my second earlies in before bed. Allotment tomorrow :)

Made a Greek style roast chicken for dinner and a massive gooey cookie dough pudding :)

Mrsmadevans · 19/04/2020 19:14

Evening everyone Smile
Have been busy doing nothing working the whole day through Grin

Not strictly true, been to see to Mum & Bob , Dh cooked them fish, chips and mushy peas for a treat today , they been missing their weekly cod n chips Grin . Everything seemed fine there with them, had to send 2 sympathy cards out to my Mum's dancing friends whose Dd lost her Dh to the Virus. He was fit and well, only 62 Sad.
I agree with you PJ IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS GETTING CLOSER , glad your workmate has a mild dose Flowers
fire Have not done any cooking today but you have all been very productive Smile l been too busy watching 'Broadsword calling Danny Boy ' Grin & the Govt CV update and l have just finished the most brilliant book , The Lying Room by Nicci French, l couldn't put it down Grin
Wreck you just be careful tomorrow , don't be put off re no PPE l am sure it will soon be sorted, hope the Dc enjoy school . l have a feeling they will love it Smile
Most that cookie dough pud sounds delish drool Grin
Fluffy that allotment is amazing well done , it looks so neat and tidy! Smile am so glad your friends are recovering from the virus Flowers
Crazy it turned out lovely here afterwards , we even had our dindins outside Grin
Boot hope it is good news for your Dh friends Dad it's so horrible Sad
Just about to have tea, got an Indian takeaway box from Asda so hope it is nice, not in the mood for cooking tonight but am going to do a Corned beef hash for tomorrow with leeks in it , hav enever tasted it before never even cooked it before but am looking forward to it Grin
Better shift and do the curry, we are going to watch the Royal Gwent ITU series tonight it is excellent, nthing to do with CV 19, it was filmed last Summer, it is so good, gives you a really good idea of how they work in there Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/04/2020 19:27

Very Sad to read about the cases of Covid19 on here - it makes it really real when it isn't just numbers on a headline .

I have no doubt someone n our dept will contract it , really just a matter of time . The updates all along this last few weeks have been more a case of "when" rather than "if"

DH has been tidying the garden, I did the pressure hose blasting . We got the DC roped in, my DS was almost blinking in the sun like a Pit Pony .

Mrsmadevans · 19/04/2020 20:36

Grin @70isaLimitNotaTarget son like a pit pony ahhh bless him Smile
Meant to say too, NDN came home Friday , he is fine thankfully but he will never go to 'THAT PLACE' IE the Royal Gwent Hospital again, l think they were very kind to him but it's a huge upheavel for a 90 yr old who is scared of getting CV . I think he will be ok, bit shellshocked and exhausted. He said there were no patients on Urology ward , he was the only one there!! I don't know whether to believe him or not but he isn't GaGa so l am bound to believe him Shock

pussycatinboots · 19/04/2020 21:06

Mrs When DH was in the Cardiac ward a fortnight ago, there were 3 non-cardiac male patients and him in a 6 bay half ward - the other 6 bays were empty.
They've shuffled patients around and split the whole site in two, Nurses described it as "clean" and "dirty" Shock

Mrsmadevans · 19/04/2020 22:02

Good God Boot it must be really easy working on the normal wards compared to how busy they are normally but like a war zone in the ITU units. Aw bless them , l wouldn't want to be anywhere near a clean ward eat alone a dirty one !!! Sad

PJMasksGhekko · 19/04/2020 22:56

Not impressed with another work mate who I work more closely with. I don't believe much of what she says anyway, but she showed us a picture of her and her Granddaughter that was I think taken yesterday, her husband should be shielding, so from the looks of things they are still doing childcare for this daughter while her husband does night shift, or she's staying at there's while he's doing it. I'm not 100% sure

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/04/2020 23:30

Hi folks. Feels like all I am doing is working at the moment.

pussycatinboots · 20/04/2020 05:48

Morning.
Happy Monday at least...I think it's Monday

Mrs The Nurses were wearing PPE in the ward, but not in the corridor/office etc. So when it was busy, one Nurse would stay in the ward wearing PPE and another would be in the corridor fetching anything she needed, put it next to the door and step back while the Nurse stuck her head out of the ward and grabbed it.
They were all very positive. "This is the safest place you could be" etc.

PJ what a bloody moron. It's showing a lot of peoples true colours.

why Flowers when do you next get a day or two off?

WreckTangled · 20/04/2020 06:44

Morning. I've not been a wake this early in weeks let alone up and dressed!

Fluffy that would be fun!

Why Thanks

Wish me luck everyone

pussycatinboots · 20/04/2020 07:03

Good Luck Flowers

Morning! Sunny again today! It's never-ending. ☀️☀️☀️

I'm not sure what I'm doing today as it's back to (home) school for the kids so I'm superfluous to requirements! I'll go and water the allotment, and probably fling the hoe round too. But other than that, I think I've definitely peaked too soon. 😂

I'll go and do a day of digging tomorrow, I think. I really want to get all of the grass gone before I'm back to work. I'll then re-dig before planting in the ground and then next year it should be much easier.

PJ, there are idiots everywhere, sadly.

The kids have taken to sleeping past 8. It's weird. DS was laughing in his sleep at about 7, but other than that there's not been a peep! 🤣😱

NoWordForFluffy · 20/04/2020 08:07

Oh, I forgot: good luck, Wreck!

FireflyGirl · 20/04/2020 09:02

Good luck Wreck and mini-Wrecks.

Fluffy DS talks in his sleep as well, it's so cute. Mostly mumbling, but yesterday he shouted out 'What the jiggins' 🤣

It's a phrase from one of his books, which we had read before bed, but it was just so funny coming out of nowhere at 3am!

PJ my friend's neighbours parents come round and take the kids for their daily walk Hmm Can't cure stupid...

Flowers why, hope your shifts calm down soon.

70 I think my DS will be like yours when he's older - I literally have to bribe and threaten him to get him out of the house, and he's only 5!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 20/04/2020 09:07

Boots I have four days off from Friday night. Then back on nights for two shifts. I have annual leave the first week of May.
