I 2nd Boots suggestion, wine and beer please Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 15/04/2020 14:42

Wreck - I think some sort of smoke grenade down the chimney would be very useful.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/04/2020 18:11

Wreck, death is too good for your neighbours!

I third (fourth / fifth) the booze and snacks suggestion.

I went to the allotment to water today, then went to the little Tesco to buy milk and non-alcoholic cider. I also got a pack of Squashies and 4 packs of Mini Eggs (reduced to 25p each). All essentials, obvs!

I also want rain so that I don't have to keep trekking to the allotment to water stuff. It was like this last April, so no doubt it'll change and rain plenty soon enough. Why it can't just balance out I don't know.

Honestly who needs heir fire going all day in this weather?!

We had a little walk then a short bike ride. I'm really not good on a bike so had to ensure flat ground Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 15/04/2020 18:29

In washing news, I did our bedroom curtains today. So rock'n'roll! I also realised that I hadn't cleaned the kids' bedroom windows, so did those too. And painted the porch door frame as some had peeled off since I did it last year (I sanded it the other day, and cleaned it with sugar soap in prep - the paint has now appeared!).

I think I'll wash the dining room curtains now! Wooooo!

Boot it's the only thing l found helped my sore hands, gloves and hand cream overnight, so painful Why Flowers
Been to see to Mum & Bob, Dh was a good un and helped Bob to cut his grass, it was getting very long. They seemed fine there, did loads of washing and hanging out for them, tidying and cleaning the bathroom and the kitchen. Cat's are sorted at last. l found a filter for the cat's fountain so l dont have to change the water everyday now.
Imagine me changing the water in it everyday..... there is water everywhere & n'eer a drop to drink Grin
Have mixed a jar of decaff in with Bob's normal coffee tin Grin .l thought l would do it now while there is a possibility of them not being able to detect it because l have no hope of getting to Sainsbury's to buy another for him so he will have to have Asda's pretend gold blend when l have my Asda C&C on Saturday.
Fluffy cannot get a Tesco slot for love nor money Grin
Got Mum's meds , had to queue for ages outside for them , at least they were all there though! Made her ring her friends , they were all worried about because they can't reach her in Llangorse, no mob signal and his main line is dicky at the best of times Hmm. Her one friend is in Hospital non CV19 related thankfully . She is much better and will be home soon fingers crossed. Her other friend wanted pics taken of her garden for me to send to the grandchildren , she has done Easter decs and a fairy garden for them but they can't come to see them bless her, so have sent them to her Dil via her Fb page.

Morning! I've been awake ages for no reason!

Most, great news. It's such a relief, isn't it?

I'm allotmenting today; I need to get the new side dug over. It's meant to be glorious, so I'll need sun cream!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/04/2020 06:54

Mrs, you sound so busy yourself with everything you're doing! I'm surprised your mum and Bob haven't killed each other yet though! Grin

WreckTangled · 16/04/2020 07:13

Most that's great news!

In need to finalise my ASDA delivery today. It's so stressful, I don't want to forget anything!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/04/2020 07:24

Oh god. Never amend an Asda order as half will be out of stock now!

I've only been amending my Tesco one if my flour remained in stock so I get a sub! Same for the one I've done for my parents on Sat!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 16/04/2020 07:31

Asda you can only amend in the 48 hours before its due so it's the first time I've done it! Looks well stocked so far...

NoWordForFluffy · 16/04/2020 07:36

Rare for Asda (the threads about them on here are numerous)! It's the supermarket I have most issues with, delivery-wise. I've not been able to get a slot since lockdown though so maybe they're doing better! Or maybe your local store is an outlier! 😂

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 16/04/2020 07:45

The ASDA slots are released at 10pm from the following week. It's worth a go! We can't get any Tesco delivery slots. Asda isn't my favourite food shop but hopefully I'll get most of it.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/04/2020 07:55

I keep missing Tesco ones as I nod off! 🤦‍♀️

I'm concerned that my parents haven't got anything after this Sat as I can't get anything.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 16/04/2020 07:57

I've stayed up until 12 a few times and they're still all gone. Definitely try ASDA if you can, although it's not as good quality it does seem easier to get a slot.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/04/2020 08:20

I'll try for my parents, definitely. I'm able to go to the shop so will do that!

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 16/04/2020 08:35

Morning.

I've been able to get asda slots but they don't have a lot of the stuff. No eggs, flour, sugar, fizzy drinks and most of the meat this week. I don't normally get my meat in the supermarket but I can't go out to the butchers.

Most well done. We won't hear until 28th.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/04/2020 08:52

You see, that's my usual Asda experience!

Neros, I'll bet they'll deliver if you call them. Loads are round here.

FireflyGirl · 16/04/2020 10:54

It's getting a bit surreal in the Firefly household this morning - DS has just asked me if the Easter Bunny believes in the School God...

He goes to a CofE school, but DH is atheist and I haven't been to church regularly in about 15 years, hence why he calls God the School God although at one stage he did think his headteacher was the School God.

He has concluded that the Easter Bunny is indeed a Christian, and is now defending his Magnatile tree house with Star Wars space ships. Is it any wonder my brain is fried??

WreckTangled · 16/04/2020 11:06

Firefly that's so funny Grin it must be confusing for them. My dc go to a community primary but even then they have to teach Christianity Hmm especially as their old head was married to a vicar. We're both atheists but my mum is Christian so they've heard lots of different things!

I've exercised then, when walking to the shower half naked, spotted my neighbour looking straight through our window Blush hopefully he couldn't see as far back as I was standing, if not I probably made his day (or made him sick Grin)

pussycatinboots · 16/04/2020 11:07

Firefly maybe his imagination is in overdrive? he's being deprived of fellow school god believers his mates? if lockdown lasts too long, expect the same question but with Father Christmas in place of the bunny Grin

most well done Smile

I can't get any deliveries as I'm not one of their existing online customers, they refuse to let me register. They could "check" my "loyalty" spending through their Nectar/Clubcards I used to drive to their stores Sainsx2 and Tescox1 every week so they've shot themselves in the foot and lost a customer, as I'm now visiting my local Morrisons on a Tues and will not bother going back to either when all of this "goes back to normal". If I want a "treat" I'll go to M&S. Bugger Sains and Tesco!

pussycatinboots · 16/04/2020 11:17

Wreck we've lived here about 15yrs...I only twigged that NDNs could see me in the shower when the window is open, so all bloody summer when I spotted their 16yo son walking past while I was cleaning the shower/door from the inside ShockShockBlushBlush
Maybe I should drop the blind? Hmm

WreckTangled · 16/04/2020 11:23

DH says I'm an exhibitionist and just told me NDN is always looking. I say if that's the highlight of their day then so be it 😂

Tbf we can go to the supermarket but even without the new rules going to the supermarket takes 2.5 hours because they're so far away so I dread to think how long it would take in these circumstances. The ones that are closer are really small ie expensive and not much stock.
