Puss that there is Russian Herring

I wandered in one day and looked about ( not just charging straight for the cake dept) , I am not Polish speaking but some of the pictures on the tins , and the jars are clear so I could see the mouth watering contents ............... I had no blinking clue what they were but they looked to be an "aquired taste"

pussycatinboots · 13/04/2020 17:07

Mrs I like the Pilau rice from Tesco, luvly jubbly with a ruby Grin
I don't think she fed the cakes, she drowned them!

Woolly Happy Birthday to your DD too Cake

The daily briefing is on, will Raab remember not to lick his fingers today?Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 13/04/2020 17:15

Herring?! That there fish is in NO WAY a herring. Has it been swimming in contaminated waters?! 😱😱

I'm going to the allotment every third day, I think. It's not fair on DH otherwise in relation to child-shepherding! The next two times I go I can concentrate on digging the new plot. Finally!

We have located the missing paint! Not the chocolate though. 1 out of 2 isn't bad, I suppose.

Soggy, raw, overly-alcoholic, cake sounds 🤮🤮

Boots, I keep checking the sweetcorn which I only sowed the other day. I share your DH's impatience!

Hi everyone. I have immensely enjoyed my days off. I fixed the computer yesterday (which means I updated Windows but dining out on being a techguru)

Working long days the next couple of weeks so it won't be quite so bad hopefully.

70 Why on earth has someone crammed Jaws into a Jar? Most peculiar.

pussycatinboots · 13/04/2020 17:18

Thanks, 70 note to self, never buy Russian Herring
I know the bigger supermarkets have some of the more unusual offerings, Tesco do a lovely Polish chocolate bar with a strawberry cream filling (it's in a blue wrapper) hang on, let me have a hunt...

this one Grin

pussycatinboots · 13/04/2020 17:27

fluffy Chernobyl?!
The cake was indeed rather unpleasant - DH lied and told her it was delicious to spare her feelings (he wouldn't let me be honest) Grin
Well done on finding the paint...he's probably used the chocolate to placate the kids since the schools closed.

why ah, a techguru! I needed you a week or so ago!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 13/04/2020 17:38

I am traumatised by whatever that fish thing was!

Happy birthday Woollys DD Cake

I am so impatient with waiting for things to germinate. Love quick germinaters like lettuce and radishes. I too am watching early for my carrots, spring onions, potatoes, peas, cabbages and broccoli. My chillies are still germinating about 8 weeks after sowing Shock

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 13/04/2020 19:15

Boots Please feel free to enlist my techguru services in future disclaimer I can't confirm that all such technical adventures will be as successful.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/04/2020 20:13

Ohh Happy Birthday WoollyDD Cake

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/04/2020 20:33

Thank you for all of DD1's birthday wishes. We've had a lovely day. She loved her necklace and her American pancake brunch and this afternoon we've had a Lord of the Rings marathon followed by pizza. Just DD2's birthday next week and then that's us all done celebrating until Christmas, although we are going to have a post lockdown extended family celebration as it will be DD2's 21st.

WreckTangled · 13/04/2020 20:39

Ooo Woolly we were visiting hobbiton three years ago in New Zealand! Must get dd into the books I think. Pleased your dd enjoyed her day and liked her gifts.

Dd has been awful tonight. I did tell her off but after that I just let her stomp around whilst getting ready for bed (it was her refusal to go to bed that started it). DH, on the other hand, got fed up of her and has banned her from zooming her friends tomorrow. I think he's gone OTT and you need to pick your battles, he thinks she needs to learn not to be so rude. She went off to bed in tears, I remember the hormones and feeling like everyone was ganging up on me all the time. I have to go with what he says though don't I? Sad

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/04/2020 20:59

Ooh that's hard Wreck. Parenting as a team vs cutting her a bit of slack to take account of hormones and strange times. How old is she?

WreckTangled · 13/04/2020 21:51

She's 10 in June bet has been 'growing up' for almost two years now. She's very hormonal at times, lots of crying for unknown reasons. I think it's a hard time for everyone right now and we all deserve a bit of slack!

DH picked up a few bits from Tesco earlier. He was so cross because no one was following the new one way system and people were walking away from their trolleys to get things and just generally being inconsiderate Angry I feel better now we have some food in the house though, I always feel a bit uneasy when we're down to the dregs Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 14/04/2020 08:28

Morning!

And yet another glorious day! ☀️ It's a bit chilly, but I think we got up too late for the really cold weather. There certainly wasn't a frost (we don't often get one here).

DH is going for a run in a bit and then I'll wander to the allotment to water the peas and beans as they're too small to get their roots right down into the soil yet. I'll take the kids on their scooters if they fancy it.

This afternoon is bean-sowing time (runner, green and some of my coloured / stripy beans!).

What's everyone else up to?

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 14/04/2020 08:31

Wreck, the one way system is a bit baffling! I was had a joke with a man trying to buck the system (from a distance!). The Easter egg aisle was carnage and a total free for all.

We stayed up way too late last night (I've had too much sleep recently so had to balance it out!). My cross stitch benefitted (after a big chunk of unpicking. Sigh).

It's nice here as well, for the first time in about a week. The forecast warm bank holiday weekend was a bit of a washout, to be honest!

I've had cramps all weekend, so spent most of it feeling sorry for myself and letting DH do all the parenting/cooking/sorting. He's back at work today, so I've put my big girl pants on and done some sorting and cleaning.

DS played Lego and then with a gift DSis bought him a couple of weeks ago - it was a plaster of Paris 'rock' that you 'excavate'. Kept him quiet while I cleaned the downstairs loo, but there is dust and dusty footprints EVERYWHERE through the living/dining room (and kitchen, as he swept up afterwards, bless him)! I owe her one for that - think DN needs a drum kit as a thank you gift Grin

CrazyBaubles · 14/04/2020 11:48

Wreck could you have a little chat with her today. Ask why she didn't want to go to bed etc and maybe make a plan that she can show she can do it tonight then can zoom tomorrow? Or earn back being able to zoom today by apologising and doing something in the house?

Fluffy your cross stitch it looking lovelier everytime you post a pic 😍

70 that pic Shock No idea what was in the bucket but it looks grim!

Firefly are you feeling any better today?
That sounds like a present I would buy for my nephews or nieces 😂

It seems to be another lovely day here too. My second load of washing is about to go on the line - is it sad that I'm actively looking for things that need washing just to take advantage now I have a washing line? 😂

I finished Joey - I'm quite pleased with him although his face is a little uneven. I'm crocheting a little textured square which I find relaxing. I have about 10 of them now and I think they'll become a blanket one day...

Crazy he's amazing! Unfortunately it's got worse here because I found dd on the iPad Angry she tried to hide it and then was awful when I asked her why she lied. She's now banned all week. I feel guilty but I won't have lying.

Firefly hope you're ok.

Fluffy that's my favourite cross stitch can't wait to see it finished.

PJMasksGhekko · 14/04/2020 13:10

Hi, been missing in action sorry.

Yesterday I put all the clean washing away.

It's dd1s birthday on the 27th, no idea what to get her, and we'll be ordering a takeaway i think.

FireflyGirl · 14/04/2020 14:05

Aw, Joey looks amazing Crazy. Your DMIL will love him.

Still cramping today, but I've already had a scan to confirm it's not ectopic so there's nothing more the hospital will do. I just have to wait for my next scan in 2 weeks.

It's such a nice feeling to get things washed and put away, isn't it!

I've been making a list of all the jobs that need doing in each room to try and motivate myself. It's just made me more miserable Confused So I potted on my tomatoes and labelled everything with my label maker (best present DH ever bought me Grin)

Bless you, Wreck. I'm the same - DS gets in more trouble for lying than doing something wrong.

It's my birthday next week, and I am also demanding takeaway Grin

WreckTangled · 14/04/2020 14:12

I remember feeling crampy with both mine, with ds I was high risk of ectopic and mc Thanks will keep crossing my fingers for you firefly

Ds wants me to make him some overnight oats for breakfasts so will do that in a bit. I've baked some low carb chocolate brownies too. Otherwise I haven't really done anything again today really can't be bothered. Another day another pair of leggings and still no bra Grin

Well done PJ can you come and do mine?!

PJMasksGhekko · 14/04/2020 14:22

I think I will say no to your wonderful offer Wreck Grin
Yes I love it when it's all away, but it doesn't take too long for it to pile up again!!

I'm supposed to be doing upstairs today but I can't be bothered.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/04/2020 14:30

Joey is ace, Crazy!

Firefly, how far along are you now? I was really crampy in early pregnancy, especially with all the round ligament pains etc. Flowers to you as it must be stressful after your miscarriages.

I've been to the allotment to water and I hoed the whole plot too! I love our hoe!

I've now potted my 6 cucumber plants on and sowed my runner and dwarf beans. My cucumbers make me smile! My tomatoes do too!

Crazy Joey is looking well.

PJ if you could squeeze me in too Grin

Fluffy you'll be self sufficient in no time!

A delivery man left 3 bags of top soil on my drive today. I never ordered any and had to run out after him. He got the wrong address.

Dh has the day off today so I'm sitting with a glass of wine and bag of crisps. I've ordered another Christmas planner so hopefully this is over by then and I can have a massive party.
