@Isadora2007 I've just gone back through my orders to find the link and it says currently unavailable. Sorry

Restlessinthenorth · 05/07/2020 07:13

Anyone else have a slow delivery time on their Rex order? I placed mine on 28/06 and still haven't received my parcel...

MrsCrimbo74 · 05/07/2020 08:27

Hawkins bazaar have got a clearance page. Theres a few Harry Potter bits on there

sorryiasked · 05/07/2020 10:13

@restlessinthenorth no I'm afraid my Rex order came within a few days.

Muddlewitch · 05/07/2020 11:23

Amazon have the board game Kamba down to £4.49 at the moment, it has good reviews.

Kamba | The ultimate party game by Andrew Bryceson, inventor of the board game Articulate is a new family game for adults and teenagers, designed to get the whole table laughing. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07XZ4DCGT/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_gNAaFbPZ74JXE

Just bought the Olivia Burton watch! Love it 😍 thanks.

sorryiasked · 05/07/2020 11:58

Thanks muddlewitch that's another one off the list.

FilthyforFirth · 05/07/2020 14:33

Fellow early preppers! How do you buy for others so early? I am always keen to start xmas shopping asap, but my rather large family dont and people are very against giving me ideas before end of Oct/Nov time sadly!

I have 12 neices and nephews to get for,but I dont want to just guess. Those who are buying now, are you left to your own devices re gifts or are your family more flexible than mine?!

I find I mainly get things for myself/house/DS off the back of these threads as opposed to the bulk of my xmas shopping!

NoWordForFluffy · 05/07/2020 14:39

@Restlessinthenorth, no sign of my Rex order yet. Placed last weekend.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 05/07/2020 14:51

Anyone else have a slow delivery time on their Rex order? I placed mine on 28/06 and still haven't received my parcel...

I ordered some bits at the end of May for my daughter's birthday. Took at least 10 days, possibly longer for them to arrive.

Bluewavescrashing · 05/07/2020 15:31

My wider family know to drop hints early in the year if they want something specific. Otherwise I choose for them and they get what they're given Grin

Restlessinthenorth · 05/07/2020 15:42

Thanks everyone for your experience of Rex. I'll wait a little longer before I chase up!

Bluewavescrashing · 05/07/2020 15:57

I found some really nice chillys type water bottles at a tesco, they were delivered with my food shop.

Also they have marble effect pattern, petal pattern and a few other designs all £5 each. Handy to have them delivered in the weekly shop and no postage fee.

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 05/07/2020 16:39

I've pressed watch and it keeps disappearing for me so I'll have to place mark with no bargains yet. Sorry!

woodwaj · 05/07/2020 18:14

@FilthyforFirth I really struggle. Its hard to know what they've got and I appreciate they might not want mithering in July..wish they would be like me Grin I generally don't like buying kids clothes unless they ask for it but I've started with some personalised tshirts this year. I've gone with the assumption that houses might be full of additional stuff from home schooling/working...i know mine is 😩

FilthyforFirth · 05/07/2020 18:21

Yes I hear that @woodwaj. DS is 3 tomorrow, we already bought him loads to cope with lockdown and us working. I know family have gone mad since we've been allowed to go to shops! I myself have got him too much... Blush.

Then I am due #2 in Nov. So come this Christmas you wont be able to move in this house for 'stuff'!!

My nieces and nephews range in age from 1 to 8 so all at different stages! I constantly see bargains from this thread that I think maybe, but I know if I ask I'll get a swift 'its summer I'm not even thinking about Christmas'!

woodwaj · 05/07/2020 18:25

Some people are just grumpy about it arent they! And some people don't realise that you can get more for you more when you are wonderfully prepared like us lot here Wink my top tip is just never ask the kids as they have no concept of a budget 😅

PowerslidePanda · 05/07/2020 20:30

@sorryiasked

Argos have Downton Abbey cluedo in the clearance for £12.50
That'll be perfect for PIL - thanks for the idea! Just a heads-up that it's the same price on Amazon too (I need it home delivered and have Amazon Prime, so decided to check)
sorryiasked · 05/07/2020 20:53

menkind have several harry potter bits in the sale inc 5 x enamel pin badges for £2.50 and a really cute nifler money box for £10.

sorryiasked · 05/07/2020 20:53

And don't forget quidco!

Backatsquareone · 06/07/2020 07:23

Amazon have this Lego creator 3 in 1 shop for £26.99. Lowest it’s been on camel camel but think it’s limited time deal. Think there’s some other Lego reduced too
www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-31105-LEGO-31105-Creator-3-in-1-Townhouse-Toy-Store-Florist-Building-Set-with-Working-Rocket-Ride/dp/B07W4KTR2V/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=lego+townhouse&sprefix=lego+town&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1594016468&sr=8-3

ThePickleMan · 06/07/2020 08:21

The echo dot with clock is a deal of the day on amazon today at £29.99 (saving £30 on full price) Weirdly its the one I had on my wish list for Christmas and it gives me the option of paying £6 a month for 5 months. Happy days!

Kolo · 06/07/2020 09:07

@restlessinthenorth I placed an order on 28th too, and haven't received mine yet. Today would be 6 working days, right? So I'm not worried yet.

Crackery · 06/07/2020 09:09

Acts of kindness poster. a great gift at full price but a total bargain at £4. Especially great for hard to buy for teens and pre-teens

Plus their sale is worth a rummage
