Going back to the Raw Inventions kits, great customer service from Holland and Barrett today, one of the tins arrived dented and some of the essential oils had spilt, I sent them a couple of photos and they gave me a full refund without quibbling.

Has anyone happened to see the new Twilight book on preorder for any less than £14? Or is that a decent price for it?
I haven't bought a physical book in a long time & the recipient doesn't have a kindle

Bluewavescrashing · 01/07/2020 12:57

I can highly recommend the Lottie London makeup sets. The girly (slightly garish) colours will be gift wrapped as a bundle for teens in my family and I kept the more natural colours for myself. Eg a lovely brown and cream eye shadow palette. Good quality products.

I’m a bit stuck this year thinking of what to get Dd(14) she’s got makeup but has lost interest. Has lots of technology and gaming stuff. Into books but also has a stash to read. Just getting into films if we can persuade her but DVDs seem a bit old hat now! Got manga pens etc. Very particular with clothing and doesn’t do ‘brands’.

Shying away from experiences too as we already have a backlog to get through when lockdown is properly lifted! Felt like I’ve ruled everything out which is partly why I’m thinking about it now.

On the look out for a Nintendo 2DS or reconditioned 3DS for DS birthday. Anyone seen a good deal on the 2DS recently? Would a switch lite be better (we have a regular switch in the toyroom)? He’s going to be a bit of a pain too for Christmas as neither have ever been into the latest thing which is great on one hand but not when you are looking for ideas.

Ooh I’m so pleased I found you, I was feeling it was about time I searched out Reastie Grin

OhioOhioOhio · 01/07/2020 18:25

The Ollie and Nic sale is amazing.

GarlicSoup · 01/07/2020 19:26

@Theimpossiblegirl

Checking in. I've bought some gin so far but accidently opened a bottle. Gin
Did you accidentally drink it? @Theimpossiblegirl Grin
Tamtam86 · 01/07/2020 19:37

Just started thinking about beginning Christmas shopping so checking in! Last year was my first one on these threads and I got so many brilliant ideas and bargains! Plus, I was finished with shopping much earlier than usual, which was essential as I had a baby on 20th December! Hoping to be as organised again this year so I can just relax and enjoy it!

Theimpossiblegirl · 01/07/2020 19:41

@GarlicSoup
Yes, I'm afraid I did. Gin Blush

BadgerFace · 01/07/2020 21:03

I am waiting for my Rex and Smiggle sake deliveries. I’ve not told DH I’ve started bargain hunting for Chrimbo earlier this year. And it’s a bit harder to hide when he’s home 90% of the time now...! Grin

Bluewavescrashing · 01/07/2020 21:43

The Smiggle sale is fab. Jenga set for £1.80 reduced from £12. Matching set including rucksack, lunchbox, water bottle and pencil case all for £15. Watch for £6.

I need a break from shopping now 😂🛒

Reastie · 02/07/2020 06:44

I’m getting fed up with delivery costs on sales! Had £17 of stuff from Rex and £12 of stuff in sniffle sale but when you add on their delivery costs the bargains aren’t nearly as good. Maybe I need to bulk buy but can’t find enough stuff I will need and use for gifting.

PinkDaydreams · 02/07/2020 07:28

@Reastie I feel the same regarding postage!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/07/2020 08:24

Yes, me too re postage! I think £30 is too high an amount to qualify.

sorryiasked · 02/07/2020 08:46

The works have the Horrible Histories box set of books at £15 here
(Can't use promotion codes against them)

Spam88 · 02/07/2020 09:13

I'll often fill my basket, discover I have to pay postage, and abandon the website in my outrage 😬

I got a Rex London order the other day - just a few little stocking bits and crafty stuff (thinking I might put together craft boxes for the older kids this year - aged 3-almost 5).

Waiting for my Lisa Angel order, which almost exclusively includes stuff for me...

margaritasbythesea · 02/07/2020 09:37

Reastie - me too!

Thesearmsofmine · 02/07/2020 09:53

So happy to find this thread. May the shopping commence!

Restlessinthenorth · 02/07/2020 11:07

I agree. Postage often puts me off. If smiggles postage had been a little more reasonable, I would certainly have placed an order. But a fiver is just too much for a few bits!

PinkDaydreams · 02/07/2020 11:23

I have a socially distant garden birthday party to go to for a 3 year old but haven’t a clue what to get him! I don’t actually know him or his parents that well, he goes to the same nursery as my ds. I was going to get him some books but not sure if that’s a rubbish present or how much to spend? I love books and so does my son but I know some parents may not feel the same. Please help!

Emiliemoo · 02/07/2020 11:31

Just wanted to say an early thanks to everyone who add to these threads. I have followed along for a couple of years now. I'm rubbish at finding good offers (someone else has always already posted by the time i get here) but thought it was important to say thank you. I've already sorted some presents from Lisa Angel and Smuggle thanks to you Grin

Everybodysaycheese · 02/07/2020 12:11

Hello everyone, longtime lurker on these threads but finally have something to add! Mickey Mouse's Vacation House Duplo set is £29.78 on Amazon right now. Currently retails in John Lewis at £45 and cheapest I could get it elsewhere was £37.99. Have bought one for the toddlers Christmas.

sideorderofchips · 02/07/2020 12:19

Postage is getting higher and higher and that's if they even post to me 🙄

I really need to join this year, baby due on Boxing Day and DH on furlough until autumn.

I need to get organised and save money!
