What do you do xmas eve?

There isn't much on here on xmas eve.
Last year we went to panto but have done that already. The year before I think we went to the zoo as we had an annual pass but no longer do.
We have book breakfast with Santa but will be done with that by 12. I might get some bits to make ferarro rocher trees for the xmas table. We will do a film bath and bed in the evening but the afternoon is looking a bit boring!
What is everyone else doing?

Ice-skating, watch a Christmas film with hot chocolate, church

milliefiori · 21/12/2019 18:13

Give them the chance to run off some stream. We always go and feed local ducks. Everyone else is busy so they are starving at Christmas.

How about some old-fashioned entertainments: board/card games or charades or singing carols together?

Pyjamaface · 21/12/2019 18:17

DP will pop into town to get a book for DS' eve bag.
DS and I will do some baking
I'll pop down to my Dads grave at some point.
Buffet at DMs in the evening.

hidinginthenightgarden · 21/12/2019 18:17

Kids are too young for board games and charades to be anything more than a disaster!
I might take them for a walk to see some xmas lights though!

Afternoon tea with family.

Then bath, reindeer dust (no glitter) and films

adhdme2019 · 21/12/2019 18:19

Think we might go to the cinema

nottomgates · 21/12/2019 18:19

PJ day for us. Making reindeer food with oats, sugar etc. Baking cookies. Watching Christmas movies with hot choc.

PresidentBartlett · 21/12/2019 18:21

We go out for an early dinner with DC. Then home after looking at the Christmas lights in town for stocking hanging and exchange of new books to read that evening before putting out things for Santa and putting kids to bed.

hidinginthenightgarden · 21/12/2019 18:23

Reading this I think I will stick to my few plans.
It all sounds so nice, making things, hot chocolate and xmas films!
I have a tendancy to want to make everything magical and then am disapointed because it isn't as good as it was in my head Blush

We are seeing santa in the morning, into town for lunch and then we will watch the towns light show and come home for sweets and home alone Grin cant wait

anxioussue · 21/12/2019 18:40

Go out for breakfast
Have a takeaway
Watch Xmas film

reefedsail · 21/12/2019 18:42

We'll be going for a bit of lunch (usually go to McDonalds- but have the GPs with us this year so better upgrade Blush) then going to the matinee of the panto on the pier. It will be dark when it's finishes so we'll walk up the beach to see the lights and lasers on the esplanade.

In the evening we'll probably play board games and watch a cheesy Christmas film- I have designs on Klaus.

Mum2Girls19 · 21/12/2019 21:45

I'm at work till just after lunch but then we are going to our local pantomime to watch Aladdin before my parents come over xx

goose1964 · 21/12/2019 22:10

DH usually makes a last minute dash to Tesco & Waitrose
Other than that no plans. If it's fine we may well take DGS out to burn off some energy.
After kids have gone to bed we usually watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Followed by the midnight service.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 21/12/2019 22:16

Working this year but will be done in time for Christingle service. Making DH walk the kids down so they get some fresh air and exercise!

HairyToity · 21/12/2019 22:18

Not much! DH working. I will just be chilling with the kids. Will go to the christingle service in the village.

Hoghgyni · 21/12/2019 22:22

Working & visiting Mil in a care home as we won't be able to visit on Christmas Day.

countdowntochristmas · 21/12/2019 22:29

Working so not much planned. Ill probably go to supermarket before work for last minute bits .I'll come home quick clean of bathroom put Christmas towels out . Prep veg for Christmas dinner and start on with buffet tea . After that I may get chance to sit down with a drink Grin

ineedto · 21/12/2019 22:52

Late lunch with friends (all the kids are luckily best mates too). Wine, chatter and hugs before home, pyjamas and a festive film before bed.

Fruityb · 21/12/2019 22:55

McDonald’s breakfast; watch the snowman; do some last minute shopping; get excited!

My son is three this year so we’ll probably go for a walk near the beach if the weather is ok as we’re up in Yorkshire.

annie987 · 21/12/2019 22:56

We always head into town late morning and have a hot chocolate in a cafe and watch the people still frantically shopping.
McDonald’s for lunch and a Christmas film in the afternoon.

Littleshortcake · 21/12/2019 23:00

No plans yet but will likely visit family in the afternoon and go to mass. Usually 8pm.
In the morning I will get last minute bits and pieces and deliver cards! Wine to neighbours and go to the barber with dc.
Won't be long passing the time Xmas Grin

Hadenoughofitall441 · 21/12/2019 23:02

Work, this year I’m working till 2, when I get home I’m cooking the honey roast gammon, playing games with the kids, having a chinese for dinner, watching the nightmare before Xmas, watching trashy tv, then wait for the kids to go to sleep.
