Sorry, not caught up at all with last thread because of a germy family. I’m figuring this will be the thread with Christmas on though!

No links etc because I’m figuring you know it all now and we’re so nearly there!

Happy Christmas everyone 🎄☃️❄️🎅🏻

I'm just popping back to wish everyone a merry Christmas. We're actually having early Christmas today because we're going abroad to visit family for the real thing.
Thanks for all the help and tips, hope you all have a lovely festive day.

Oh, and for anyone with a raclette grill, you can often buy the proper racelette cheese in a Waitrose that has a decent size cheese counter. Sometimes they stock it prepacked in lidl (for alps week or something) but theirs doesn't have as much flavour. We usually stock up when in France and freeze in batches. Defrost overnight in fridge before using and jobs a goodun.

If anyone is in the Edinburgh /Lothians area and are still to get their tree, IKEA are giving away their remaining real trees for free.

Thanks for topcashback waterstone's logged into my account and was available to me

Thanks for the Topcashback Waterstones offer. I bought something for a January birthday, but went for free delivery to my local store, and as it's in stock there (which you can check) I've already received a message that it's ready for me to collect. So this would work for Christmas gifts too!

Please can I ask, are the raclette grills usually electric or do they use tealights? (I can't be trusted with naked flames you see Smile)

Melted cheese though....

CloseEncountersOfTheTerfKind · 21/12/2019 15:16

Although saying that, I bought a wax melter off the back of this thread (Yankee Outlet, very good indeed, thank you) for that very reason, and dropped melted wax all over my carpet, so clearly I can't be trusted with anything!

Racelette grills are electric. You will need an extension lead unless you have a plug socket right next to your dining table.

@zillaindie we have this teaset which I thought was a decent price for it. 4 of everything, a teapot and a tray.

Ooh thank you, that looks perfect. Also 7 still available at our local Smyths......now to convince DP to brave a trip there tomorrow 😖

@sherbertdibdab that’s great your books have been dispatched. Mine are still pending and have to come to Ireland so not a hope for me.

Zero response to any of my emails to The Cocktail Man but both my orders have (finally) arrived.

The products look nice but I’ve bought a monthly subscription and I’m unsure whether or not to continue it as their customer service has been, frankly, crap.

@PinkDaydreams, did you say you're a student? You can normally get a 3-6 month free trial of Student Prime. Worth looking?

Ooo fingers crossed for me LikeSilver. I had no response to my emails but sent them a Facebook message last night which they replied to, saying the guaranteed everything would be delivered today at the latest. We're away until tomorrow so I'm now facing trying to get to the sorting office to pick it up when I'm at work mon and Tues! Thats if it's even actually come.

Sainsburys have some great reductions. Their Xmas bedding is all cheaper and I've picked up the lion blanket I was hesitating on for DS, went from £10 to £7.50 and then down to a fiver

Sainsbury’s have also reduced all their Christmas clothing by 70%. It was going quickly this afternoon though. A bit left online and on the Argos site too

A few sales are starting. Been waiting for Naked marshmallows sale (my guilty pleasure), all their Christmas items are half price.

Also just bought dd1’s birthday present, she wanted a DNA testing kit, amazon had a £20 voucher on the Myheritage test kit taking it down to £49.

Is the Waterstones top cash back deal for new members only? I can't see it once I log in.

I have finally managed to get all the presents out and sort everything out. I have bought way too much stuff, but none of it at full price so thank you everyone! DD’s birthday is all sorted as I really did buy too much for her. Won’t need to get her anything else.

I’m missing about 4 or 5 presents (2 big ones!) and I’m hoping they are hiding in an inaccessible part of my garage and when dh can get in the and dig through the stuff he will be able to find them.

Just need to find some time to wrap everything but as storage is a problem I think that might be a Christmas Eve job.
