Sorry, not caught up at all with last thread because of a germy family. I’m figuring this will be the thread with Christmas on though!

No links etc because I’m figuring you know it all now and we’re so nearly there!

Happy Christmas everyone 🎄☃️❄️🎅🏻

Dgs1 (8) wants Smyths vouchers so I was looking for something to give him a parcel to open. This Lego Harry Potter year book was only £3.99. The mini figure with it costs more than that.

@Carrie76 - Book People service has been very slow this year. I ordered a parcel on 1 December, didn’t get dispatched until 12 December and still hasn’t been delivered (although tracking says it is with a driver to be delivered today ...) . I called on about 10 December and basically told they were busy and nothing they could do - very poor service, which is a shame as they’ve been great in the past.

Elsie, I’m really sorry but I think the Book People have gone into administration

I have my ds his LEGO HP knight bus today for his birthday and it’s missing 2 pieces. So unlike LEGO, it’s a window frame and glass insert. Luckily he’s a fairly chilled kid, I hope there aren’t other sets out there the same. There may be sad kids on Christmas morning.

@elsielegallez yeah they said they’ll honour all orders but it’s looking unlikely. Santa always brings book box sets here. I’d better source some replacements.

@Carrie76 on lego website you can request parts that are missing. They are very good at replacing items. Ive done it many times over the years!

VividImagination · 20/12/2019 15:29

@Carrie76 Lego used to send out missing or lost pieces free of charge. I’m not sure if this is still the case but we definitely got some years ago.

Thanks for that I’ve logged on to order them, it will be 7-10 working days which is a bit disappointing for him.

Cant remember who wanted christmas plates but Matalan had all their christmas range reduced, low stock but may be good to get some.

Tesco has bit tubs of chocs at 4 pounds so not too bad for those last minute people to buy for.

The Star Wars Lego boost is £100 in Argos, I got emailed a code for £6 off £60 making it £94 which is the cheapest price I’ve seen it for it was £95 on amazon over Black Friday

@Carrie76 TK Maxx had lots of box sets in recently, I got a box set for £15 plus postage from the book people and the same box set was only €12.99 in TK Maxx so definitely worth trying there.

@Carrie76 I called the BookPeople today as I was in a similar situation, ordered Saturday still pending. They said all orders to date were being despatched today or tomorrow so we 'should' receive them on Monday or Tuesday. Can't say the call reassured me all that much!
