I will risk it today after work see what it’s like if it’s awful/ can’t even get parked then I’ll go back this eve when it should hopefully be quieter. I just want to get it done and I literally drive past it on my way home from work anyway.
It’s a big car park...Xmas Grin

JingleAllTheWayhohoho · 21/12/2019 08:43

I've got my delivery slot on Sunday evening. I was hoping for Monday, but I booked it weeks ago and it was all that was left.

Titsywoo · 21/12/2019 10:26

Got up at 6.45 and went to M&S then Sainsburys today to get it out of the way! Lovely and quiet and I'm home now but may have a nap this afternoon!

Clangus00 · 21/12/2019 10:31

Most of our supermarkets are 24 hours. I’m going on Monday.

Pilot12 · 21/12/2019 10:37

DP went to ALDI at 9am this morning, he said it was packed out, all the fresh food had a BF/EB date for today and there were lots of things not put out yet. He gave up and came home. We usually do our weekly food shop on a Saturday evening and he's going back tonight to do it at the normal time!

MaidenMotherCrone · 21/12/2019 10:44

We were at Tesco for 7am this morning. Lovely and quiet. Shelves all full. I just need to put it all away now. It'll be manic now!

Likethebattle · 21/12/2019 12:09

I’m in Scotland so we have no Sunday trading laws. Going to Asda for 7am to get it done before the rush. Good luck.

Apolloanddaphne · 21/12/2019 12:13

I am in Scotland too so I am going at 7am tomorrow morning. I want to get some things from Marks so I may try and get them today as it doesn't open until 9am tomorrow.

SeasideThisChristmas · 21/12/2019 12:15

Online delivery coming on Monday morning. I’ll then pop out on Tuesday to get any missing items and last minute bits.

Redyoyo · 21/12/2019 14:24

22nd at 8pm so i have time to get alcohol through before 10pm. I usually get it delivered but i forgot to book my slot this year.
Our local tesco express is open till 10pm on Xmas eve which is handy for extra wine and chocolate.

GoldenHoops · 21/12/2019 14:34

Apart from the Turkey which I'll get on Tuesday, I went to Tesco, Waitrose M&S and the farm shop this morning. It took 3 hours and I was back in time to watch James Martin. It's my favourite thing about Christmas 🌲

andannabegins · 21/12/2019 15:25

All ours has been done today and both freezers are stuffed and I have a bag of chips I can't fit in. Stupid over buying as usual but we will not be short of food for a good while 🙄

AwdBovril · 21/12/2019 15:30

Done it today. We will probably buy last-minute milk, bread & fresh salad, vegetables etc if we run out. However we've got lots in, so probably not. And there's a corner shop right across the road, good for emergencies.

Apolloanddaphne · 21/12/2019 15:31

I think I have changed my mind about going early tomorrow morning. It seems our local store is open until midnight today so may go later this evening. Do you Thai i they will manage to keep the shelves stocked? I am thinking if I can't get some things tonight at least I can then pop elsewhere tomorrow to get bits.

Honeybee85 · 21/12/2019 15:38

We will be going out for dinner so no need to buy a Christmas dinner. DH will be working during the day, DS only consumes milk and smashed fruits so that’s just me and I’m thinking to buy myself some lovely pastry for breakfast, some sushi for lunch and Christmas donuts the day before.

desperatehousewife21 · 21/12/2019 17:04

Tesco was fine! Was honestly expecting it to be horrendous but it wasn’t much different to a normal sat afternoon and they had heaps of veg (carrots 19p!) the only horrendous bit was the £100 total at the end Xmas Grin

YessicaHaircut · 21/12/2019 17:11

I went to Morrison’s at 7am today, it was quiet and no queues! Planning to go to Aldi for a few bits when it opens on Monday (8am) and will send DH out for fresh bread and salad stuff on Xmas Eve morning as we’ve got family over for a buffet lunch.

Millie2013 · 21/12/2019 17:11

I did mine yesterday, Lidl and Waitrose. Everything had a decent date on it. MIL is collecting the turkey (and some salad bits) on Monday

I feel quite relaxed (what have I forgotten?) Grin

Kielyo123 · 21/12/2019 18:42

Got lots of 24 hour supermarkets around but have never had a problem getting in any of them. Planning on going monday evening to get the last few bits, got meat and cupboard stuff yesterday

CrowleysBentley · 21/12/2019 18:59

Christmas eve Xmas Sad I don't have a chance to get it done before that because of schedules, unfortunately. I can't manage to do it on my own now, as I have mobility issues, but DS is off work Christmas eve and is happy to come to sainsburys and get it all at 6am, then he has offered to go to Marks and Spencer to pick up the Christmas Dinner order from there that's booked for 9 am. He'd go to sainsburys for me with a list if I wanted him to, but it's easier if I'm there as I know what I can sub ingredients with in recipes if things aren't in stock, being as we're cutting it quite fine with the timing.

We have a big tesco about 5 mins walk away that's only closed on Christmas day, so as long as I can get what I need for Christmas eve, Christmas day and preferably boxing day too I will be happy. I have a normal food delivery booked in for the 27th.

missmouse101 · 21/12/2019 19:01

Yesterday.

Roselilly36 · 21/12/2019 19:03

Did ours fri, before it got too busy, DH did the last bits today.

Namechange170518 · 21/12/2019 19:12

Click and collect booked for 18.00 - 20.00 Monday. May have a mooch on xmas eve for bargains

dementedma · 21/12/2019 19:42

Got it all today. Shops weren’t too bad at all.

Itstheprinciple · 21/12/2019 20:03

I panicked and went at 6am today instead of Monday as planned. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! Just need fresh bread rolls, and that's it (I think).
