I'm going tomorrow when I finish work at 12pm (midday).

We are having Christmas dinner at SILs so I mainly just need my normal weeks shop and a couple of extra bits.

Have already ordered pigs in blankets and a few other bits from my butcher so will pick those up tomorrow as well.

FairyJuice · 19/12/2019 18:17

Mine is being delivered Monday evening but I already have all the meat in the freezer, and went to Tesco yesterday to pick up the bits that were at risk of being out of stock. So the actual Xmas shop will be mostly fresh veg, fizzy drinks and cupboard staples to see us out for the rest of the week.

Deelish75 · 19/12/2019 18:21

Delivery is coming on Saturday morning. I'll pick the turkey up on Sunday. DD and I will go to our local Tesco on Christmas Eve morning to get some salad items for Boxing Day and anything that been missed off the Saturday morning delivery.

KTCluck · 19/12/2019 18:23

I’m shopping in the morning for all the goodies, cheeses, cranberry sauce, chutneys etc, as well as our usual basics. Then I have the meat and veg ordered locally to pick up on Christmas Eve. Alcohol arrived last week. I wouldn’t stress OP, Monday will be fine. I’ve often done everything but the turkey first thing on Christmas Eve and got everything I wanted even if I’ve had to to visit a second shop.

ShoeJunkie · 19/12/2019 18:25

Tesco are delivering mine tomorrow morning. That way I figure I’ve got time to pop out for anything that’s missing over the weekend.

dementedma · 19/12/2019 18:26

Some on Saturday, some on Monday. Plenty time

Megan2018 · 19/12/2019 18:28

Ocado are delivering tomorrow with most of the booze and non perishable, then early Christmas Eve delivering most of the fresh- this leaves me time to go out if there are any disasters with missing items.
I’ve already bought some items in Aldi as I’ve seen them so not starting from scratch.

I do need to do Tesco and M&S Sunday or Monday for some specific fresh things that Ocado don’t have too but only a small shop in each.

passthebucky · 19/12/2019 18:29

I always do mine on Xmas eve.

Equimum · 19/12/2019 18:35

We have Ocado delivering on 23rd. I nipped to Waitrose for a few additional bits today, and will do a Lidl run for snack bits and basic food for non-special days tomorrow.

Pippapotomus · 19/12/2019 18:56

I have the usual weekly delivery, quite larger than usual, coming on Saturday, then Christmas Dinner supplies on the 23rd.

Traditionally DH will grab any missing items at Tesco on Christmas eve on our way to the panto. I keep circling the car park as finding a space is rarer than hens teeth. He's in and out with a basket, no fucking about.

notthenormal · 19/12/2019 19:08

Picking up the pre order Christmas dinner bits on Christmas Eve, will pick up other bits and bobs either then or at some point on Sunday as I need bits for my pre Christmas get together with BF on Monday and I'm doing nothing on Saturday as we have the after work pub crawl tomorrow

Thesearmsofmine · 19/12/2019 19:11

I’m ordering mine online for collection on the 23rd. I am going to pop to iceland for a few buffet type bits. Picking our meat up on Christmas Eve.

Gonewiththemadness · 19/12/2019 19:26

23rd. Probably dead early too. I can’t wait! Not so sure my DC will feel the same!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 19/12/2019 19:59

We always pick up the turkey (not ordered, just off the shelf) and any fresh stuff like veg, orange juice, as soon as M&S opens (7 am) on the 23rd. Never had a problem. But I'll have bought or made everything else by then.

goose1964 · 19/12/2019 20:04

We're mainly done, only the perishables now unless we see anything nice in the East European shop near my daughter's.

Theonewiththecat · 19/12/2019 20:04

I fully intend to be in asda at 7am on Saturday morning.
Can you buy alcohol that early in the morning though?

Lordfrontpaw · 19/12/2019 20:05

I know you can drink alcohol at 7am...

Theonewiththecat · 19/12/2019 20:08

I might just crack open the bottle of gin while shopping @lordfrontpaw, I might need it Xmas Grin

RingtheBells · 19/12/2019 20:08

Had a Tesco delivery today and am getting fresh stuff from M&S and Waitrose on Monday

1990shopefulftm · 19/12/2019 20:14

doing it after work tomorrow and if aldi doesn't have some of it will go to asda on monday.

reluctantbrit · 19/12/2019 20:17

DH will go on Monday morning. All dry food is done, just fresh veg, fruit, dairy and collecting the meat.

We never had problems on the 23rd and we are away over the weekend so no choice anyway.

Itstheprinciple · 20/12/2019 04:19

Same as you. 6am on Monday. At the panto matinee on Sunday so won't have time then.

MaitlandGirl · 20/12/2019 04:24

DD1 and I are going shopping at 6am on Tuesday. It’s a regular thing for me, and it’s really not that bad.

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 20/12/2019 04:28

I usually do an online food shop on Friday nights for Sunday delivery. I discovered last Friday that the next delivery slot is the 5th January... (I only started to do online shopping this year so it's my first Christmas)
I will have to venture out, I'll probably go late tomorrow night or early Monday morning as our local Tesco extra is 24 hour closing midnight Saturday and reopening midnight Sunday after Sunday trading hours.

Lordfrontpaw · 20/12/2019 08:07

24 hour Tesco you say... there’s one bit all that far from us. Hmmmmm 🎅
