A mixture of pastries and bucks fizz

Miljea · 19/12/2019 18:29

Sorry if this has been asked- when can I buy a jar of ready made sauce (hollandaise?) for Eggs Benedict?

Thesearmsofmine · 19/12/2019 18:33

DC have asked to have mince pie porridge, DH and I are having croissants I think.

GinUnicorn · 19/12/2019 18:33

Croissant with scrambled eggs and usually champagne. As I’m pregnant this year it will be non alcoholic sparkling wine.

GinUnicorn · 19/12/2019 18:34

@Miljea Waitrose have a good one - it’s not in a jar as it’s fresh - in resealable plastic

poshme · 19/12/2019 18:37

@miljea I bought hollandaise sauce in a jar from Tesco. No idea of its any good bit I won't be eating it!
We'll be having eggs benedict on bagels with smoked salmon (DH & DS- & prob the in laws)
Scrambled eggs (DDs)
Mushroom omelette (me)
We don't have dinner till 5/530

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 19/12/2019 18:40

The fuck? Xmas Shock What the hell do you people think selection boxes are for? Then when you run out of chocolate, you break out the pringles. Ffs. Xmas Hmm

popcorndiva · 19/12/2019 18:41

I am going to have a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel.
DH doesn't eat breakfast
16 month old is getting a christmas tree crumpet with nutella for a treat

Bloodybridget · 19/12/2019 18:58

DP and I will be in a hotel for the first time ever this Christmas, their breakfast menu includes devilled kidneys so that's what I'm planning on! When home, it's usually bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese, croissants, pain au chocolat, that sort of thing.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/12/2019 19:26

@nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut - you are absolutely right. And a balanced breakfast would be a bar of chocolate in each hand, yes? Xmas WinkXmas Grin

SoftSheen · 19/12/2019 19:28

Pannetone with clementine curd, good coffee, juice.

MsAwesomeDragon · 19/12/2019 19:32

Dds will have breakfast from their stockings, so it will include something like crumpets or croissants or pain au chocolate.

Dh and I will possibly have fried egg sandwiches, but it's equally likely that we'll have cereal. We're not really that fussed.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 19/12/2019 19:51

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius Yes! Curly wurly in one and a crunchie in the other. And a fudge already stuffed in.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/12/2019 19:56

I think I have found my long-lost twin, @nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut!

TheoneandObi · 19/12/2019 19:59

Pancakes with a blueberry compote and blob of Greek yog. And Buck’s Fizz. Enough to keep us going until dinner sometime after 6. Although obv well have a few snacks to sustain ourselves beteeen times!

onlyhereforthefood · 19/12/2019 20:55

My fiancé and I usually just dive in to a selection box

Luxembourgmama · 19/12/2019 21:21

Tinned croissants. Sounds manly but is actually amazing.

thenightsky · 19/12/2019 21:23

Where are you getting tinned croissants?

Electrocute1980 · 19/12/2019 21:23

Croissants and jam here!

IM0GEN · 19/12/2019 21:34

Excellent thread

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 19/12/2019 22:31

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius. Do you have a home bargains anywhere near you? If I may draw your attention to the giant selection boxes...

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/12/2019 23:11

Oooh - temptation!

HavelockVetinari · 19/12/2019 23:17

In the UK usually eggs, bacon, toast, jam and tea/coffee after a traditional family Christmas morning run.

In Hungary: eggs, sliced meats, cucumber, peppers, tomatoes, freshly baked rolls, cheese.
