How many days off do you get?

I'm off 21st to 2nd Jan, so 12 days off including the weekends, I think it's my longest break yet (had to take 5 holiday days though). January will be depressing though, no days off again until Easter! Gin

Off from 20th to 25th. Working boxing day as I get triple rate so volunteered. Working then till NYD off then till the 6th. We are short staffed so no annual leave is allowed in December.

@TheSandman I don’t believe any parent has a day off do they? Unless the children are with relatives. We are closed for 8 days, 2 days reserved annual leave though.

Reythemamajedi · 28/11/2019 22:30

Office closes at 12.30 on Christmas eve and reopens on 2nd. Can't wait.

CareOfPunts · 28/11/2019 22:32

Finish on 23rd, back on 3rd.

MurrayTheMonk · 28/11/2019 22:57

Just Boxing Day and New Year's Day for me this year. Mental health residential service manager. Christmas is our busiest time unfortunately.

joystir59 · 28/11/2019 23:01

I'm off 25th to 1st Jan inclusive. Lovely, and especially as my partner will be recovering from major surgery and I'm going to be needed at home.

gh621 · 28/11/2019 23:09

Just Christmas Day.

I work in retail so no annual leave allowed to be taken from mid Nov-mid Jan.
We only get Christmas Day off as the shop is not allowed to be open!

Christmas Day and Boxing Day

A full week as my employer shuts down between Christmas and New Year, though it comes out of my annual leave allowance.

Officially finish on Tuesday 24th and officially will get to finish early afternoon that day. As the office is closed I will WFH Monday/Tuesday, but as so many people are already off it will be lazy days.

I'm back on Friday 3rd (1st and 2nd are bank holidays in Scotland). Fridays are normally a WFH 1/2 day, and again most people will still be off, so will answer any emails and that will be about it.

ClientListQueen · 28/11/2019 23:14

Standard office job
Off 24/25/26 and NYD

Gotthetshirt23 · 28/11/2019 23:22

Depends on shift pattern
In 23 years I've had one as annual leave
About 3/4 as rest days
worked all the others

Christmas can be any day you want
It can be a good working day
Sometimes

The 3 bank holidays

PrincessHoneysuckle · 28/11/2019 23:42

18th dec to 6th Jan.School

grandmasterstitch · 29/11/2019 00:04

Finish 29th. Back for a day on 2nd then back to normal on 6th January. I'm a lucky nanny who is relishing working for parents who work in offices after years of NHS workers who obviously can guarantee time off

plightofthealbatross · 29/11/2019 00:05

Primary school. Our last day is the 18th and we don't go back until the 6th. Definitely looking forward to the break.

ThePortIsSunny · 29/11/2019 00:57

Finish on 20th Dec and return on 8th Jan so a nice long break.

Mrsfussypants1 · 29/11/2019 08:47

gh621 I used to work in retail, but back in my day you got double time, I don't think that exists anymore. I applaud the likes of Home Bargains and Aldi that are shut boxing day to give staff time with their families. And to all those that have to work over Christmas in the Nhs, care homes, mental health and other roles, Thank You!

tentative3 · 29/11/2019 10:37

Railway, so Christmas Day and Boxing Day but my rest days happen to fall so I'm not back in until 1st. Very lucky.

Scbchl · 29/11/2019 10:42

I finish the 20th and back the 7th because I dont work Mondays. This will be my second year off xmas after working in cosmetics in retail for years before.
