How many days off do you get?

I'm off 21st to 2nd Jan, so 12 days off including the weekends, I think it's my longest break yet (had to take 5 holiday days though). January will be depressing though, no days off again until Easter! Gin

Christmas Day, Boxing Day and NY day. I’m cool with that, would much rather take my leave at a different time. Off for a week in January when everyone else is back at work. Now that is a holiday for me.

DD is NHS, does four on and four off. She is working 24th, 25th and NYE and NYD too. She is on nights on the 24th and 25th to boot. I think I might like that, I am very bah humbug.

Anoisagusaris · 28/11/2019 20:21

25th, 26th and 1st. I’ll be taking extra days as annual leave.

runwithme · 28/11/2019 20:23

I've got 27th off and that's it! DH will have to do the child wrangling and prep. I've got a few days off in Jan and then 1/2 in Feb so I'm not too bothered

DookofBust · 28/11/2019 20:23

21st-6th Jan. I am taking four days lieu to top up bank hols and the three days in between I get. I need a break!

Helspopje · 28/11/2019 20:24

Working 24/7 23rd to 30th Dec then normal 9-6 31st Dec to 3rd Jan bar NYD

Hospital consultant

Bickles · 28/11/2019 20:33

This year I finish at 5 on 18th and go back on 2nd January. It doesn’t normally fall that well for me but looking forward to it.

reluctantbrit · 28/11/2019 20:43

Christmas Day and Boxing Day plus the 27th as I don't work Fridays.

Then New Year's Day and back on the 2nd.

Working in Finance can be a nightmare in December.

Dollywilde · 28/11/2019 20:45

I’m wfh on Fri 20 and Mon 23rd, then annual leave until the 30th. DH just started a new job and found out they shut the office from the 20th til the 2nd and he doesn’t even have to use leave Envy

BentNeckLady · 28/11/2019 20:47

Finish on the 20th back on the 2nd with 2 days AL. It can’t come quick enough tbh; I’m ducking knackered at the moment.

GreyGardens88 · 28/11/2019 20:49

In my job they shut the office but still have to take the 3 days in between as leave. Tight to the extreme Hmm

itsgettingweird · 28/11/2019 20:57

Finish 20th

Back 6th Jan.

Work in a school!

LittlePanda1 · 28/11/2019 20:58

Stop on the 19th go back on the 6th
Perk of being self employed Smile

LoonyLunaLoo · 28/11/2019 20:59

I work in education so 20th-6th. DH has taken 3 weeks so he’s off from15th. Seems a waste to me as he’ll be on his own or if I’m working from home he’ll be nagging me to entertain him (I won’t have time so I’ll end up having to go into the office).

OneKeyAtATime · 28/11/2019 21:00

19th till 4th.can't wait!

OneKeyAtATime · 28/11/2019 21:01

Well 6th actually!

jmh740 · 28/11/2019 21:08

Ta in a school finish on the 20th back on the 6th

wendz86 · 28/11/2019 21:11

Finish lunchtime 24th and back either 2nd or 6th depending on if i take 2nd as a day off.

TheSandman · 28/11/2019 21:18

"Day off"? What? I'm a SAHD with three kids. This is a concept I am not familiar with. Would someone please explain?

BellyButton85 · 28/11/2019 21:24

Lucky you, working for the NHS I'm working 13 hour shifts xmas eve, Xmas day and boxing day.
Lots of jealousy over here! Oh and NYD!

Runnerduck34 · 28/11/2019 21:26

Ive just splurged the last of my A/L so I get 2 weeks off over Xmas. We are lucky that we get 3 extra days when the office closes between Xmas and new year and as I don't work Mondays I only had to book 3 days A/L to get 2 weeks off. Unfortunately I will then only have 1 days leave left until end of march !
My sister works in retail and only gets Xmas day off, staff aren't allowed to book any A/L in December and in the first week of January , it's absolute rubbish , no one needs to go shopping onboxing day .

PorpentinaScamander · 28/11/2019 21:29

I'm expected to work either Christmas day and boxing day OR NYE and NYD. No annual leave allowed at all. Private care sector.

However I'm currently signed off sick so not actually at work.

flowerycurtain · 28/11/2019 21:35

Not a single one.

Farmer.

Although we do close the office from the 24th - 2nd and only really deal with the daily animals and therefore essential jobs.

RaininSummer · 28/11/2019 21:41

My workplace will be shut from 23rd to 2nd but we have to take it all off our annual leave which is a pita as it doesn't lave much for summer.

hazeydays14 · 28/11/2019 21:43

25th, 26th and NYD
NHS but not patient facing.
