Who does a Christmas/North pole breakfast on the 1st?

For a few years now I have done my children a 'Christmas breakfast' on the 1st December! We don't have an elf so I don't call it a 'Northpole breakfast' but it is pretty much the same.

I decorate the table and I have silver chargers that I put the food on - Christmas tree crumpets, mini mice pies and gingerbread men. This year I'm doing them a 'candy cane' of sliced strawberries and banana. I always put a little chocolate figure next to their place. They have Christmas plates and bottles I will get out. On the table will also be their Christmas card from me and their advent calendar (traditional picture one). They love it and it gets us all in the festive mood. Anyone else?

In fact this is just the thing some youth groups would encourage at church in order to spend the morning reading scripture at a December bible reading breakfast.

@fluffiest - I got mine in Asda. I was in there this morning and there were loads of them so should still be around!

@whusky - I'm glad you enjoyed your breakfast and I'm so glad there are others who love to get into the spirit of Christmas Xmas Smile

@zennudist - as I explained I started the tradition when I was working as a nurse and had to work over Christmas. Not everyone gets to spend Christmas with their family.

However this year (and the last 2) I have got to spend Christmas with my family. Are we fed up by Christmas? No! We enjoy spending time together - the love and laughter - we don't have to ration it!

Even those who were outraged by my breakfast admited they do things in December like Christmas fairs and pantomimes. Most families do Christmas activities in December even if only crafts and baking (which we will do!) - it doesn't make Christmas day any less special.

Lunde, that all sounds delicious, can I come to yours?

Thanks for this idea!

We did this on Sunday afternoon. Christmas tree crumpets, mini mince pies and pigs in blankets! Hot chocolate with squirty cream in
Christmas mugs and a little Lindt chocolate Santa on each plate.

Decorated the table all chrismassy too. Then we made the gingerbread house. Was lovely 🥰

Sounds amazing, @twinkledag! We have a gingerbread house kit to do at one point too Xmas Smile
