Couldn’t resist the title given the chatter about the hampers. Cross fingers they arrive and are fantastic or that refunds are fast and painless.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Ooh @Gustavo1 I'm 35 weeks pregnant, so we'll both have our little newborns in time for Christmas ☺️

My little tree finally arrived. The box was battered and the item itself is quite damaged. I'm sure my 2.5yo will still be delighted with it, but I might be cheeky and see if they'll refund me...

Raindancer411 · 09/11/2019 07:12

What are these Christmas trees please?

unkindnessofravens · 09/11/2019 07:16

My DS has become super car mad recently. He's almost 8 so doesn't really play with toy cars much anymore, he's more into admiring pictures of the high end ones. He's asked for a car advent calendar this year and I've seen this one at Hobbycraft. Has anyone had similar and can recommend, or are there any other ideas? Starting to feel like time is running out to get this sorted so any suggestions would be a huge help.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/11/2019 07:18

I just saw this on Facebook for anyone who wants the crackling advent and doesn't have Quidco yet.

Thanks for the leapfrog ice cream cart link-just paid £28 via the Argos deal, I think ds3 will love it.

Kraggle · 09/11/2019 07:42

Word of warning on the Snaffling Pig advent calendar, I had one last year and was mightily disappointed with it. Teeny tiny bags, at least half full with flavouring and just tiny bits of crackling and at least 3 packets weren’t sealed properly and had gone soft. I wouldn’t recommend.

Dreamingofwalden · 09/11/2019 07:52

@lolarabbit I think that baking subscription looks lovely. On an earlier thread someone recommended Yumbles; I bought some gin sweets from them for my SiL in Oz. I haven’t tasted them but they look good. Smile

Moltenpink · 09/11/2019 07:56

This Lol sequin purse & bracelet set is less than half price with amazon prime at the mo:
Lol 5.99

MorelloKisses · 09/11/2019 07:59

@Howmanysleepsnow I’d love the Celtic & Co code, if still available. Thanks!

Elphaba17 · 09/11/2019 07:59

I keep seeing the leapfrog ice cream set being mentioned- is it really worth the money? I have an almost 3 year old and hadn't really considered it but it's popularity is intriguing me now.

Moltenpink · 09/11/2019 08:01

If anyone is buying Lol stuff in general, it’s DD’s birthday today and the furniture play sets have gone down really well. They seem to be much better value than the tubes, and the boxes open out into a play set. Might be one to watch for Black Friday:

These are the Christmas trees. £4.50 delivered. Mine arrived a couple of days ago too (must have been a shipment) and it's really sweet

wibdib · 09/11/2019 08:36

@unkindnessofravens if you want slightly more grown up car presents, The Works often have ‘How to draw Cars’ books that are suitable from 8 to adult; full of sports cars and racing cars, all cool graphics and easy enough to follow so he will be able to draw his own amazing cars. You could add a mechanical pencil, couple of different tipped fine liner black pens to draw them with and a ream of cheap paper to practice on, and one of those display books of plastic wallets to keep the best ones in. I expect Hibbycraft and The Book People would have similar books but The Works are usually the cheapest for this sort of book.

Last year/year before The Book People had a beautiful big Dorling Kindersly book about cars or super cars - all full of amazing cars, loads of pictures and probably just about the right info for an 8-10 yr old to be fine with but also ok for adults and not the sort of book he would grow out of, one of those great DK reference books. Then it was a bargainous £5-10 depending on what discount code you could get but not sure what it would be now or if will have been superceded by something similar but a bit different. Worth a look though for loads of beautiful cars to look at!

You might also find a Top Trumps set with the cars he likes in.

NotYourHolidayDick · 09/11/2019 08:37

thank you for the Gruum code that was pmd to me. I've bought a razor handle plus 6 blades for £5 delivered. That'll be lovely for my teenage daughter, so she can stop nicking mine 😂

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 09/11/2019 08:44

Zavvi have their previous zxboxes on buy one get one free. Google shows what’s been in them and they can be split up into multiple gifts. There’s a lovely Marvel one.

Has anybody seen any Matalan discount codes please.

lolarabbit · 09/11/2019 08:58

Thanks @Dreamingofwalden - I only joined in on about Thread 9 so thinking I should maybe track back. Who knows what brilliant ideas I've missed Wink

Highfivethatfart · 09/11/2019 09:00

Yankee Candle lamp for £10 BUT CANDLE NOT INCLUDED - may be good if you already have a candle to give someone:

lamp

Highfivethatfart · 09/11/2019 09:04

Actually trawling through my emails from the week and it seems that Yankee Bundles are doing a flash sale type each day so it maybe worth signing up for the newsletter to get notifications as each offer ends at midnight.....

FeltCarrot · 09/11/2019 09:10

Nordicwannabe do the trees come with the baubles too, and if yes how many are there? Just wondering if it can be used as an advent calendar, adding a bauble a day.

rosebb1 · 09/11/2019 09:12

Does anyone know where I can get a nice set of felt Christmas tree decorations?

winewolfhowls · 09/11/2019 09:14

I couldn't resist, I got the mini tree. Also thanks for the lol purse link, bought for the present drawer as several birthday parties are coming up.

Got a book company, leaflet through door, some more unusual Mr men book sets are available for under a tenner. Also the Julia Donaldson audio book set looks great.

Does anyone have a molton brown code or remember if they did any fabulous offers or gift sets last year?

Duchessofealing · 09/11/2019 09:27
